Michael Fassbender Could Join Ridley Scott's Counselor

Deadline reports that one Hollywood's hottest actors could end up as the lead in Ridley Scott's hard boiled thriller The Counselor. Michael Fassbender along with other top actors are being looked for the lead role. Fassbender is in high demand with Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave starting production this summer. I assume he could end up working around the two productions considering Michael isn't the main actor of Slave. Since The Counselor is going to be a smaller studio project. He recently worked alongside Ridley on Prometheus so that relationship could come into play.

The film is based on a spec-script written by the iconic writer Cormac McCarthy. McCarthy's novels such as The Road and No Country For Oldmen have previously been turned into films. Ridley recently signed on to direct the film that is eyeing an early May production start. This project is set in a violence fueled drug trade world not unlike No Country For Oldmen. A respected lawyer who thinks he can dip a toe in to the drug business without getting sucked down. It is a bad decision and he tries his best to survive it and get out of a desperate situation.
