Marvel Announces BLACK PANTHER Movie For 2017 And Confirms Chadwick Boseman For The Role

Today was Marvel's huge event at the El Capitan Theatre. They made some massive announcements, which we'll go over in a little bit. The biggest one being, that they've greenlit a Black Panther movie. Setting the release for November 2017 and confirming actor Chadwick Boseman (42, Get On Up) for the role. LatinoReview was the first site to stand-firm Chad was set for the role. They have been proven right, yet again.

We also have a piece of official concept art, which gives a mix of the traditional costume with some modern sleekness attributed to the cinematic universe. T'Challa will also have a big role in Captain America: Civil War, which will lead to the hero getting his own solo outing. Mark Bailey's script might still be the blueprint, but a new writer or director wasn't announced at the event. This also begs the question, is Andy Serkis indeed playing Klaw in Age of Ultron? Exciting times for Marvel fans indeed!

Claudia Kim Might Be The Fourth Lady In AVENGERS AGE OF ULTRON But What Is Her Role?

Besides the reveal of Andy Serkis in the teaser trailer for Age of Ultron, one more thing fans are curious about. Who is that third woman at that party scene with the rest of the Avengers? It hasn't been confirmed but it looks like it just might be Claudia Kim.



Claudia's role in Avengers Age of Ultron might be bigger than we are expecting. Considering she very well might be the third lady at the party Ultron crashes in the recent teaser trailer. A lot of people were claiming this was just Jane Foster played by Natalie Portman, but she was never added to the film's lineup. Kim actually confirmed her role in the film to ScreenSlam on the red carpet of the premeire of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.



I think it's more mysterious who her character might turnout to be in the film, rather than the fact she's getting screen time in the teaser. Mainly, because there are so many female roles to be filled for the Marvel cinematic universe. Sometimes we can over estimate a supporting actresses' role the Marvel films. However, Joss Whedon confirmed to HeyUGuys that fourth female character fit into the film somehow. Is it possible that Kim's character is that fourth lady?

At this point all we know about Claudia's character is that she is "a doctor/sciencetist who is friends with Tony Stark". A pretty damn vague character description, which must make Marvel less nervous about her talking to press about it. Who could Kim be playing?

That list is a long one, but a couple of key characters might fit well into this storyline. One name that comes to mind is Betty Ross, the scientist peer of Bruce Banner. Kevin, Mark and Joss have all spoke to the increased role Banner will have in the sequel, so it wouldn't be hard to imagine having important people in his life show-up, now that's living stateside.

We know that it's extremely possible the rest of the Incredible Hulk cast will be rebooted, having a new actress play Betty would be a natural step. Even more so if Marvel was indeed planning on moving forward with a new Hulk film. Betty also worked with SHIELD during the Ultimates, which the movies are heavily influenced by. She would also eventually become a hulk herself (Red She-Hulk). Including her would be a possible way to get around the use of Jennifer Walters and another green hulk, for the moment. Would Marvel push forward with another superpowered heroine other than Captain Marvel?

The friend aspect might clue us in as well. We do know that Tony's best buddy is Jim Rhodes who works for the Air Force. Well there is a female Marvel character that also works for the Air Force. That would be Carol Danvers (not to mention the C.I.A. and NASA), better known as Ms Marvel/Captain Marvel. It wouldn't be much of a stretch to make Carol friends with Rhodey, placing her into Stark's circle of friends. Danvers has a background with the C.I.A. and they've already established Sharon Carter is working with them after leaving SHIELD. There have been rumblings Claudia's character could have twist and his hiding among the Avengers for other motives. It's possible she's spying for the US Government (C.I.A.?) or whatever SHIELD has become after it's fall.

Carol isn't a stranger to science as well, and does spend some time working for NASA. This working environment could lead to the accident that gives her powers, or something similar to what happened in the comics.

Marvel is in active-development of a Captain Marvel film, and a script had already been drafted at one point. There was even early casting talk back in 2012, which was linked to the Avengers sequel. We've also heard buzz about her cameo in the film, being referred to as Ms Marvel at the end of the film. It would seem odd to have her at the end of the film. Could this be the reason why Marvel hasn't announced Captain Marvel, because they want to keep her a secret for Age of Ultron?

Another idea is that she's a member of the every sneaky HYDRA, who already have a presence in this film with Strucker creating the twins (Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch) and likely Captain America 3. A super-spy character like this wouldn't have much trouble embedding herself with someone like Tony Stark or the Avengers. We've been dying for Madame Hydra to finally show-up, in the films, and they are lacking in the way of developed female villains in the MCU. Marvel still owns the rights to use Madam Hydra as she's a long standing Captain America and Avengers villain. One of her aliases "Viper" was used in The Wolverine, mainly because of her connection to the hero and the X-Men. While none of her connections to Hydra were used in the film, including her codename/title or real name. Although, they did make Viper a doctor/scientist in the film. We know that Marvel has a slight issue with Fox, and have no problem pushing forward with characters already in the X-Men stable that they share. Adding Madame Hydra to the fold wouldn't surprise me a bit.

Another aspect to Madame Hydra is her roots with Asia. She has ties to the Yakuza in Japan, not to mention is the ruler/dictator of the fictional island country of Madripoor. HYDRA controlled country modelled after Singapore, that just happens to be located in Southeast Asia. The island is the launching-ground for many of the group's terrorist plots. While the island is very James Bond, it existing might explain where they could be setting up shop, once they've been rooted out of North America and Europe. Yes, the location is connected to X-Men, but I think the fact it also has a Hydra link might give them the ability to share it with Fox. Hiring an Asian actress like Kim for the role of Ophelia would make sense, but it also wouldn't be a requirement.

Marvel shot on location in South Korea, while I doubt they would replace the country with the fictional location of Madripoor (Hydra's base of operations). There is already talk of Italy doubling for Marvel's fictional Eastern European country Latveria (home of Wanda and Pietro Maximoff), and possibly (unlikely) that the South Africa shoot would include scenes for Wakanda (birthplace and kingdom of Black Panther). All three locations are fictional Marvel countries and could be a way to expand the scale of the Earthbound mythology for future movies.

