GAME OF THRONES Composer Ramin Djawadi Confirmed To Score Duncan Jones' WARCRAFT

Director Duncan Jones (Source Code, Moon) has confirmed via Twitter that Game of Thrones composer Ramin Djawadi (Iron Man, Pacific Rim, Safe House, Clash of The Titans) to score Warcraft. The fantasy film is based on the hugely successful RPG game.

Warcraft will be starring Travis Fimmel, Paula Patton, Toby Kebbell, Ben Foster, Dominic Cooper, Ben Schnetzer, Rob Kazinsky, Clancy Brown, Ruth Negga, Daniel Cudmore and Daniel Wu. It will be released on March 11th, 2016.

Possible IRON MAN Suit Concept Art For AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON

While it's been confirmed we'll be seeing the Hulkbuster in Avengers: Age of Ultron, we haven't actually had a good idea of what to expect with Stark's other armors. There was a shot of a stand-in wearing a prop suit, which might have been placed there for ILM and the actors on set's sake. However, a new image might actually be concept art from the new film. It might also be leftovers from Iron Man 3 concept art, but this could be what Iron Man looks like in his regular armor.

Hayley Atwell Should Have A Shot At Playing Lara Croft In TOMB RAIDER

British actress Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Sweeney) retweeted fans asking MGM to consider her for Lara Croft in their reboot of Tomb Raider. I think they should at least test her for the role. Since she's actually British along with having previous badass roles in Captain America (also inspired by Indiana Jones) and Sweeney. Hayley could end up pulling off Croft convincingly unlike Jolie or someone like Olivia Wilde.

Controller Might Be A Villain In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, Could This Be Another Hint To Iron Man Joining The Film?

LatinoReview which has been slowly leaking plot details of numerous comic book projects has a new Marvel one. They say that Marvel baddie Basil Sandhurst aka The Controller will play henchman to Thanos in Guardians of The Galaxy. There has been talk of Thanos being the actual main villain of the film which could lead into Avengers 2. Marvel has confirmed Thanos for Guardians but his role in the film is currently unknown.

Now that the Controller is involved it seems like another pathway to having Tony Stark/Iron Man join the film. Basil is also a longtime villain of Stark's and Tony recently joined the team in the recent reboot of the Guardians. Add this to the rumored button scene in Iron Man 3 plus his Space Suit Armor it's possible (though not confirmed) we could see Stark in the film at some point. Perhaps, bridging the Guardians and even Thanos for Avengers 2.

MGM Will Help GK FIlms Make The TOMB RAIDER Reboot, Will Olivia Wilde Or Camilla Luddington Play Lara Croft With Mark Fergus Directing?

Deadline reports that MGM has purchased the film rights to GK Films' Tomb Raider reboot. The film has been in development for a couple of years now with a script from Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (Iron Man, Children of Men, Akira). The new film will have more in common with the recent game which reboots the entire franchise in a more grounded world. CinePop had reported on a rumor that Olivia Wilde (Tron Legacy) had been linked for the role of Lara Croft and screenwriter Mark Fergus (First Snow) for the director's chair. However, that was back in 2011 things could have chanced since then.

It's possible the studio could look to actress Camilla Luddington (Californication) who did all the voice and motion capture for new the game. The rebooted origin from the game will be the basis for the new films. She could develop into a franchise star such as Chris Hemsworth was for Thor. Since the Lara Croft/Tomb Raider brand might be big enough to sell the film without a massively well known actress in role.

Another Iron Man actor has joined the cast of Transcendence as Deadline reports Kate Mara (Iron Man 2, House of Cards) has landed a role in the sci-fi epic. The cast is led by Johnny Depp along with Rebecca Hall (Iron Man 3, The Town, The Prestige) and Paul Bettany (Iron Man 1-3, Avengers). The former two along with Mara have had roles in the Iron Man franchise.

