FIRST LOOK: Chris Pratt As Star-Lord In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, Plus Set Images From London

RUMOR: Hugh Jackman Offered $100 Million To Play WOLVERINE Four More Times?

TheNationalEnquirer (via CBM) "reports" that Aussie actor Hugh Jackman is apparently looking to make a major deal with 20th Century Fox and X-Men producers. The deal would see Jackman earn $100 million for being apart of four more X-Men films. The titles of those features are unknown but it's possible they could include a sequel to The Wolverine which has already reached over $300 million worldwide despite slow domestic numbers. It's also possible he could factor in Jeff Wadlow's X-Force, since he's been a major member of the modern lineup. There could also be plans for more films from Bryan Singer or Matthew Vaughn down the line as well. Which may allow Logan to team-up with either the First Class or the post-X3 teams. Hugh has been quite open about returning to the character in more films. A statement taken to heart as he jumped right back into the character for Days of Future Past, months after finishing production on The Wolverine.

SPECULATION: Is This Mystery Mutant From X-MEN DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Footage Cable Played By Josh Helman?

The picture above is from leaked footage of the teaser for X-Men Days of Future Past. There are some interesting first looks in including X-Force member Warpath. A character that could easily jump into the lineup for Jeff Wadlow's X-Force film which he's currently writing. However, while a majority of the mutants are known in the film one makes a surprise appearance. While the footage is too blurry to make who the actor is, it's very likely it could be Daniel Cudmore (Colossus).

However, the costume doesn't match-up with the promo image of Colossus which was released recently. My theory is this could actually be Australian actor Josh Helman (The Pacific) who was recently cast in the film. Leading me to believe he just might be playing Nathan Summers (better known as Cable), as the mutant is important of to be among other well known ones. The idea stems from this part of the footage being from the future era and is alongside Bishop. His costume has a similar look to one of Cable's, notice the yellow stripes. Also, that Cable is rumored to be lead character of the X-Force film and would need to be introduced to connect the film to the established X-Men franchise.

Vin Diesel In Talks To Play Groot In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY

While Guardians of The Galaxy is well underway with it's production (along with a teaser trailer making the rounds), two of the main characters have yet to be cast. Those being Rocket Raccoon (a role expected to go to a high profile actor) and Groot, two fully CGI heroes that will need voices. A new Facebook post from actor Vin Diesel picked up by HitFix points to Vin possibly playing Groot. As the actor posted an image of Groot on his page, as Diesel has been teasing for weeks now about playing a Marvel character and taking meetings about it with Marvel. His Riddick co-star Dave Bautista already nabbed the role of big bad bruiser Drax, so having Vin along for the ride seems possible. Considering his previous voice acting in animated film The Iron Giant.

UPDATE: Deadline confirms that Vin Diesel is indeed working out a deal currently with Marvel to play Groot in Guardians of The Galaxy. It's a smart move by Marvel to get a current name already attached to a rather large action franchise. Similar to hiring Zoe Saldana who is apart of both Star Trek and Avatar. Considering his box office status with the Fast and Furious film and his upcoming scfi-action flick Riddick he'll bring in foreign audiences. No word if there will be motion capture involved with the role.

RUMOR: Orlando Bloom Possible Front-Runner To Play New BATMAN?

TheDailyExpress (via ThinkMcFlyThink) reports that sources close to Warner Bros. are revealing that Lord of The Rings and Pirates of The Caribbean actor Orlando Bloom is the front-runner to play Batman. Bloom seems to have a strong relationship with the studio after reprising the role of Legolas in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug later this year. Considering his previous success with billion dollar franchises he could be a strong candidate to take over the Bat Cave. They also state that Ryan Gosling, Joseph Gordon-Levitt (hinted to in Rises he would become the new Batman) and Armie Hammer are still in the mix. Nothing is for sure, as there was talk of Christian Bale being offered $50 million to reprise the role.

It's starting to sound like Bruce Wayne will be played by an older actor with the torch being passed to a younger hero (John Blake?). Yet, I assume Wayne will have to come out of retirement to help his protege. Superman Vs. Batman is likely a way for Warner Bros. to give Snyder his Man of Steel sequel while setting up a new Batman for Justice League (and future Batman films). There had been rumblings of a Batman Beyond-type storyline for a purposed Batman follow-up to The Dark Knight Rises. Having John Blake and Terry McGinnis take over the mantle would allow future directors to keep Batman within the Gotham that Nolan created.

Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson And Antonio Banderas Confirmed For EXPENDABLES 3, Bruce Willis Exits

EW confirms that Mel Gibson will indeed play the villain of Expendables 3 with Stallone's Assassins co-star Antonio Banderas. The two will be next seen together in Machete Kills. It was also revealed earlier this week that Harrison Ford has joined the cast while Bruce Willis has exited the film. The rest of the new cast includes Wesley Snipes, Jackie Chan and Milla Jovovich.

RUMOR: Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Scott Adkins, Mark Strong And Bryan Cranston In The Mix For SUPERMAN VS BATMAN?

Apparently, Watchmen actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan is now in the mix for Batman according to ThinkMcflyThink. Matthew Goode, another Watchmen alumni had been linked for Superman Vs Batman as well. Jeffrey had been previously linked for the role of Lobo (rumored for Justice League) and even a possible Watchmen spin-off focusing on The Comedian. He even spoke to MovieHole about being involved with a Dark Knight Returns film back in 2009.

"I've heard Zack mention he'd like to do it in the media a few times recently. I'd love to see myself in that role. I don't think [Warner] will do it at the moment, not with what The Dark Knight is doing. But the studio loves Zack, and if Watchmen does as well as we hope it does, you never know, he might get a crack at this thing."

British action star/stuntman Scott Adkins (Expendables 2) might be in the mix as well. The martial artist has been campaigning for the part for a while now and seemingly has met with Warner Bros./ Zack Snyder about it. His Twitter account has posted a confirmation of sorts and included an image of Scott as the Caped Crusader. We've been hearing that the director wants a convincing fighter/scrapper for the role and Scott has some serious action chops. Then again, take this as a strong rumor.

There is also word (via LatinoReview & DigitalSpy) that both Mark Strong (Welcome To The Punch, Kick-Ass) and Bryan Cranston (Drive, Godzilla, Breaking Bad) are being considered for the villainous role of Lex Luthor. Strong had a bit part in The Green Lantern but has played a slew of awesome bad guys. Cranston has been making a splash over at WB which could help him land the iconic part. I also wouldn't be shocked if they're were considering re-casting Commissioner Jim Gordon with Bryan.

WOLVERINE Director James Mangold Open To Making A Sequel, Could We See Omega Red?

James Mangold's Wolverine is easily the best take we've seen on Logan and it's not surprising he's interested in making another one. He tells Yahoo! about what would be needed to be put into place for that to happen. A new colorful location similar to Japan might be reason for James to return. Here's hoping Fox does the right thing, putting this sequel together before both Mangold and Jackman walk from the franchise.

"If it presented me with the opportunity as this one did then yes. What I mean is the location and the world in Japan really presented me with a unique set of freedoms. Certainly any project with Hugh is enticing, but if someone came to me, or I came up with a strategy that stays as inventive and as exciting, I wouldn’t hesitate to do another one.

I have to imagine a location not really explored in depth within the X-Men universe is a modern Russia. Yes, we saw a Cold War era Russia in First Class and even some mutants. Mangold took a lot of influence from Japanese cinema and even previous films set there. There are plenty of Russian influence cinema that could help move the film forward such as Eastern Promises, Enemy At The Gates and Doctor Zhivago to name a few. Maybe not just Russia, having Wolverine travel throughout Europe and Eastern Europe could be visually different than previous X-Men films as well.

One of Logan's biggest and well known villains is also Russian. Arkady Rossovich better known as Omega Red has yet to grace the X-Men Cinematic Universe. The serial killer was chosen as a human test subject for the KGB's own failed super soldier program. He eventually becomes a cyborg vampire and a massive problem that needs to be dealt with. He has ties to both Hydra and the Russian mob so it wouldn't be hard to adapt him for the film or even change his origin.

Viper (a Hungarian member of Hydra with the name of Ophelia Sarkissian) could easily have connections to Rossovich. A few hints were given in The Wolverine. Mainly, being a blond rather than having her iconic dark hair. I assume this change was to connect her to the blond villain (her brother or father?). The robotics used in the film and Viper's genetics background could also be a precursor to Arkady becoming Omega Red. It's possible Viper was trying to get a hold of Logan's healing factor for Arkady too, who possesses a similar power. Fox could have also made the drastic changes due to the rights issues surrounding Madame Hydra/Ophelia Sarkissian (best known as a Captain America villain). They might have only had use to the costume and the codename Viper.