We already know that Marvel is ramping-up Captain America 3, and having Hydra return in a big way is key. Tony Stark getting involved in the film brings-up a lot of possible story angles, which will spark the events of Civil War. Stark resurrecting SHIELD, for selfish reasons or restore the legacy of his father (Howard Stark helped create the organization). He eventually becomes the director of SHIELD (already rumored Tony takes a Fury role in MCU) and this could put the events in motion that sees the Avengers team split-up and fight each other.

What could possibly piss-off Rogers even more than rebuilding SHIELD after he spent all that effort and blood tearing it down? Working with the enemy to get results. Stark might not have that strong connection fighting Hydra, and might see them as an asset if twisted in his favor. There is point where he makes deals with the likes of Baron Zemo and the Thunderbolts (the return of Crossbones?). Tony working with a now legitimized Hydra could push Steve over the edge. Fuelling another attempt to takedown a bulling government organization that Rogers sees as corrupt and harmful to the world. These possible actions mixed with a "join SHIELD or be imprisoned" policy with the SRA, could lead to some crazy shit going down.

The thought of Stark becoming the unintentional villain of Captain America 3 would be worth seeing come together. Giving that amazing edge that we saw in Winter Soldier, where basically the rules of a superhero film are kind of thrown out the window to give us a strong/compelling story. The title Captain America: The Fallen Son could also allude to Stark's heroic status slowly fading away.

Could Kim take on the villainous role of Ophelia Sarkissian, alongside Baron Strucker and the modern incarnation of HYDRA? Will she playing more of a supporting role as Betty Ross or the future heroine Carol Danvers? The answers are clearly, we don't know for sure. And until someone get's confirmation from studio sources we're going to be in the dark for a little while. Who do you think Claudia Kim is playing in the Avengers sequel? And remember HAIL HYDRA!

The Russo Brothers In-Talks With Marvel To Direct AVENGERS 3 And AVENGERS 4?

BadassDigest has one more bit of big Marvel news, they are reporting that The Russo Brothers are already in-talks to direct Avengers 3 and Avengers 4. This would mean that they'd be committed to making three more films for Marvel Studios. Which in my opinion is the best thing for Marvel, keep these two locked-down as your directing team. This would mean Joss Whedon wouldn't be directing future installments, leaving him free to direct other things.

How closely will Captain America 3 tie in with Avengers 3? I've been told that the Russo Brothers are in talks to direct Avengers 3 and possibly 4. Sources tell me that they're the favorites of Marvel right now and that they are the guys Kevin Feige want to pick up the mantle from Joss Whedon.

The directing siblings proved on so many levels they understand and cherish this source material. The Winter Soldier, gave us solid villains with while reintroducing us to heroes we thought we knew. Widow became a hardened badass and given the screen time/scenes she deserves. Rogers finally becomes the loveable righteous hero from the comics, we want to root for. Not just a snarky boy-scout which was shown in Avengers.

If this turns out to be true, I can't imagine how awesome future Avengers installments could be. The duo is already wowing me with how they're tackling Captain America 3, by incorporating the Civil War stuff. Something fans imagined would actually never happen.

Joss Whedon stepping aside and giving over the Avengers to the Russo Brothers makes sense. We know that Whedon isn't a fan of directing all these conflicting heroes and powers. He seemingly could want to tell a more linear type of superhero story. We know that he's been mulling around ideas for new Hulk film with Mark Ruffalo, starting back in 2012.

There is also the possibility of Whedon moving-on from Avengers to help Marvel make tough projects like Black Panther or Captain Marvel. We know that both are in active develop at the studio and have outlines/early drafts kicking-around. Whedon working his magic on those two heroes could be something extremely special. It's not a bad thing to see Joss move-on from Avengers, as long as he's sticking around for other things within the MCU.

Robert Downey Jr. Joins CAPTAIN AMERICA 3, Film Sparks The CIVIL WAR

A huge update concerning Captain America 3 has just landed, thanks to Variety. The trade is reporting that Robert Downey Jr. is in final talks to play Tony Stark in the third installment. Captain America 3 is also said to be launching-point for the epic Civil War storyline. It's unknown at this point if the whole film will be apart of Civil War, or it will setup everything to actually happen in Avengers 3. The two films will likely round-out the actors' contracts with Marvel. They also mention this will lead to a whole group of heroes who will step-up. It might be safe to say one of these films will have the subheading "Civil War".

Civil War pertains to the comic book conflict between Iron Man and Captain America, as the government forces including Stark enact Superhero Registration Act. People with powers or abilities have to agree to reveal themselves and becoming a policing force or risk imprisonment. Each hero chooses a different side with Iron Man becoming the government mouth-piece, while Captain America rounds-up his own team willing to go toe-to-toe with Stark's. It's a huge story and likely will need many more characters than are already kicking-around the MCU.

I had already noticed possible seeds to Civil War, from set images of Stark seemingly resurrecting a new form of SHIELD. Something I'm sure will piss-off Rogers in Age of Ultron. This would explain why the future films and Avengers installments would focus on other heroes. Civil War is a way to kill or retire our main lineup, without having fans freakout about it. It would also be a great time for Thanos to show-up in Avengers 3, among the chaos of Earth's heroes at each other's throats.

Captain America 3 has a release date of May 6, 2016 with production set to begin this spring.

Jeremy Renner Game For A HAWKEYE Spin-Off Film

Another week, and another Marvel actor has changed their tune. Robert Downey Jr. flip-flopped when asked about Iron Man 4's development last week. Only to reveal that there were indeed zero plans to make it at the moment. Now while promoting his buzz-worthy film Kill The Messenger, Jeremy Renner is changing previous statements concerning a Hawkeye solo movie.

