Films That Should Be Made: The 8th Voyage of Sinbad

Columbia Pictures has been trying to bring back Sinbad to the big screen. It makes sense considering Clash of The Titans and Prince of Persia could end up juggernauts at the box office. Adam Shankman (Bedtime Stories, Hairspray) and Rob Cohen (Fast & The Furious, Mummy 3) have been rumored to be in talks to direct in the past. Neither seem to be good fits to a possible franchise like this. Keanu Reeves (Matrix) and Vin Diesel (Pitch Black) have been rumored as in mind for the role of Sinbad.

-The 7th Voyage of Sinbad

"The 8th Voyage will tell the tale of Sinbad’s quest to find the Aladdin’s lamp. Sinbad and his shipmates meet a beautiful empress and do battle with fantastic creatures and a rebellious Chinese general who threatens the kingdom."

Spike Jonze (Where The Wild Things Are) is a director who I'd think could make an interesting Sinbad film.

Casting Thought

I'd like to see Mark Ruffalo (Collateral, Zodiac) as Sinbad.
