NEWS/RUMORS (Feb 9th)
Cate Blanchett (Robin Hood) will star alongside Saoirse Ronan and Eric Bana in Joe Wright's Hannah.
Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick spoke to MTV about the process of the script and working with Ryan Reynolds.
“We’re outlining it pretty seriously right now......We’re in the early stages......We just absolutely adore the character and the comic.....And tonally, it’s right up our alley. He’s the unstable, smart-ass, self deprecating guy — and they say write what you know"
“What’s great about Ryan is that he’s been the keeper of the Deadpool flame for many years, he’s loved the character since forever; he lives it and breathes it,” Reese said of some of the specific ideas Reynolds has brought up to them. “We’re a little newer to Deadpool, although we’ve done a bit of catching up. One of the nice things about working with Ryan is that he tonally gets it — if we ever do something that is off the Deadpool path, or if it doesn’t feel like Deadpool, he catches it.”
Tim Robbins (Mystic River) has joined Green Lantern and will play Senator Hammond the father of villain Hector Hammond.
Rachel Weiz (The Constant Gardner) will join Daniel Craig and Naomi Watts in the thriller Dream House.
CinemaBlend is running one of the craziest stories I've heard in while. They say Universal will be remaking Jaws in 3D, that part is believable the next not so much. Tracy Morgan (Cop Out, 30 Rock) will play the role that was previous played by Richard Dreyfus. I'm sure with Piranha 3D coming out it gave the studio the idea to bring back Jaws. I just don't think Morgan would be someone that would fit the film with that role. I could see him playing the sheriff or mayor but shark researcher?
Harry Potter's Tom Felton will join Ashley Greene (Skateland) and Sebastian Stan (Black Swan) in The Apparition.
French band Phoenix will score Sofia Coppola's new film Somewhere.
Fox is planning on a Mr. & Mrs. Smith prequel/reboot with new stars.