Renner had been asked about his desire to have a solo outing as Clint Barton, but was quick to point-out that his character was getting flushed-out in Age of Ultron and possibly Captain America 3. Being completely comfortable with being apart of the assemble. However, during his Reddit AMA he sounded a bit more optimistic, that's if Marvel decides to make a spin-off focusing on Mr. Barton. Here's what Jeremy had to say when asked about a Hawkeye movie (maybe West Coast Avengers?).

"Am I interested? Always have been interested. I always love Clint, and in the last Avengers: Age of Ultron, we got to dive into him some more. Very excited about the outcome of it, and where it can go in the future. But all I can do is want. And that's all I can do. It all comes down to the content, and really how the puppeteers at Marvel can manifest a story that's worthy of a solo movie. Not sure what that is, or how that is, but I'm confident they can do whatever they want, if they want to do it. And I'd be game."

RUMOR: Sony Allowing Spider-Man To Join Marvel Cinematic Universe And Will Recast For SINISTER SIX?

I'm going to be up-front, the following is a rumor and flagged as such by the source. HitFix is saying they are "hearing" but can't currently verify, that Sony is considering Spider-Man to join Marvel's Cinematic Universe. Let's be clear nothing is happening, these are only rumblings that Sony is thinking about this. Below is what Drew had to say about this rumor. 

"While I can't get the confirmations I need to verify the story, I'm hearing that there are some very cool "Spider-Man" plans being discussed that would help Sony refocus their enormously important franchise while also opening up some connections in the onscreen Marvel movie universe that would blow fandom's minds. Will it work out? I don't know. I would love to be able to state for sure that it's happening. What seems clear from what I've heard is that Marvel wants to be able to play with all of their characters, and if they can make that work creatively and on a corporate level, they will, and that means the world gets bigger again."

Adding fuel to the fire, BadassDigest is claiming that Sony is going even further and recasting the role for Drew Goddard's Sinister Six. That would mean Andrew Garfield would be out and that we'll see a third actor portraying Peter Parker. Also, Alex Kurtzman's Venom spin-off is apparently dead (that really came out of nowhere). Neither of these have been confirmed by Sony, but Devin has a good track record with this sort of stuff. Here's what Devin is hearing about Sony's bizarre Spider-Man plans. 

- Sony is going to soft reboot Spider-Man with The Sinister Six, having a new actor playing a Spidey who works with the villains The Dirty Dozen style to take down a larger threat. 

- Sony is going to put Spider-Man on the shelf for four or five years and see if they can develop any of the side characters into their own franchises. 

I've also heard that Venom is functionally dead again.

Don't get the impression that we'll be seeing Spidey swinging around in Age of Ultron, because it's too late in the game to add him into the main film. However, it's not out of the question to have him involved with Easter Eggs, via digital shots or props within the film. Having one of the Avengers reading The Daily Bugle might be just enough to give fans something to strive for. Button scenes are likely to leak via sites like LatinoReview, so it's doubtful they'll add him to one of those. 

This could be the shot-in-the-arm for a franchise that is quickly losing it's support from fans and audiences alike. While Amazing Spider-Man remains to be popular overseas, the returns are diminishing with each installment domestically. Not the best sign of a healthy superhero franchise. The second film failed to connect with audiences, and Sony delayed production on Amazing Spider-Man 3. Instead, they're moving forward with Sinister Six and an untitled female-led spin-off (Blackcat?). Devin states that Spider-Man (played by a new actor) will be in Sinister Six, but that might be the last we see of him for a while. As Sony might be putting an immediate holt to Amazing Spider-Man 3, for a couple of years. 

All this sounds like Sony is scrambling to figure out how to keep this franchise alive, and rushing into a third film doesn't seem to be apart of these plans. Having Spider-Man be apart of Captain America 3 (rumored to have elements of Civil War) or Avengers 3 could mend those bridges with fans. The studio doesn't seem to know what to do, but having Marvel help-out is the best case scenario. Since, it's very unlikely Sony will sell back the rights. This could end-up being more of a case of how Marvel is able to use/share characters like Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver with Fox. 

On our part, we know that Sony's relationship with Marvel is a bit less cantankerous than it is with Fox. Even though Marvel's Kevin Feige remains good friends with X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner. The studio itself seems to butt-heads with Marvel on character details. It was rumored that Marvel wasn't willing to allow the Deadpool movie to be rated-R. Considering he's one of the more popular characters and does feature in their comics, video games and cartoons. You can't blame them, but it kind of shows how much say Marvel still has with these projects. These heated studio conflicts haven't dampened Lauren and Hugh Jackman's wiliness to join the Cinematic Universe. Jackman an X-Men producer himself, has also called for Wolverine and Spidey to join the ranks.

Will BOURNE LEGACY Sequel Delays Give Jeremy Renner Time To Shoot Scenes For CAPTAIN AMERICA 3?

It's being reported that Universal is putting the breaks on the Bourne Legacy sequel, in favor for Matt Damon's return. This isn't the worst thing for Jeremy Renner. The sequel's looming production put in question if he'd be able to shoot scenes for Captain America 3. Renner's Clint Barton was originally expected to have a part to play in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (confirmed by directors The Russo Brothers and Renner), but scheduling became a bit of a problem.

Nothing is ruling-out Renner showing-up in this other Bourne project. However, I'd expect it to be just Damon and Greengrass. Director Justin Lin has been linked for directing a couple of season two episodes of HBO's True Detective, it adds more fuel to the thought we'll see further production delays.

Jeremy mentioned to Collider he would be game to be apart of the third film, that's if his production schedule allowed him to. He's currently shooting Mission: Impossible 5, but with Bourne delays it's possible that Renner could be available for the April start on Captain America 3. The Russo Brothers are also open to the idea, and I'd love to see them work with the character. They've done wonders reworking both Rogers and Natasha. We've been hearing that Marvel has big plans for Hawkeye, as the Avenger will have a larger role in Age of Ultron. In the comics, Barton takes-on a leadership role as the team leader of The West Coast Avengers, a splinter group of the main lineup. There are already rumors that Steve Rogers starts putting together a second team by the end of Ultron.

