Variety reports Mia Wasikowska is circling a role in John Hillcoat's (The Road, The Proposition)
The Wettest County / The Promise Land. The young Australian actress is slowly becoming a well known name with roles in Defiance, Alice In Wonderland, The Kids Are All Right and the upcoming Jane Eyre. Mia would join Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf and Jessica Chastain (Tree of Life, The Debt) in the prohibition drama.
The film is based on the novel by Matt Boundurant and is adapted by musician Nick Cave who also wrote The Proposition. I still hold out hope Cave will also score the film as well. It focuses on three brothers and their illegal alcohol business during the height of prohibition.