Kevin Feige Says GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Is A Standalone Film And 95% Set In Space

Marvel's Kevin Feige was interviewed by SFXMagazine (via CBM) about their new franchise in the making Guardians of The Galaxy. He reveals that the film will spend 95% of the time in space and downplays it's connection to Avengers 2. Stating that while the film is set in the same universe it's more of a standalone and might not be the giant lead in to Avengers 2 that people are expecting. Somewhat putting down the rumor of Iron Man possibly joining the Guardians lineup. This could be just Marvel spin but it's also possible that Thanos and the infinity gauntlet could be a Guardians focused storyline instead of bleeding into Avengers. James Gunn is currently casting the film with pre-production underway in London with an August 2014 release date.

"The Thor film and the Guardians Of The Galaxy film certainly are cosmic. Guardians and Thor will take the brunt of the cosmic side of the universe, particularly Guardians, which is 95% in space..."

“I would say that it does not. It’s much more of a standalone film. It takes place in the same universe. And when we’ve been on the other side of that universe in other movies, you might see those characteristics in Guardians, but the Avengers are not involved with what’s happening out there at this time.” 

Shane Black Also Hints At IRON MAN 4 And IRON MAN 5

Kevin Feige and Robert Downey Jr. slightly drop hints that post-Avengers 2 plans could include Iron Man 4 and Iron Man 5. Even though there has been hyped-up talk of replacing Robert Downey Jr. as Stark (comparing the Iron Man role to Bond). Another person involved with the Iron Man franchise is hinting that more installments with Robert in the lead are a serious possibility. Director and co-writer Shane Black has spoke to Premiere (via CBM) that he's hopeful that Robert will be back for the fourth and fifth installment. Giving the impression that Iron Man 3 is the end of a trilogy, allowing new films to be their own thing.

“I have the feeling that the story that we have developed for Iron Man 3 actually concluded a trilogy, while [also] leaving the door open to a fourth. I had a lot of discussions on this subject: "Is that it is the last Iron Man for Robert? " . Something tells me that it will not be the case, and will be seen in a fourth, or fifth ... But I can be a little excited.” 

RDJ is back for Avengers 2 but beyond that other films haven't been announced or even confirmed by Marvel. Rumblings of a connection with Guardians of The Galaxy could see Stark leave Earth for some cosmic adventures. There are plenty of alien enemies that Stark could go up against. Not to mention a couple of staple ones that haven't been revealed in the films just yet. They include Ghost, Madame Masque (Whitney Frost), Roxxon, Grey Gargoyle, Count Nefaria (father of Frost), Crimson Dynamo, Ezekiel Stane (Obadiah Stane's son), Gregory Stark (Tony's older brother) and many more.  Plenty enough villains to push the franchise forward with a few more films. It all comes down to the box office numbers of Iron Man 3 along with being better received by fans and audiences than the last solo adventure. If it's another massive success like Avengers, it's sure thing we'll see more of RDJ as Stark.

BIG RUMOR: Could Jon Favreau Direct JURASSIC PARK 4?

This one isn't very solid but according to an exchange (over the phone) between a Jurassic Park forum poster and the Universal Canada office confirmed that Jon Favreau is directing Jurassic Park 4. It sounds like a incredible goof on the person answering the phone but could be completely false as well. Then again I'm not so sure the Canadian offices would be getting many calls like that in the first place and know how to handle it. Allowing information like that to accidentally slip out could be a possibility. Frank Marshall denied the rumor via Twitter but denials don't always mean an actual no these days. Take with a grain of salt because a director should be announced anytime now. The movie has a release date of June 2014 and should begin production by Summer.



I don't entirely believe the source of the rumor but Favreau could be a strong contender now that Matt Reeves, Duncan Jones and J.J. Abrams are busy with other projects. Jon Favreau has been working on his Magic Kingdom film for ages and even threw his hat into the ring for Star Wars. He sounds like he wants another crack at a franchise and Jurassic Park seems oddly perfect for him. Elf became an instant family friendly Christmas classic. While Iron Man is still considered one the best Marvel action flicks. If he could do for dinos that he did for Tony Stark we could be in for a real treat. Favreau does have a bit of connection to Spielberg having him as a producer on Cowboys And Aliens which was also setup at Universal. Jon had been attached to direct John Carter during it's days setup at Paramount before exiting to focus on Iron Man (Carter's rights reverted back to Disney).