“There are rumblings of Captain America 3. I don’t know what’s going to happen there. I’ve got to find the time, man (laughs). I’m trying to stay home and I can’t.” 

Robert Downey Jr Weighs-In On BLACK WIDOW, HAWKEYE And HULK Movies

Robert Downey Jr. is in a cool position, as he's signed-on to reprise the role of Tony Stark one more time in Avengers 3. The third installment isn't due until 2018-2019. Meaning, the elder statesman of the Marvel cinematic universe isn't going anywhere for some time. Allowing him to be outspoken about Marvel chatter concerning rumors and future projects. Speaking to USAToday, Robert did just that addressing Marvel's delay in announcing a Black Widow spin-off film.

The delay has sparked a bit of criticism, not having a female superhero officially announced as part of Marvel's future releases. Even more so, in the wake of the female Spider-Man spin-off at Sony and unofficially Warner Bros. solo Wonder Woman movie. Robert simply states the obvious and rational question, "doesn't Scarlett deserve a break?"

“Look, I think that the interesting thing particularly after [Guardians of the Galaxy] with Zoe [Saldana], even from the first Iron Man where Pepper was kind of this really – to me the Iron Man franchise would never have taken off without [Gwyneth] Paltrow. There’s something about her that grounded the story. She’s not your typical lady in a superhero movie, and then by Iron Man 3 she’s swallowing serums and putting on suits and kicking [butt] and all that stuff. It would be kind of more appropriate for a character that already was like a Black Widow [to lead a movie]. It just seems like whatever Scarlett does people want to go see it.” 

He makes some valid-points. Scarlett has played Black Widow in four movies, and could be expected to be apart of future projects. We all understand the demand for her own solo adventure. But it's really up to her when she wants to go back to making films, as a new mother. I think we can all respect that, even if it might delay production on a solo outing for a couple of years.

Oddly enough, Robert continues the discussion by pondering solo movies for both Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). The latter we've been hearing for sometime development on a new Hulk film, going back to 2012. Indestructible Hulk and Planet Hulk story theories have been circling for a couple of years. Ruffalo and Joss Whedon teased in Avengers press tour, that two could work together on developing a new film (Whedon possibly writing the script).

“The funny thing is honestly at this point everyone deserves a franchise. I think Jeremy Renner is — when folks see the Avengers: Age of Ultron he’s just a rockstar, a badass. And Ruffalo is pumped. He does great (work). I’d like to hear them talk even more seriously about a Hulk franchise, because that’s been one of the toughest ones to get right. But I’m sure that my parent company is feeling expansive and and bold after the summer they’ve had.”

Again, we hear from RDJ how impressive Jeremy's role in Avengers: Age of Ultron will be, hyping-up the character even more. It's possible Clint Barton could have an equally strong role in Captain America 3 as well. Originally, filmmakers wanted and wrote Barton into The Winter Soldier. Renner had to decline due to other projects. I've been under the impression that Renner could lead a West Coast Avengers film. That's if Marvel indeed plans on splinting the main group into two teams. Which is already rumored for Age of Ultron, leading up to the events of Civil War. Finally, giving Hawkeye more of a main character role than previous movies.

Villains And Other Things I Want To See In CAPTAIN AMERICA 3!

Production is about to begin on untitled Captain America 3 in April, and a draft of the script is already in the hands of the directing-duo The Russo Brothers. The two have giving hints to what expect from the third installment, while keeping tight-lipped as part of the usual business of working for Marvel Studios. I have a few ideas of who the villains should be, and a bit of the direction of the film.


VILLAINS!

Let's get this out of the way first, the Russo Brothers have all but confirmed the return of Rumlow (Crossbones) and Bucky (Winter Soldier), so their inclusion won't be much of a surprise. We keep hearing an odd fan-demand to bring back The Red Skull, I'm actually shocked considering how many more rogues Rogers has in the waiting.

We already know that Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker will be making his screen debut in Avengers: Age of Ultron. What I can only assume will reveal a stronger HYDRA presence worldwide, and Captain America's futile hunt-down all the cells. I would love to see Strucker in the next film, but there are a few others that also deserve a shot at Rogers.

One villain I've been dying to jump into this franchise is Baron Zemo, both Heinrich and Helmunt. A piece of Winter Soldier concept teases the lineage, which used the mission codename Operation: Zemo. This was apart of one of the museum exhibits of Rogers' WWII exploits with The Howling Commandos. Something that could used in a flashback scene, setting-up Heinrich as the staunch supporter of HYDRA. While his son Helmunt is conflicted and less committed to the cause, leading him to possibly switch-sides. We know that James Gunn (Guardians of The Galaxy) has been pitching Marvel a Thunderbolts movie, and Zemo is a funding member of that team.

Baron Strucker's right-hand woman Ophelia Sarkissian (Madame Hydra) should obviously make an appearance, considering we really haven't seen any mainstream female villains in the Earthbound Marvel films. She's quite the piece-of-work, and could even have ties to Black Widow's dark and bloody past. A relentless female villain set within this franchise would be worthwhile, and I know the Russo Brothers could extensively beef-up her character to that on the level of Zemo, or Strucker.

Her Viper persona was up-for-grabs when Fox made The Wolverine, because of her inclusion in X-Men comics. Fox made her a mutant and basically never mentioned her as being a terrorist. However, her HYDRA roots, her image and actual name are at Marvel, so they can use her in the films if they have the desire to. Marvel included Strucker and Madame Hydra in their video game (Captain America: Super Soldier) tie-in for The First Avenger.

Doctor Faustus seems like a no-brainer, if Marvel decides to pursue Bucky's origin as brainwashed assassin for HYDRA.

RANDOM IDEAS!

