NEWS/RUMORS (Feb 12th)


Variety confirms Vin Diesel has officially signed onto the third Riddick film. While the title and plot details have yet to be revealed writer/director David Twoy who created the franchise is back as well.


Another Three Musketeers project is coming together and will be written by Peter Straughan who previously wrote The Men Who Stare At Goats. The plan is to update the characters similar to what was done in Sherlock Holmes. I wonder if this will derail Paul W.S. Anderson's 3D Musketeers project?


Heat Vision reports Disney has hired Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road) to write their Lone Ranger film which will feature Johnny Depp as Tonto.


While the Terminator rights have been bought by hedge-fund Pacificor. Sony and Lionsgate could end up with production and distribution deals to make more films. Deadline Hollywood also mentions that William Wisher who co-wrote the first two films with James Cameron has wrote treatments for a fifth and sixth film.


Anthony Hopkins has confirmed to MTV that Asgardians won't be speaking old Shakespearean in Thor.


Hollywood Reporter says that Kate Mara and Amber Tamblyn will join James Franco in Danny Boyle's 127 Hours.