David Fincher And Jon Favreau Contenders To Direct STAR WARS EPISODE VII?

Deadline seems to have put a bit of wrench in the recent comments from actor Jason Flemyng teasing that Matthew Vaughn had landed the job of directing a new Star Wars film. They say that David Fincher (Fight Club, Alien 3, Social Network, Seven) is "game" to make the film along with Jon Favreau (Iron Man) "panting after this job". It will be interesting to see if this effects the two large projects the directors have already setup with Disney. Fincher is developing a remake of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea with Brad Pitt possibly being looked at for the lead. Favreau is also trying to put together a larger than life live-action film based on the Magic Kingdom theme park which would be similar to Night At The Museum.

We already know that Favreau has links to ILM working them on both Iron Man films and Cowboys And Aliens. He also voiced a character for ILM's Clone Wars cartoon and is a die-hard Star Wars fan. ThePlaylist points out that LucasFilm head Kathleen Kennedy produced Fincher's Benjamin Button which means he's had a working relationship with Kathy. Not to mention Fincher worked on Return of The Jedi and Indiana Jones And The Temple of Doom. Kennedy has previously stated that they were looking at people they've worked previously and Fincher seems like a candidate having similar roots that Joe Johnston has.

RUMOR: Iron Man Appearing In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY?

This Marvel rumor is coming from a blog I've haven't really read before, so this news isn't the most reliable. ComicBook state they have a source tells them that Robert Downey Jr. will have a role in Marvel's upcoming sci-fi epic adventure film Guardians of The Galaxy. This new information is stemming from original speculation from a recent comic book (Iron Man is asked to join the Guardians) Iron Man would join the film. The site also points out another recent rumor that Iron Man 3 will have a mid-credits and post-credits bonus scenes (linked to Guardians?). However, JoBlo got word from writer/director James Gunn who killed the rumor. While a recent Tweet from a Variety reporter gives the impression it's possible and depends on Robert.

RDJ made a deal with Marvel Studios that he'd get a percentage of every Marvel film he agrees to be apart of. He earned around an estimated $100 million plus for Avengers, it's anyone's guess how much he'll make on Iron Man 3. So if Marvel wants Tony Stark/Iron Man in a Marvel film they just have to pay him later instead of a rather large upfront fee that would cut into the budget.

With Whedon handling the creative side things for the Marvel universe we have no idea what direction the film will go. I'd imagine if he wants to expand the Marvel cosmic universe they'd need someone from the Avengers world to bridge the two worlds (Earth/cosmic). Marvel has stated they want Guardians to be their Star Wars franchise so seeing some of the Avengers in the film isn't hard to believe. We've already heard rumblings that Nova Corps and Thanos could play major roles in film. To see Iron Man in a space epic could open the doors to other large possibilities for Iron Man 4 and even a new Hulk film (Planet Hulk/World War Hulk). He's already been in space during the missile scene in Avengers so maybe he tries out a new suit made for the harsh elements of space travel.

Jon Favreau Most Likely To Direct STAR WARS EPISODE VII?

HollywoodLife talked to directors J.J. Abrams (Star Trek Into Darkness) and Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Cowboys And Aliens) on the possibilities of them directing the new Star Wars trilogy. Abrams stating he's too close to the material and seeming pulls himself out of the running. J.J. had been linked a couple times to the project but doesn't sound interested here. He joins a growing group of directors uninterested in the project which includes Steven Spielberg, Zack Synder and Quentin Tarantino (via ThePlaylist). On the other hand Favreau has more of an open mind to the gig.

"I think both J.J. and I come from a generation of people who formed our whole creative persona around what we experienced as kids from watching those films, and I have had the good fortune of working with George [Lucas] and around George, and whether it is doing a voice on Clone Wars, or being at the Skywalker Ranch mixing Iron Man – so I have been very happy and lucky to just experience the culture that Lucas has created, both in my own life growing up as a kid and professional – whether it was interviewing him at film festivals on stage, he is just a really wonderful, talented gifted guy who has changed the business so much, so I am just giddy, first and foremost as a fan, to see what happens with it. I think there is a lot of question marks of how they are going to do it, and who they are going to do it with, and what the story is going to be about; but to say that I am not excited about it is definitely an understatement. We’ll see." 

