During an interview with two kids Cameron revealed something about the sequel. He confirmed that the next film will feature other moons. Since there are 13 moons besides Pandora, it could mean that there are plenty of stories to explore and open the universe into Star Wars proportions. MarketSaw previously stated from their source the first film was only a battle, the second will be war. So I assume that the RDA will obviously fight back trying to regain control of Pandora and other operations in the system.
I could see Jake and the Nav'i trying to sabotage other RDA mining operations on the other moons fueling the war. Perhaps even having Jake training the Nav'i how to use the human weapons and technology that were left behind to defend Pandora from RDA retaliation.
While I'm hopeful we could see more of Earth in possible flashbacks I think the only way we'll be seeing more humans is if there are human colonies on the other moons. It would make sense if there is supposed to be all out war with the Nav'i. It could be possible that tens of thousands of Earth troops and colonists could be situated on neighboring moons. If it takes 6 years to travel out there RDA would need lots of colonists/troops to expand operations and combat threats.
