SPOILER SPECULATION: Could LatinoReview's Big Super Bowl Scoop Concern Ms. Marvel And Vision Joining The AVENGERS 2 Lineup?

LatinoReview's El Mayimbe has been dropping Marvel scoops for years and has been promising a big one for Super Bowl Sunday. Previously, dropping Justice League details including the villain and the final superhero lineup. He's been posting instagram hints on his Twitter account slowly giving fans a chance to guess what the Marvel story is concerning. However, I think I may have cracked his big story. While Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians of The Galaxy are about to shoot this Spring/Summer the final Phase Two film Avengers 2, hasn't been really talked about. Could El Mayimbe be hinting to Avengers 2?

Concerning the star hint, my first thought went to Captain America transformation into Agent Steve Rogers. As the star logo is on the chest of Steve's updated costume when he gave up the Captain America mantle to Bucky. Giving the impression that Cap would be having a radical costume chance in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Another was that Rhodey (Don Cheadle) might be joining Avengers 2 as War Machine. That doesn't seem to be the case as El Mayimbe has stated nobody had actually guessed right.

The first image he posted was a simple diamond shape he with his hands over his chest. This sort of gives it away, as Vision has always had a diamond on his costume's chest and one on his forehead.

It's possible that he's about to announce that Vision and Ms. Marvel joining the Avengers 2 conflict as new members. The star image looks like it's on the side of a jet, Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers) starts out as a test pilot in the Air Force before gaining superpowers during an accident involving an explosion of alien (Kree) technology. She has similar powers to Rogue (who stole her power from Danvers placing her into a coma as a result) minus the ability to tae energy/powers. The other image is obviously him mimicking the Vision's diamond on his chest. An android built by Ultron who starts out as an Avengers villain only to become of their most loyal members.

Kevin Feige and Joss Whedon have talked about including at least two new members for Avengers 2. While Black Widow and Maria Hill represented the female side of the MCU neither have superpowers. There has been talk of including a superheroine for the sequel. A rumor sparked around the release of Avengers that Agent Phil Coulson might have been life-model decoy (a reference to androids made by Stark when Coulson comes calling) aka Vision. His involvement in a post-Avengers S.H.I.E.L.D. series is giving the impression that Phil actual didn't die in the film. Yet, if he did it's possible they could have made a android version of him to try to resurrect Nick Fury's "good eye". Again, this is a comic book universe and stranger things have happened. In the comics Vision is given the personality of Wonder Man a character that Joss has stated he will never use. I could see them somehow granting Vision Phil's brain patterns instead.

There have also been rumblings that Marvel was looking to make a Ms. Marvel film but were holding it off to find the right actress to carry the franchise. A casting rumor appeared from a UK outlet pointing to ex-Black Widow Emily Blunt (Looper) and Disney alumni Ruth Wilson (Luther, Lone Ranger) in the mix for Avengers 2 as Carol Danvers/Ms. Marvel. In my own opinion, Jessica Chastain seems equally possible as a candidate previously being offered a supporting role in Iron Man 3. She turned it down to make Zero Dark Thirty instead. That role leading her to earn her second Oscar nomination, this time Best Actress. When she commented on turning down the part Jessica seemed hopeful to be cast in another Marvel film. She also had two number one films this month with Mama and the wide-release of Zero Dark Thirty. Making her sort of a box office draw now.

This is just my speculative mind at work here. I don't think we'll know for sure until this Sunday. It does seem to fit into previously things that have been rumored/talked about by the folks at Marvel. Along with the talk of adding a superpowered female character to the Avengers lineup. Plus, I could see a Ms. Marvel film fitting in nicely into the Phase Three lineup beside Ant-Man and Doctor Strange (hopefully Black Panther as well!).

Casting Updates On Joss Whedon's S.H.I.E.L.D. Series

Deadline reveals that Ming-Na Wen (Stargate Universe, E.R.) has landed the role of Agent Melinda May in ABC's S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot. The series is created and written by Joss Whedon who is now the creative guru of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was recently announced that Clark Gregg would head up the show reprising the role of Agent Coulson.

Summer Glau (Serenity, Firefly, Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles, Dollhouse, Alphas) was asked by IGN if she had talked to Whedon about role in the series.

Well, I have my fingers crossed behind my back. I try not to say anything to Joss about anything he’s doing because he has so many actors, and I know we all want to work for him. So I don't know, but if I could be a part of it in any way, of course, you know I want to.

Bob Layton Wants The Ghost To Be The Villain In Iron Man 3

While talking to 411Maina Iron Man comic book writer Bob Layton was asked about Iron Man 3 villains. Which Bob replied he'd love to see Ghost be the baddie and is pushing Shane Black to use him. Black is going to have double duties on the film writing and directing.

"I'll let you know when I talk to him. The Ghost is who I want them to go with. It's the villain I want them to use. I'm looking forward to getting the chance to talk to him about it"

Ghost is a rather popular Iron Man villain who is currently a member of the Thunderbolts and has already been introduced to fans in the Iron Man Armored series. He's a cyber terrorist fitted with his "ghost-tech" that allows him to sneak into buildings and hack up a storm without ever being noticed. Along with some interesting weapons to go along with his technology. The espionage angle of the villain seems perfect for the more grounded approached the second sequel is boasting. Since the character has worked for both A.I.M. and the Roxxon Energy Corporation it seems that he could moonlight for anyone. The Roxxon building was shown during the Iron Monger and Iron Man L.A. battle in the first film.

-Previously there had been rumblings of Emily Blunt being considered for the role of Madame Masque.

-Clark Gregg has given fans via his Twitter account the impression that Agent Coulson will return for Iron Man 3.

Natalie Portman & Stellan Skarsgård Confirmed For Avengers

It looks like there will be more cross-pollinating in the Marvel universe. BadTaste has word from Chris Hemsworth that Natalie Portman will be returning as Jane Foster in The Avengers. It was also recently mentioned by Stellan Skarsgård himself that he would be reprising his role of Professor Erik Selvig in the film as well. They join an already impressive cast that includes Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Clark Gregg and Cobie Smulders.

This news makes me wonder if Pepper Potts and Rhodey/War Machine will eventually show up in the film as well. As both Don Cheadle and Gwyneth Paltrow have given the impression neither had been approached and will stay in the Iron Man films.