 He doesn't come out and say it but it's sounding like he has the strongest working relationship with LucasFilm. Iron Man opened the gates leading to the massive Marvel franchise now setup at Disney. Jon helped shepherd the Marvel Cinematic Universe (before Whedon took over) and could do the same within the Star Wars universe. He has connections working with ILM on Iron Man, Iron Man 2 and Cowboys And Aliens. Jon has even voiced a character on the Clone Wars cartoon an his icon on Twitter for months has been R2D2. Recently, he was working with Disney on breaking a story for a live-action film based on Magic Kingdom. Originally, Favreau had been tapped to direct John Carter before it landed at Disney who hired Andrew Stanton. In a recent interview with Lucas and LucasFilm's Kathleen Kennedy they mention what they're looking for in a director. My belief after weighing all the options, Jon is currently the strongest candidate to direct the new trilogy.

SPECULATION: Could Len Wiseman End Up Directing A Marvel Film?

Director Len Wiseman (Total Recall, Underworld 1-2) talked to CBM about leaving Iron Man and reveals he's still in contact with Marvel. This gives the impression that Len could be able to make an action film like Die Hard 4 without massive amounts of blood and gore, could end up getting at one of their budding franchises in development. So, what Marvel films could Wiseman be a perfect fit for?

"Oh man, superheroes... You know, I think a lot of the superheroes that I would be interested in, a lot of them have been done. I was involved with Iron Man for about seven months after Underworld 2. I was involved with Marvel and Iron Man, and I was really excited about that one and honestly, I think at that time, there was a concern that I was too dark of a director because I had only directed a few movies, and at that time, I'd only directed Underworld and Underworld 2. And Underworld 2 was very violent, very gory, very dark and I think it freaked them out a little bit that I was too dark of a director. It wasn't until after Die Hard 4.0 came out, which is a much lighter tone, much more fun, that Marvel called me up again..."

BLACK WIDOW: Wiseman's Underworld franchise which he co-created has cranked four successful installments with no end in sight. All of his films feature strong female characters that aren't just eye candy but can kick some ass and take a punch. A perfect combo for a Black Widow solo movie since a script has been in place for years which was recently re-written by Nicole Perlman (Guardians of The Galaxy). Considering they have a lead and a script in place, adding a director for a possible 2015 release date following Avengers 2 isn't hard to imagine. We already got a hint to Natasha's violent past with Loki's speech about her. It could be interesting to see her past coming back to haunt her or just have her going on smaller scaled adventures. 2014 is looking to be become the first year that Marvel might just be able to start rolling out three films a year. Phase Three will likely involve Widow, Panther, Strange and Inhumans.

SHIELD: This one has been in development for a while as well. The only thing is that the events concerning SHIELD in Avengers would be continued in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It's possible that that they might shelve the project completely and just keep it the connective tissue of the Marvel Cinematic Universe having SHIELD as a background player in the films.

HAWKEYE: Jeremy Renner is on the minds of audiences thanks to the successes of Avengers, Mission Impossible and Bourne Legacy. A Hawkeye film seems more likely than SHIELD as Renner could bring out audiences. Not to mention the character was only slightly explored in Avengers as he was a supporting villain for the majority of the movie. Barton is also a master in most weapons and highly skilled fighter leading up to him to take on the persona of Ronin. It could be interesting to see him partner up with Mockingbird, who becomes something of a love interest as well.

Bill Murray Was Wanted For 'IRON MAN'

It was revealed last week via Esquire that Bill Murray had been wanted for an unnamed role in the original Iron Man film. states that Murray had been wanted for the first film but couldn't be contacted. Bill responded, that he likes keeping his business and private life separate making it difficult for industry people to call him at home to pitch projects.

