Kevin Feige Sets Don Payne To Start Writing Thor 2

Marvel's Kevin Fegie dishes out some new information on Thor 2 to Movieline. He confirms that it's in development with Don Payne working on a story, who wrote the first film. It's expected that Branagh is likely to return directing another film. Kevin also mentions the mythology and extensive source material, I'm hoping this means that the next film will be more Asgard/Realm focused. As the sequel could be a straight up fantasy adventure film considering all the creatures, Asgardians and villains not explored.


“Listen… we’ve got 600+ issues, we’ve got a thousand years of mythology — we have other stories we’d like to tell,” Feige said. “The audience will tell us whether they’d like to see those other stories, but we have to be prepared for that, if we should get the call.”


“Don Payne is working on story ideas for a Part Two, We’ve got various options with Ken [Branagh] to discuss coming back, but right now the focus is on the first one. Don is, slowly but surely, thinking about where to take the character next should we be so lucky.”
