Disney Rebooting INDIANA JONES With Chris Pratt?; Actor Could Replace Harrison Ford

Our good friends over at Latino Review have been proven right yet again.

Deadline is confirming their previous report that Lucasfilm and Disney were planning on rebooting the Indiana Jones franchise with a new actor. They are reporting the studio is in early talks with rising star Chris Pratt to replace Harrison Ford as the titular hero.

While this might be great news for Pratt fans he's a busy bee these days, as he's about to shoot a remake of The Magnificent Seven alongside Denzel Washington. He also is expected to shoot a sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy in early 2016 and possibly a sequel to Jurassic World something soon if it does well this summer.


Bradley Cooper seemed like a mighty fine option at the time but looks to be too high-profile at this point. His huge box office for American Sniper and his three Oscar nominations might make him too expensive at this point.

We already know that his Guardians co-star can fit the role as Star-Lord's character was greatly influenced by Jones. It's possible that Chris might not be able to juggle three franchise roles like this, but let's try to be optimistic.

This could also explain why he turned down Sony's offer to play Nathan Drake in the Uncharted film.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Split Into Two Movies And Thanos Confirmed As Villain

Plans for Avengers 3 were also revealed, confirming reports that indeed the movie was being split into two parts. Titled Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 coming May 2018 and Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 May 2019, the installments will be shown in theatres a year apart. A short teaser clip was shown, as seen above with Thanos holding the infinity gauntlet. The ultimate cosmic weapon in the universe. This confirms that Josh Brolin's Thanos will indeed be the villain of the film. It looks the footage is test-shots from Guardians of The Galaxy, which isn't surprising since he'll show-up again in the sequel.

The movie is said to be set mostly in space, which could mean that the Guardians will be crossing-over to fight a common enemy. It's unknown if we'll see characters like Captain Marvel or The Inhumans in the first installment, since their solo films will come after Part 1. There is already rumblings via BadassDigest that Thor will be sitting this one out, make of that as you will.

They didn't name writers, but it's been reported that when the Russo Brothers wrap-up Captain America: Civil War they could direct these two Avengers films. I'm not sure what this means for Joss Whedon, as the director might look at one of these other Marvel properties to direct. I wouldn't rule-out a new Hulk movie in Phase Four, or even taking a crack Captain Marvel.

Dave Bautista Nabs Henchman Role In BOND 24

LatinoReview is reporting that Guardians of The Galaxy actor Dave Bautista has landed the henchman role in Sam Mendes' Bond 24. The role of Hinx is said to be similar to that of Jaws and Oddjob. An iconic role that could boost the actor's profile even more. There is chatter that he might be too busy with other projects, but I'm sure he would be willing to drop those for a Bond role of lifetime like this. The casting so far seems to be on-point, and can't wait to hear who they hire for the villain.

James Gunn Promises More Ladies Will Appear In GUARDIANS 2, But Don't Expect Carol Danvers

During DragonCon2014, Collider was able to get some new information concerning the Guardians of The Galaxy sequel, which is coming July 2017. Writer-director James Gunn spoke to the crowd and answered their questions. It was put to him if Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel would be joining the team. Sadly, Gunn said that Quill would be the only Earthling that the films would focus on. Going-on to reveal that he's indeed including more cosmic ladies in the sequel, just not Danvers.

While he agreed that more than likely, Carol Danvers would appear sooner rather than later in the Marvel movies, there were plenty of other women in the comic book roster of the Guardians of the Galaxy and he was more than excited to begin introducing them into future films. The plan, according to Gunn, is to introduce new female characters into the world of Guardians as soon as he could. 

Luckily, Marvel has access to a bevy of female cosmic characters that have connections to The Guardians. Modern members include Mantis (former Avengers villain), half-Kree heroine Phylla Vell (daughter of Mar Vell/Captain Marvel, taking-up hero personas Captain Marvel, Nova and Quasar) and telepath Moondragon/Heather Douglas (daughter of Drax and lover of Phylla Vell). We could also see characters like cosmic royal Medusa (Inhuman member) and Asgardian bounty-hunter/assassin Angela (daughter of Odin and sister to Thor).