An interesting ally from the past could possibly Joseph Chapman, better known as the modern era version of Union Jack. We know that the character exists in the cinematic universe, thanks to an Easter Egg in Iron Man 2. The British hero is racing alongside Tony Stark at the Grand Prix, and is listed among the drivers. One of the funding members of The Howling Commandos, would be Chapman's mentor James Falsworth. Who fought alongside Rogers during a majority of his WWII missions. Like Sharon, bringing-in someone like Union Jack could be an interesting nod to his past.

The locations have been a bit lacking for such a globetrotting character, but we understood that Winter Soldier was meant to be more of a personal American-set story of corruption. If HYDRA is back we need an even grander base of operations. One location from the comics could be extremely extravagant, that being the New Zealand mountain-face Gehenna. This stunning HYDRA base would allow for some arresting moments of sheer beauty, possibly lending itself to some very unique action sequences.

Steve Rogers needs to pass-on the mantle to either Bucky Barnes or Sam Wilson. Chris Evans' contract is almost over, and we suspect that like in the comics, we'll see another hero become Captain America.

CASTING SUGGESTIONS

Marvel Studios has their own way of casting the supporting characters, including their villains, but have listened to fans on a few occasions (placing Benedict Cumberbatch on their wish-list for Doctor Strange). CAPTAIN AMERICA 3 To Begin Production In April And Title Reveal Coming Soon

While speaking with Collider the director siblings the Russo Brothers talked about Captain America 3, it's production returning to the States for an April start. However, the stage work will now be done in Atlanta, Georgia. Presumably on the new Pinewood Studios stage, where Ant-Man is currently shooting. This move is an interesting one, not only does the studio have a new location to film their growing number of projects. But, they will be shooting two movies at once, if Doctor Strange is still aiming for it's spring production start (confirmed by Kevin Feige). I have to assume that Scott Derrickson will be heading the UK and shoot Strange at Shepperton Studios.

The studio had been seemingly worried about having two film productions going-on at once. Possibly being too much to handle for the growing studio at the time. This has led to muted-talk of three Marvel Studios releases per-year. It's been now confirmed that starting in 2017, we'll have three Marvel Studios productions released annually. With production shoots now overlapping one-and-other, it's even possible the studio could push for four films a year. A mad notion, but considering the amount of people now involved with the studio and the production space in their hands, anything is possible.

Another tidbit was dropped by the Russo Brothers during their chat with Collider. They confirmed that the title for the third film will be announced in about a month or so. I have to assume the title is another villain reveal similar to The Winter Soldier or Age of Ultron. Considering how many unused major Cap villains haven't appeared in the film, any number of them could get top-billing. I'd hope that we'd finally get to see Baron Zemo and Madame Hydra, but I'm sure others want to see Alexander Lukin and Doctor Faustus take centre-stage in the film.

A great deal of rumblings have already started concerning the lineup of the film. The best guesses would that we'll see the return of Bucky Barnes, Brock Rumlow, Sam Wilson and Nick Fury. It's up-in-the-air if we'll see Natasha, Clint, Sharon or Maria return for the sequel. Since, it's rumored the Russos could be including T'Challa/Black Panther to the sequel, some characters might have to take a backseat.

Black Panther And Hawkeye Showing-Up In CAPTAIN AMERICA 3?

Collider's Frosty was taking to Twitter to see if anyone has questions for the Russo Brothers, and LatinoReview's El Mayimbe coyly took him up on that. Adding what very well could be his own scoop, that Black Panther is rumored for an appearance in Captain America 3. I truly hope this one turns out to be right on-the-money.

There have been rumblings for years that T'Challa would have a cameo, before his own feature film. However, all we've had since those rumors have been easter eggs (Cap's shield/meta human map). It's said that Wakanda is actually going to mentioned and possibly even shown in Avengers: Age of Ultron, that also remains to be seen.

Kevin Feige has given an update recently during Comic-Con confirming Panther is back in active-development at the studio. We are expecting Black Panther to become one of the next new solo films announced by the studio. As the project was said to have competed against Guardians of The Galaxy for the August, 2014 release spot. There is even talk that Chadwick Boseman (Get On Up, 42, Gods of Egypt) is the top-pick for the role of T'Challa, another bit of information that originated from LR.

UPDATE: Co-director Anthony Russo was asked by Movies.com, what new characters would be included in the third film? His answer is obscure but promising since fans would "freakout" with this addition. The only character I could think off making fans freakout, would be Black Panther. Rogers and T'Challa have crossed paths on more than a few occasions, with Cap's modern-day globetrotting he'd have to at one point bump into Wakanda. Of course a new threat of HYDRA would also put the population of Wakanda at risk as well.

"I can't divulge who is going to be in the film, but I think the fans are going to freak out when they hear about it." 

Speaking of Collider, Jeremy Renner mentioned Captain America 3 "rumblings" to the site. That's if he can find the time to shoot it, since he has Mission: Impossible 5 and Bourne 5 on-deck. We already mentioned what this could mean for Barton and the MCU, bulking-up his presence in the universe could lead to him getting his own superhero team to lead (Avengers West Coast).

SPECULATION: Marvel Studios Quietly Setting-Up AVENGERS WEST COAST?

Marvel has become the leader in finding new concepts and angles for the superhero film genre. It's a hard business to be in, but they've found their niche and it's not being predictable. The studio has taken some massive risks over their 10 film career. Mainly, releasing a film like Iron Man when a majority of the public had zero awareness or knowledge the character even existed. They took that success from Iron Man and ran full force. Releasing four more films, before making the giant-leap to an ultimate team-up film The Avengers. They went as far as tearing-down SHIELD in Captain America: The Winter Soldier to give us real stakes and prove nothing is safe in the MCU.

In Guardians of The Galaxy, the studio's most risky and ambitious project to date, they gave us our first real glimpse into the massive Marvel cosmic universe. Proving again, that even a talking tree and raccoon can be compelling if done right. The group of characters are way more obscure than previous characters explored on screen, the film becoming the biggest domestic hit of the summer is something of a miracle.

