RUMOR: Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Scott Adkins, Mark Strong And Bryan Cranston In The Mix For SUPERMAN VS BATMAN?

Apparently, Watchmen actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan is now in the mix for Batman according to ThinkMcflyThink. Matthew Goode, another Watchmen alumni had been linked for Superman Vs Batman as well. Jeffrey had been previously linked for the role of Lobo (rumored for Justice League) and even a possible Watchmen spin-off focusing on The Comedian. He even spoke to MovieHole about being involved with a Dark Knight Returns film back in 2009.

"I've heard Zack mention he'd like to do it in the media a few times recently. I'd love to see myself in that role. I don't think [Warner] will do it at the moment, not with what The Dark Knight is doing. But the studio loves Zack, and if Watchmen does as well as we hope it does, you never know, he might get a crack at this thing."

British action star/stuntman Scott Adkins (Expendables 2) might be in the mix as well. The martial artist has been campaigning for the part for a while now and seemingly has met with Warner Bros./ Zack Snyder about it. His Twitter account has posted a confirmation of sorts and included an image of Scott as the Caped Crusader. We've been hearing that the director wants a convincing fighter/scrapper for the role and Scott has some serious action chops. Then again, take this as a strong rumor.

There is also word (via LatinoReview & DigitalSpy) that both Mark Strong (Welcome To The Punch, Kick-Ass) and Bryan Cranston (Drive, Godzilla, Breaking Bad) are being considered for the villainous role of Lex Luthor. Strong had a bit part in The Green Lantern but has played a slew of awesome bad guys. Cranston has been making a splash over at WB which could help him land the iconic part. I also wouldn't be shocked if they're were considering re-casting Commissioner Jim Gordon with Bryan.

Richard T. Jones Joins GODZILLA

Variety reports that Richard T. Jones (Event Horizon) has joined the cast of Godzilla which is currently shooting in Vancouver, Canada. The rest of the cast consists of Aaron Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, Ken Watanabe, David Strathaim and Juliette Binoche.

Warner Bros. has announced production is underway on their Godzilla reboot with Gareth Edwards at the helm. The studio also has confirmed the reboot's cast which includes previously linked actors such as Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass 1-2, Nowhere Boy, Anna Karenina), Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston (Argo, Drive, Breaking Bad), Juliette Bincohe (The English Patient), David Strathairn (Bourne Ultimatum) and new addition Ken Watanabe (Batman Begins, Inception) who has a long history with the studio.

Juliette Binoche In Talks For GODZILLA

Variety reports that French actress Juliette Binoche (Chocolat, The English Patient) is in talks for a role for Legendary Pictures' Godzilla reboot. The rest of the cast could include Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass), Bryan Cranston (Argo, Drive) and Elizabeth Olsen (who confirmed herself).

Elizabeth Olsen Confirmed For GODZILLA

While actress Elizabeth Olsen along with Bryan Cranston had been in-talks for roles in Gareth Edwards' Godzilla reboot. Neither had been locked-in until now. Olsen has confirmed her role (via CBM) and mentions the film will be dramatic heavy.

"I'm about to film Godzilla in the Spring so that's the next thing I'm working on!" When asked about making the transition from dramas to a big budget blockbuster, Olsen jokingly added: "Well, Godzilla is actually going to be a very heavy drama! It's definitely going to be a very different take on the past Godzilla's..."

Variety reports that both Elizabeth Olsen (Red Lights, Oldboy, Martha Marcy May Marlene) and Bryan Cranston (Argo, Drive, Breaking Bad) are both in talks for roles in Legendary Pictures' American Godzilla reboot. They are currently waiting for a finished script (currently being rewritten by Frank Darabont) before agreeing to star. Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass 1-2,  Nowhere Boy) had been previously offered the lead role (which is expected to be an American soldier).

Bryan Cranston Could Have Played The Villain In 'X-MEN FIRST CLASS'

While you may think that Bryan Cranston (John Carter, Total Recall, Drive, ) aims to be in every big film during an interview with Collider he reveals he turned down a rather big film. Bryan says he had been offered the role of Sebastian Shaw the leader of the Hellfire Club and villain of X-Men First Class while looking at another project. He weighed the two roles by how much he liked the characters and went with Nicolas Winding Refn's Drive instead. He mentions there was another role offered which I'd have assume was Stryker.

I read for the Kevin Bacon role in X-Men: First Class. And it was like, “Ah, there’s a possibility. ” Then there was this thing happening over here. It’s kind of like things coming up like materials and projects that are coming in and out. Quite often, it’s almost like a wave. “Here it comes, here it comes. . . oh no, that wave didn’t break. ” Why? Funding went this way, the lead dropped out, any number of things can happen. Or the studio says it’s too much money. Projects ebb and flow all the time, and the same thing in an actor’s career. There’s interest, and there’s ebbing and flowing all the time. “You have the offer! Oh, no you don’t. ” So, that was happening. They offered it to Kevin, and they offered me a different role in it.


