Pajiba is reporting that Sam Worthington will star in the Warner Bros. comic book film Dan Dare. Being coined as the British Buck Rogers the character has been around since the 50's. The recent incarnation of the character has been written by Garth Ennis best known for comics Preacher and The Boys both also getting their own films. There are a bunch of other science fiction swashbuckling films in development which include Flash Gordon, Captain Blood and Buck Rogers. Back in 2007 the plot had been revealed it would be set in a post-apocalyptic world in which North America and much of Asia is destroyed and the UK is the last remaining superpower.
