Red Skull Confirmed As Villain For Captain America

Director Joe Johnston (Wolfman) is starting to reveal some tidbits of info on his next project. First he confirmed to ShockTillYouDrop (via ComingSoon) that the Red Skull will be the film's villain. He also stated that the film will mostly take place during WWII. There had been some confusion if the film would be set during WWII, in the present or a mix of both. I feel focusing on the full origin and WWII is the best thing for the character. Those things need to be explored if he's going to be placed into a modern world at the end of the film.

"Virtually the entire story except the bookends are in World War II because we all recognize we have one chance to tell the origin story of how he became Captain America, you can't tell a modern story and then go back and tell the origin story. If you're going to do it, let's do it. Let's do it first. Everyone wanted to tell an origin story. There was a version where it was a modern story and it didn't work."