So, how does Marvel move forward without becoming stale? Shaking things-up is what seemingly the studio does best. The comics have a time-honored tradition of roster changes, guest-appearances and crossovers. We do expect The Guardians to cross-paths with The Avengers at some point in the films. However, what can we expect for our Earthbound heroes?

My theory isn't a new one, UnleashTheFanboy have already clued-in to the possibility of a second Avengers team coming in the future. UTF seemingly had word it will happen in Phase 4 (post-Avengers 3). I'm in the belief this has already been happening in-front of our eyes and Age of Ultron/Phase 3 will ultimately setup this new group. The team is being called The New Avengers by UTF, but I would bet that it ends-up being called the more established Avengers West Coast.

Ant-Man will be our first film in Phase Three, and convently enough includes two members of Avengers West Coast. Doctor Henry Pym, the mentor figure to Paul Rudd's Scott Lang and father to Evangeline Lily's Hope Van Dyne (likely Wasp). It's location of San Francisco is a bit telling as well, since we haven't really seen films other than Iron Man set in California. The second team's base of operations is L.A., but could be reworked to fit the more colorful city by the bay.

Another big clue, is that a majority of the team roster is pretty-much established, and there are enough actors to fill a new team. A bulk of them will be appearing in Avengers: Age of Ultron. That lineup includes team-leader Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), War Machine (Don Cheadle), Doctor Henry Pym (Michael Douglas), Vision (Paul Bettany), Wasp (Evangeline Lily), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Quicksilver (Aaron Johnson) and newly added heroine Mockingbird (Adrianne Palicki former Gamora candidate).

Pym in particular could become the Nick Fury/Stark of the new team, since we might be seeing his origins with SHIELD explored in Ant-Man. Having Pym heading-up Avengers West Coast (like Nick Fury) with Hawkeye/Captain America leading the team could be a very cool way to go about it. We've heard rumblings that RDJ's role as Stark in MCU would eventually become more Fury-like as well.

Joss Whedon has talked about his destain for Wonder Man and wish to include Tigra into the film universe. These characters are also well-known West Coast Avengers heroes. He's changed his tune already concerning Carol Danvers, maybe he'll come-around concerning Wonder Man.

Another West Coaster we all love and are dying to see show-up is the complex supernatural vigliante Moon Knight, who just happens to live multiple personas (besides his superhero one). A TV show was in development for ages, but couldn't come together. The character might be a bit too dark and violent to get his own movie, but we've been rooting for Moon Knight to become apart of the second wave of Netflix's Marvel series (aka Midnight Sons).

What happens when these Avengers leave for California? Others will take their place of course. Characters like Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Doctor Strange (?), Black Panther (?), Ms Marvel (?) and others getting their own solo adventures on screen (Daredevil, Fist, Cage, Jones) could easily fill the gaps moving forward. Marvel could expand their Earthbound heroes doing it this way, and can interchange the lineups. This is where we might also see a rebranding of the Avengers name aka The New Avengers.

Why setup a second Avengers team? Well, the Civil War storyline has been mentioned before as a possibility by Kevin Feige. The storyline was slightly teased with the forest-fight in the film first. However, for it to even happen you'd need to established two groups, before the clash could start. That is a lot of Marvel characters to introduce and explore. Netflix characters like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage could also come into play here (there have been possible hints they could make the jump to movies). Civil War could also be the entry-point for Thanos, and his minions to invade Earth, perfect timing for the Mad Titan.

A set photo from Age of Ultron seemingly reveals that Stark and Rogers are recruiting candidates. Perhaps, developing a new version of SHIELD together (HAMMER/SWORD?). The extras are unlikely Ultron bot stand-ins, mainly because they aren't wearing motion-capture suits. But, more like warm-up/active wear, I assume Rogers is training them.

Having Hawkeye taking-charge of his own team might sound like something out of left-field, but we've been hearing his role in Age of Ultron is getting bulked-up from the last one. Not to mention Jeremy Renner's own teases he'll show-up in Captain America 3. If Marvel is able to develop Clint Barton into a capable leader of a splinter Avengers team, I think they might be unstoppable. Turning-around public opinion of the least-liked team member, would be a giant leap-forward.

Renner himself is an established action star, he is about to begin shooting Mission: Impossible 5 and his sequel to Bourne Legacy. Having him in a more active-role in the MCU sounds like a no-brainer. We've seen what the Russo Brothers can do for these action-based spy characters, so hopefully they're able to amp-up the character to the point we want to see him lead a film (even if it's not a solo one). We also haven't seen his other superhero personas come into play, since Barton has become alternate heroes in the comics (mainly, Goliath and Ronin).

Adrianne Palicki Cast As Mockingbird For AGENTS OF SHIELD, Will She Show-Up In The Films?

Agents of SHIELD isn't the greatest thing to come from Marvel Studios, but they are at least trying their best for it's second season. They've added an impressive new lineup of actors which include comedian Patton Oswalt, Lucy Lawless (Xena, Battlestar Galactica) and Kyle MacLachlan (Dune, Twin Peaks). Another addition has been announced via THR, and it's kinda of a big deal. As Marvel has hired actress and former Wonder Woman, Adrianne Palicki to play super-spy Bobbi Morse, better known as Marvel heroine and SHIELD agent Mockingbird.

The big deal is that Mockingbird is the sometimes partner/love-interest to Clint Barton (Hawkeye), and actually has worked alongside the Avengers as a full-fledged member. It's possible the role could be just guest starring role for the television show, to give fans a solid character from the comics. I have to assume she might show-up in future films including Captain America 3 or Avengers installments. Since Mockingbird taking a role in the third Captain America film would make things a bit more diverse.

This is an interesting turn of events, considering Palicki had been in the running for role in Guardians of The Galaxy (rumored to be Gamora).

