The film adaptation of the massive hit video game franchise created by Hideo Kojima, is still in the creative phase. It's been rumored that Paul Thomas Anderson (There Will Be Blood) and Kurt Wimmer (Salt, Law Abiding Citizen) have had interest in the project. Wimmer might end up writing the script since he's been in talks with the studio. There was a bit of confusion when people assumed that Paul W.S. Anderson would be heading up the adaptation, when Paul Thomas Anderson's name was attached. The studio has confirmed the film to be a large scale production, it could be on the Prince of Persia side of video game film budgets. Christian Bale has been rumored for a while now for the role of Solid Snake.