I'm still curious where the Starjammers movie rights land, considering only one of the characters (Corsair being the father of Scott Summers) is connected to the X-Men team. While the rest of the team of space-pirates are aliens not mutants, and likely aren't apart of the original Fox-deal. We've seen Marvel Studios share film rights to certain characters with Fox (such as Skrulls, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver). So, it's extremely possible that Marvel could have access to the X-Men cosmic universe, and their alien species/characters. Hepzibah, would be a favorite non-canon character to add to the films. Mainly, because she's a blue half animal/half humanoid space pirate, and fits the Guardians-mold.

Two of the original Guardians lineup were female. One named Nikki Gold, a human born on a futuristic colony on Mercury. The second being alien Aleta Ogord (Starhawk), from the planet of Arcturus. Aleta evokes the power of the Hawk-God, becoming Guardians member Starhawk.

All three of these characters would have extremely excellent visual design-work for their looks/costumes, not to mention could easily be placed within The Nova Corps, Yondu's Ravagers, Guardians or apart of the inhabitance of Knowhere (where the team sets-up their base of operations).

Let's also not forget that Thanos has other female minions, besides Nebula. If Thanos is the main villain of the sequel, including The Black Order would be a logical next-step. That would mean villains such as Proxima Midnight and Supergiant might make appearances. Nebula does mention other sisters, could these two be among them?

New A-Holes We Want For GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2!

James Gunn is already beginning work on the script for Guardians of The Galaxy 2, as the director confirmed he's begun writing the sequel. The second installment already has a release date set for July 2017. We kind have an idea that Nova and Cosmo will likely have a part to play in the next movie. Yet, there are a few other Marvel cosmic characters we'd like to see used in the sequel as well.

ADAM WARLOCK: We had heard Warlock was going to have some sort of cameo in the film, but that likely was written-out or removed from the final cut. The assumption was that his cocoon in The Collectors' chambers would be involved in the film at some point, that didn't end-up happening. Warlock has worked alongside the Guardians for ages, and eventually becomes a member. He's crossed paths with Thanos on many occasions and is a major character connected to the Infinity stories. Having one of the infinity stones embedded in his forehead (soul gem), he's a sure-bet for the sequel. If, indeed Thanos will have most of the infinity stones by Avengers 3.

BLACKJACK O'HARE: It's likely a lock that Rocket's otter and walrus companions will have some role in the next installment, but I'd love to see the rabbit mercenary Blackjack O'Hare get his onscreen debut. He's a prime character to be a fellow bounty-hunter, antagonist to Rocket or just roaming around Knowhere as a hired-gun. Plus, a blue rabbit wise-cracking with Bradley Cooper's Rocket would be super-fun to watch. I'd honestly take him over Howard The Duck, but that's just my opinion.

THE INHUMANS: We've finally had the Kree Empire referenced in the films, and the success of Guardians could mean that Marvel will push-forward with their Inhumans movie. An ancient group of aliens experimented on by the Kree, are revealed to have superpowers when exposed to a mist. In the recent comics, Black Bolt releases this mist on the entire population of Earth. Which in-turn, creates a larger population of Inhumans on the planet. Some believe this is Marvel's way of creating another version of mutants for their film universe. Time-will-tell, but with a potential project that would end-up looking like X-Men meets Game of Thrones, it's a strong bet they'll have a film soon. Including them in small cameos, or at least introducing them in next Guardians film would make sense, if they are planning on expanding upon their existing cosmic universe.

HEPZIBAH: This skunk-humanoid would actually be a very interesting character visually, and could easily be one of Yondu's Ravagers (we've already heard James Gunn mention exploring the Ravagers a bit more). The space-pirate and member of the Starjammers, might actually be another shared X-Men character (similar to Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch). Since she's an alien (not mutant), and was included in her own series alongside the rest of the original Starjammers lineup.