BIG SPOILERS: How Does WINTER SOLDIER Effect AGE OF ULTRON And CAPTAIN AMERICA 3?

SPOILERS!!! I've been noticing that a lot of people aren't expecting Captain America: The Winter Soldier to be as impacting to the MCU as whole, which it is. I'm going to rundown a couple of theories on how this film might effect both Age of Ultron and Captain America 3. There entire write-up is filled to the brim with spoilers, top to bottom. So unless you've seen Winter Soldier, other released Marvel films or just don't care, please wait to read this. It's also possible there a major spoiler for Age of Ultron as well.

AGE OF ULTRON

The biggest shake-up revealed is Hydra being active since the end of WWII, spending the last 70 years infiltrating SHIELD and feeding the World Organization false information for their own gain. By the end of the film, SHIELD is sacrificed to keep Hydra spies out of play, leading to it's disband. Maria Hill ends taking a job at Stark Industries (possibly teasing her fling with Tony). I'm not entirely sure if this also means that Agents of SHIELD will have much a shelf-life after this. If SHIELD is gone in the MCU, how will they explain the show's title? I'm assuming that a group like HAMMER (Justin Hammer substituting for Norman Osborn?) might take on the role that SHIELD had.

The twins are being controlled by Hydra and Baron Wolfgang von Strucker. His method isn't actually new, as he's using Loki's mind-control spear to keep the pair under his thumb. It's possible that Strucker has been slowly turning many people against the Avengers (Hulk anyone?) and SHIELD, while in possession of this cosmic weapon. Basically as long as he's able to touch someone with the spear he might be able to turn them into a sleeper Hydra agent. It's very likely that the twins will eventually break free of this spell, and team-up with the Avengers.

Fury mentions heading to Europe to begin taking-out the rest of Hydra, which could lead him to Strucker and asking the Avengers for some back-up. The Italian fort being used for the film, might actually be the Hydra stronghold (Strucker's liar in the end credits scene?) which is expected to be the opening sequence of the film. This fort could actually belong to Zemo, as we've seen in the comics Hydra has takeover or seized the family's property, as Zemo was a rival of Red Skull.

We find out that Dr. Zola has willingly turned himself into A.I. back in the 70's, and this could be the real seeds for the development of Ultron. As we know that Zola is now capable of developing evil complex programs, creating Ultron while deviating JARVIS might be the work of Hydra and Zola, not Tony Stark or even Thanos. Ultron will eventually attempt a takeover the world, while taking on his mission becomes self-aware. Zola having this program backed-up somewhere else, is a strong possibility as there are a bunch of locations that data could be stored.

Hydra is also very interested in killing Stark and had him as a prime-target for assassination. I assume that they want Stark's tech but will use Zola's programming, leading to the killer robots making a giant mess of things. Instead of using helicarriers to kill masses of people, Hydra could try to highjack JARVIS who can replicate Iron Man suits at a very quick rate. Tony (outside of the suit) would also be one of the few people that could stop an army of robots, if the situation ever came up.

Programming Ultron to carry out the Terminator-style assassinations of millions of people, who will become threats to Hydra. Somehow effecting JARVIS with Zola's program (future threat algorithm could be what set's off Pandora's Box. It's possible the people targeted for destruction (along with Meta-Humans) in Winter Soldier could be similar to Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, whatever they turn out to be. As Hydra is known for ethnic cleansing, trying to wipe-out mutants, Meta-Humans or inhumans, might be their new master plan.

I wouldn't be shocked to find out that Iron Man villains  have been also members of Hydra. Specifically Stane and Killian, who have histories with Stark but also possible Hydra connections. We know that Stane was a longtime friend of Howard Stark, but it's revealed that Hydra had him killed. It's possible that Stane knew or even helped with this assassination, to gain more power within Stark Industries. Killian is a founding member of Advanced Idea Mechanics, which is a splinter group of Hydra and is also started by Strucker. This might be even more reason Hydra wants Tony out of the picture, as they seem has one of the biggest threats to their plans (along with Bruce Banner and Stephen Strange).

I'm sure Hydra was also the group that helped Loki with his takedown of SHIELD in Avengers. Making the whole MCU world even more sinister, thinking that Hydra pretty much has had a hand in a majority of the Earthbound villains. As Hydra is now in the open, it could lead to formation of a villainous super-group (Masters of Evil?), that could consist of Zemo/Strucker/Hydra, the Ten Rings/real Mandarin and whoever is now running A.I.M. (possibly Modok, who has been teased by the screenwriters). Ultron might not be the only threat towards the Avengers in the film.

Of course, the wind might change with what happens in Guardians of The Galaxy, but we've been told that Winter Soldier has the greatest connection to Age of Ultron. Guardians could possibly be it's own thing, opening the door to the cosmic universe while still in the same world as the Avengers. I'm going to be that Marvel is saving that crossover and cosmic threat for Avengers 3. Allowing Age of Ultron to have more personal and Earthbound threats for the heroes.

CAPTAIN AMERICA 3

Strucker and Hydra have been excellent present day villains for Cap, so it's expected that they'll return in some form. We have no idea if Strucker has a bigger role or not in Age of Ultron, but if he survives it having a part in Captain America 3 sounds about right. The world pushing forward with a new world defence origination (to combat possible homegrown and cosmic threats) in the wake of SHIELD being taken down, might lead to HAMMER or SWORD, with Hydra pulling the strings. Red Skull returning is something obviously fans are hounding the studio to see, but Cap luckily has one of the better MCU rogues gallery. Playing around with staple villains like Strucker or even introducing Baron Zemo, seem like better options.

Bucky finds himself without a handler or his mind being erased, as he discovers his true self (via his exhibit at the war museum), it's possible he might try to reconnect with Rogers. Leading to Bucky becoming a member of the Avengers. Although, membership is getting larger by the film. Since Sebastian Stan has a nine-picture deal with Marvel, we shouldn't rule out an appearance in Age of Ultron too. We've all been speculating that Bucky will take-on the Captain America mantle at some point in the future, as he does in the comics.