At the same time, I read Drive, and I thought, “Oh, this is what I’d rather do. ” I turned down X-Men for the role in Drive because I liked the character better. Much better. The experience with Ryan Gosling and Albert Brooks and Ron Perlman and Carey [Mulligan]—it was terrific. We had a great time. What was so much fun about it is that we’d go over to Nicolas Refn’s, the director’s, house in the canyons, and we’d all get together with the writer, and we would pitch out ideas and thoughts. “What about this? What about that? ” There’s nothing more satisfying than to have your thoughts and comments welcomed and incorporated in the script. So, we really feel ownership and part of that. You’re not just a hired hand, coming in, doing your job, and leaving. And Nicolas took a real kind of film noir, European feel to it, and it’s really hip and cool.

Cranston has a massive following thanks to Breaking Bad which is going into it's last season. I'm sure he'll be pursued again by Fox for the First Class sequel. If the sequel is taking cues from Days of Future Past we could see humans becoming the villains creating the Sentinels. Scientists Bolivar Trask and Stephen Lang are some of the people involved with the creation of the Sentinels.

Trask had appeared in X3 played by Bill Duke (Predator, Commando) and his character is credited for building Magneto's prison and the mutant prisoner transport which held Raven, Juggernaut and Multiple Man. First Class is a reboot of sorts so I wouldn't be shocked to see Trask retooled.

Len Wiseman Says Total Recall Trailer Is Coming In March

While speaking with Collider director Len Wiseman (Underworld, Die Hard 4) revealed we could be seeing the Total Recall trailer sometime in March. He also mentioned that his director's cut of the reboot clocks in around two hours. Don't expect a Super Bowl ad this year as Sony passed on the $4 million price tag for a 30 second spot.

Kate Beckinsale Talks Total Recall

Kate Beckinsale while speaking with Collider about Underworld: Awakening revealed the details about playing Lori in the Total Recall reboot. Apparently, director Len Wiseman's take on her character was to combine both Lori (Sharon Stone) and Richter (Michael Ironside) into one single person. An interesting concept as it's the first time we've heard confirmation and reason why Richter had been left out of casting announcements. The reboot is set to be released on August 3rd 2012.

“It’s going really great, and everyone’s very excited about it.  I suppose the thing is, Sharon Stone’s interpretation of Lori is safe because my character is more… It is Lori, but it’s an amalgamation of Lori and Richter.  So I guess one of the differences about our movie as opposed to their movie is in that period of time they needed her to have a right hand man.  I am the right hand man and Lori at the same time.  So it’s a little bit more of an amalgamation of a couple of parts.”

Casting For Ben Affleck's Argo Is Coming Together

I rarely find an actor that I prefer to see behind the camera but Ben Affleck's films Gone Baby Gone and The Town are masterpieces in my opinion. While I'm upset that Affleck isn't directing mobster period drama Gangster Squad which was offered to him. Argo however has an interesting concept and could end up surprising me as The Town did. Set in 1979, the film is about a covert mission orchestrated by the CIA to rescue U.S. diplomat hostages in Tehran. They did this by pretending to set up a Hollywood production for a sci-fi movie called Argo and actually employed producers and make-up artists to help make it all look real.

The film's cast is shaping up to be an odd mix of newcomers and vets. It includes Affleck, Alan Arkin (Little Miss Sunshine), Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad, Drive), John Goodman (Big Lebowski), Kyle Chandler (Super8, King Kong), Rory Cochrane (Public Enemies, Dazed & Confused), Michael Parks (Kill Bill, Red State), Scoot McNairy (Monsters, Cogan's Trade), Taylor Schilling (Dark Matter), Tate Donovan (Friends, Shooter), Nelson Franklin (Office, Scott Pilgrim), Victor Garber (Milk) and Richard Kind (A Serious Man). 

Will Yun Lee Joins Total Recall

ShowBlitz reports that Will Yun Lee has joined Len Wiseman's Total Recall reboot. Supporting roles in the film are quickly coming together as production is expected to start up soon in Pinewood Studios Toronto. The impressive cast includes Colin Farrell, Bryan Cranston, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, John Cho, Bill Nighy and Bokeem Woodbine.

John Cho Joins Len Wiseman's Total Recall

Casting is starting to quickly come together for Total Recall as director Len Wiseman fills the rest of the supporting roles. EW reports that John Cho (Star Trek) is the newest addition to the film. Cho will play the fast-talking rep for Rekall who convinces Douglas (Farrell) to get the memory implant. Starring as Douglas Quaid is Colin Farrell (In Bruges, Minority Report), Kate Beckinsale will play his wife Lori, Jessica Biel his revolutionary girlfriend Melina, Bryan Cranston (John Carter, Drive) is confirmed for the villain, Bill Nighy (Underworld) is in talks for role of the resistance leader and Bokeem Woodbine will play Douglas' friend.

Bill Nighy In Talks For Len Wiseman's Total Recall

HeatVision reports that Bill Nighy (Pirates 2-3, Underworld, Shuan of The Dead, ) is in talks for the role of resistance leader Quatto in Total Recall. In the original film Kuato was a mutant but it's unknown if this version of the character will be too. Since it's been assumed the Mars colony is also gone in the remake. Nighy would join Bryan Cranston, Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel and Bokeem Woodbine (The Big Hit).
