Collider has confirmed that Dark Shadows will be going into production. Tim Burton will direct the film and it will be shot this summer in London. This will be Burton's next project when he has finished with Alice In Wonderland. Producer Richard D. Zanuck told this to Collider and it's confirmed that Johnny Depp will star. This is great news for fans of the television series that aired from 1966 to 1971. It was a highly atmospheric, spooky soap that featured gothic horror staples like vampires, monsters, witches, werewolves, ghosts and zombies. This is a pet project for Depp since he owns the rights to Dark Shadows. If the film is successful I could see Depp pushing for sequels.