Brock Rumlow is badly burned at the end of Winter Soldier but still alive which means he could be picked-up by Hydra and put back to work. Maybe giving him another type of super soldier formula, one that Zola originally used on Bucky. I would expect Batroc might be returning as well, since we don't actually get to find out what happens to him, after being captured by SHIELD/Hydra.

The Captain America 3 theories and speculation are expected to be less detailed, as the directors and writers are just breaking the story at the moment. Trying to predict where the third film will be going is a bit harder than Age of Ultron, since we have more details on the Avengers sequel. However, it seems like Marvel is going to be using the Captain America franchise as the new launching-pad for bigger stories that effect the entire MCU. We might see the third film having a bigger impact on the rest of Phase Three projects, similar to this giant plot shake-up in Phase Two.

Who Might Be In CAPTAIN AMERICA 3?

Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be released this weekend and Marvel already has set a release date Captain America 3. The third installment is set for May 6th, 2016 which will take place post-Avengers: Age of Ultron. Marvel has brought back the Russo brothers to director and are working the screenwriters on the script. Franchise writers Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus are also back.

It's crazy to think the third movie will actually be fifth Marvel movie with Steve Rogers. While it's hard to predict what is going to happen in the next film, we've had a few hints what could be in it. Of course, a lot of this could change in the next two years, but here's what we have so far. An easy assumption to make is that Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) and others will be returning.

VILLAINS: Thomas Kretschmann who plays Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, has confirmed there is future for his character within the MCU (post-Age of Ultron). This makes perfect sense as Strucker is the face of the modern-day version of HYDRA and could be the type of standout main villain the franchise needs. Baron Zemo has also been teased in Winter Soldier concept artwork (one of their off-screen WWII missions was titled "Operation: Zemo"), and at one time both were in early drafts of The First Avenger script.

Crossbones is expected to make a return, depending on the outcome of Winter Soldier. We've heard that Drew Pearce is considering making a Crossbones and Sin Marvel One-Shot. Sin just happens to be the daughter of The Red Skull and is the villainous partner of Crossbones. She eventually takes the place of her father as the new Red Skull. If Marvel decides bringing back the original Red Skrull might be too difficult to explain, this might be their second option.

Now that it's possible HYDRA could be resurrected, we might finally see Cap get a female villain, which is long overdue. Madame Hydra is a longstanding Cap villain, but has yet to make an appearance. While Fox has ownership of her other codename (Viper), the title of Madame Hydra and her real name of Opheila Sarkissian can be used in Marvel's films. Opheila is also Strucker's second in-command, making her more likely to be used.

While speaking with BadassDigest franchise writers Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus gave hints to where the third film could be going and reveal that another Ed Brubaker storyline might be used. Christopher Markus hinted at "psychotic '50s Captain America". William Burnside is so obsessed with Captain America he changes his name to Steve Rogers, gets plastic surgery and takes an untested "super-soldier serum". His story was recently explored in Ed Brubaker's run of Captain America and would see the mentally-damaged would-be hero exploited similar to how the Winter Solider, eventually becoming a villain known as The Grand Director (a version of the villain brainwashes Sharon Carter). I wouldn't be shocked if Bucky's puppet-masters end up making a return, or perhaps Strucker and HYDRA are involved. While it's an interesting concept the writers are known for giving false information, previously teasing Modok for the second Captain America film.

McFeely: Oh yeah, you can probably predict some of the threads we would like to pick up again that we’ve laid out there. And we always go back to the comics and dive back in and look at anything we’ve missed in the last few years that might be relevant.

Markus: We’ve definitely set out on a more realistic road in the Cap movies, you know. Even more grounded than in the other MCU movies. And so it kind of rules out Cap fighting the Dinosaur Man or something like that. There are some that aren’t gonna start and other ones that — I mean there’s a couple we’re playing with right now that we really want to take elements from. Which we’ll not reveal....(after pressured).. “psychotic ’50s Cap.”

UNION JACK: James Montgamary Falsworth was played by J.J. Feild and is apart of the Union Jack mantle (Cap's British counterpart and fellow Invader). Being apart of the Howling Commandos, it's possible Steve will try to track him down or his family members. He eventually passes the torch in the modern-era to Joey Chapman (revealed to exist in Iron Man 2 as a professional F1 racer). Having a British member of Cap's team could open it up a bit internationally, since we've been getting mostly American supporting characters. It makes perfect sense for a political thriller like Winter Solider, but adding international members to his new team could harken to his Howler days. Possibly taking outsiders (non-S.H.I.E.L.D. agents) as members of his new unit, very similar to Sam Wilson/Falcon. 

Considering the new series Agent Carter is on the way which will likely show the origins of S.H.I.E.L.D., including characters like Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) and Falsworth (Feild) would make a lot of sense. Placing Union Jack in both the 40-50s and modern day could be very cool way to explore the tradition of passing down the heroic title. 

Since Bucky got a bit of resurrection in The Winter Soldier, it would be nice to see Marvel dust-off other members of the Howling Commandos. Even if it's just another Falsworth such as Jacqueline Falsworth/Spitfire or Joey Chapman who is given the title. Passing the title to a S.H.I.E.L.D. outsider could also make for an interesting way to introduce Joey as Union Jack. Making him a daredevil rogue, who is chosen for the heroic title rather than earning it. 

YELENA BELOVA/BLACK WIDOW II: Marvel's Kevin Feige has pretty much confirmed that Black Widow's stories will be told within other Marvel films. Stating she's pretty much stuck as a supporting character. Sharing major screentime in features like The Avengers, The Winter Soldier and Age of Ultron. Exploring her world in more depth could give us villain and Thunderbolt member Yelena Belova. The successor to the Black Widow title, is also known as Little Spider. Giving Natasha a rival/enemy of her own could be a way to give her own mini-adventure within a bigger story.