Omega Red has actually been hinted to previously in X2 when a file with the same name was shown on one of computers at Stryker's compound.

An actor who I'd love to see take the role is Daniel Craig. We really haven't seen him within the superhero genre, not counting his role as the iconic James Bond. Daniel is actually quite the solid villain and proved this in The Road To Perdition. He has also played a Russian before in the WWII action drama Defiance alongside Liev Schreiber who played Sabertooth (the best aspect of Origins) previously. Daniel even has a few lines in Russian which were convincing enough and could make him a huge draw for audiences. Craig also has connections to First Class director Matthew Vaughn (currently producing Fantastic Four for Fox), who gave Craig his big shot in Layer Cake (where he even pretended to be Bond in a funny scene). That role led to Daniel landing the Bond gig and a majority of his success. Not to mention that Hugh Jackman and Daniel are friends also working together on the play A Steady Rain.

Gerard Butler Also In The Mix For New Batman In BATMAN VS SUPERMAN?

We recently heard names like Josh Brolin being the front-runner to play the new Batman in Zack Snyder's Batman Vs. Superman. However, LatinoReview reveals that Snyder alumni Gerard "300" Butler is also in the mix. Bulter has the size and action background needed for the part. It doesn't hurt he already has a previously working relationship with Zack and the studio. He's also in a position to commit to more films (such as Justice League installments) since he doesn't have other franchises on the horizon. Gosling might commit to three Star Wars films which is why I don't really think he's in any serious contention for the part.

Actors Up For Batman Role In Zack Snyder's BATMAN VS SUPERMAN Include Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Richard Artimage, Matthew Goode And Joe Manganiello

THR are revealing a list of names who might be considered by the studio for Zack Snyder's Batman role in Batman Vs. Superman. The group includes Josh Brolin (American Gangster, Sin City 2), Ryan Gosling (Drive, The Place Beyond The Pines), Richard Armitage (Hobbit Trilogy, Strike Back, Captain America: The First Avenger), Max Martini (Pacific Rim, The Unit), Joe Manganiello (Spider-Man, True Blood) and Matthew Goode (Watchmen).

Josh and Ryan previously worked together in WB's Gangster Squad. It's screenwriter Will Becall had been hired to pen a Justice League film. That draft had been scrapped likely to make way for Batman Vs. Superman instead. Joe Manganiello had been in the running and championed by Snyder for the role of Superman before Henry Cavill landed the lead in Man of Steel. So his chances are extremely high. Richard Armitage is already apart of billion dollar franchise at WB, playing Thorin Oakenshield in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit Trilogy. Goode previously worked with Snyder on Watchmen and could be a candidate that Snyder is pushing for as well.

PROMETHEUS Sequel Will Be Penned By TRANSCENDENCE Writer Jack Paglen

20th Century Fox is moving right along with their sequel to Prometheus which is set within the Alien universe and somewhat a prequel as well. The film that is rumored to have working title of Paradise has finally landed a new screenwriter. TheWrap reported a while back that newcomer Jack Paglen will be writing the film (I assume with notes from Ridley Scott and the studio). Jack is best known for the script for Wally Pfister's sci-fi action film Transcendence which has Johnny Depp in the lead.

Damon Lindelof confirmed he wasn't coming back to write the sequel. His rewrites to Jon Spaihts' original script seemingly hurt the film overall when the two scripts were posted online and compared by fans. Let's hope that Jack will have more creative freedom than previous writers (ala Joss Whedon) However, when it comes to the Alien saga Fox has a terrible track record of giving screenwriters breathing room to make one single vision. I'm sure the studio has a release date already in mind and Jack will have to deliver a draft soon. Either way, Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender are attached to reprise their roles.

Elizabeth Debicki Joins The Cast Of Guy Ritchie's THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.

Variety reports that Australian actress Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby) has joined the cast of Guy Ritchie's The Man From U.N.C.L.E. The rest of the cast includes Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer and Alicia Vikander. Elizabeth apparently beat out actresses such as Rose Byrne and Charlize Theron for the part.