If I had to guess what the role was I'd have to assume it was Dr. Sal Kennedy from the Extremis storyline. A longtime friend and mentor of Tony Stark who has a brief appearance in the Extremis comics which the entire franchise is based on, most importantly Iron Man 3.

Writer Scott Raab interviewed the actor for the new issue of Esquire. "Downey told me: ‘We wanted Bill to consider a role in Iron Man, but nobody could find him,’" Raab told Murray. "Show people are awestruck by your inaccessibility."


"I’m not trying to be coy," the actor replied. "It’s just practical for me. When the phone started ringing too many times, I had to take it back to what I can handle. I take my chances on a job or a person as opposed to a situation. I don’t like to have a situation placed over my head."

SPOILER SPECULATION: Is Agent Coulson Vision?

*SPOILERS* 
After the death of Coulson in the Avengers it seemed like the end of the infamous SHIELD agent. However, MTV has put together a very convincing theory that Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) could be Vision. MTV makes some strong points and it could be awesome to see Coulson evolve from agent to superhero. Then again, having Coulson stay dead means that the Marvel universe becomes slightly more grounded.

The android known as Vision was originally built by robotic villain Ultron and becomes an enemy of the Avengers. He fights against his creator only to join the ranks of the Avengers and fall in love with fellow villain-turned hero Scarlet Witch. His powers included the ability to change his density to float/fly and become spectre-like. If true, a scientist like Hank Pym (Ant-Man) might be the person to put this android together.

Vison had his own film in development but nothing official had been announced and his inclusion into the franchise would be very difficult. Establishing an android character would be hard for audiences to care about. If Vision per say "looked" like Coulson and was played by Clark Gregg fans could get behind him. To re-introduce Coulson as Vision wouldn't make the Avengers sequel feel as bloated since he was around in the first installment. Phil has also been suspect as he's not a comic book cannon character but created for Iron Man, this has always given fans the idea there was more to him.

» Life Model Decoys
It's already been established that there are synthezoids and life model decoys in the Marvel movie universe. Life model decoys have been mentioned several times now, in both "Iron Man 2" and "The Avengers," while synthezoids were briefly discussed in "Captain America: The First Avenger." Since there are already fully functioning androids that exist, it seems only fair to assume that The Vision is just around the corner.

» Lack of Emotion
If there's one thing people remember about Phil Coulson, it's that he rarely showed any signs of emotion. Always appearing calm and collected, even after being stabbed through the chest by Loki, Coulson is already android-like in that regard. The fact that he had the foresight to advise Nick Fury to use his untimely death as a means of motivating the team only adds to Coulson's cool and calculated nature.

» Stark Tower Security
Towards the beginning of "The Avengers," Agent Coulson somehow manages to bypass all of the high tech security that Stark Tower has to offer. How is it that Coulson is able to waltz right in to the home of one of the richest and smartest men in the world? Well, perhaps he has the ability to manipulate his density. You know, making himself intangible and what not.

» One Good Eye
After the death of Coulson, Nick Fury states that he "lost his one good eye." While this is clearly a play on words, being as Nick Fury wears an eye-patch, it could also be a reference to Coulson's codename: Vision. In the field, Agent Coulson would act as Fury's eyes allowing him to see anything and everything that Coulson sees firsthand. Get it? Vision? Eyes?

» Jim Hammond
The only thing that Agent Coulson ever showed the slightest bit of enthusiasm for was Captain America. Jim Hammond, the original Human Torch android, fought alongside Captain America on several occasions back in the '40s, according to comic book lore. The body of Jim Hammond is also the original synthezoid on which The Vision was based. It's a stretch, but that could serve as yet another clue that Coulson will come back in android form.

Ramin Djawadi Will Score Pacific Rim

While Comic Con is months away but one of the most anticipated films that will be at the event is Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim. The project is expected to be one of the biggest films of 2013. With that in mind one more awesome piece to the puzzle has been put in place. As DelToroFilms reports Ramin Djawadi will score the music for film. Ramin is best known for creating the iconic theme for Game of Thrones. He also scored for projects like Iron Man, Fright Night, Safe House, Person Of Interest, Clash of The Titans and Red Dawn.