I've also noticed neither Fox or Marvel have commented on the rights concerning the Starjammers. The only one of the group I believe Fox could claim is Cyclops' father Cosair. Starjammers will likely become something discussed between Lauren Shuler Donner and Fox, post-Guardians. Since, we've never had aliens referenced in the X-Men film franchise, I'm possibly leaning towards they don't have the rights to the entire lineup/name. If they do, they'll possibly combine them into the world they are creating for the new Fantastic Four. Considering, Fox has control of rest of Marvel's cosmic catalog of characters and alien races.

MAR-VELL: We've already mentioned the Kree, and our first introduction to them wasn't great with Ronan. They aren't all that bad, case-in-point Kree hero Mar-Vell, also known as Captain Marvel (which I assume the title will be given to Danvers). I'm not sure Mar-Vell would become a straight-up Guardian (like I assume Nova would just work with them for the common good), but he'll likely have conflicts with the Kree Empire. Which could lead him to leave their ranks and look elsewhere to do good. I'd also like to give a shout-out to Wraith, another Kree who is banished but becomes a hero in the Infinity saga.

CAROL DANVERS: Speaking of Captain Marvel, wouldn't it be great if we saw the origin of Carol Danvers' powers in Guardians 2? I know the rumors say that she'll appear in Age of Ultron, but we don't know if she'll even have her powers in the film. Perhaps, as a pilot she's testing-out a new spacecraft for Stark or S.W.O.R.D. and is either captured by aliens, or is brought into the cosmic world. Leading to her to be exposed to the Kree technology, with the accident that grants her superpowers.

ANGELA: One of the newest additions to the Marvel universe, and acquired from Image Comics/Todd Mcfarlane. This lady is another badass outsider, that screams Guardian. She actually worked with the team recently in the comics, and is also revealed to be the daughter of Odin (sister to Loki/Thor). She could be a bridge for the Guardians to go to Asgard, leading them to meet Thor (a solid way to lead to their team-up in Avengers 3) and The Avengers, warning them that Thanos is coming to Earth.

CORVUS GLAIVE AND THE BLACK ORDER: Ronan and Nebula were okay as the villains of the film, but they didn't have the greatest motivation. Well it just happens that they aren't the only henchmen Thanos has doing his dirty work. He has his own group of supervillains, which are named The Black Order. This group are his generals and take-out worlds for the Mad Titan. They seem like worthy adversaries for the Guardians and The Nova Corps for an upcoming sequel. A great one to focus-on would be Corvus Glaive, an antagonist of a majority of the cosmic universe (including Earth and the Inhumans).

James Gunn Will Return To Write And Direct GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2

While we're are assured that Marvel will be announcing a slew of titles today at Comic-Con. One is already being confirmed by a screenwriter from Marvel's writers program. Nicole Perlman, who originally wrote the first draft of Guardians of The Galaxy, confirmed to TheWrap in a video interview that James Gunn would be returning to write-direct the sequel. Perlman also wrote an updated script for a solo Black Widow film (and is rumored/unconfirmed to be involved with the Ms Marvel script as well).

This shouldn't be surprising at 19 reviews the film was sitting pretty at 100% at RottenTomatoes, a good sign that the film will be well received by most critics, and more importantly the audience. Kevin Feige and Gunn have been chatting-up sequel stuff during the press tour, and seeming it's in-the-bag. Marvel has pushed for sequel development early before, recently with Captain America 3 and Thor 3. It seems like we can safely add Guardians 2 to the sequel-list for Marvel Studios.

Gunn went even further while speaking with FilmDivider and revealed what we could see in the next installment, which hinted to focusing on Peter Quill's father and his role as a member of an intergalactic royal family.

Not to mention seeing more of the world of Yondu and the Ravagers (group of thieves/smugglers).

SPECULATION: Will The MCU Suffer At The Hands Of Thanos' Black Order And The Kree-Skrull War?

Predicting Marvel villains and direction of their future universe is nearly impossible. Kevin Feige and the folks at Marvel Studios have had a decent lock-down concerning their future plans, for the most part. While we've had both Feige and Gunn shoot-down a bunch of rumors lately, mainly talk of a Ms Marvel (even though she's expected to show-up in Age of Ultron) film and the Planet Hulk storyline being explored. I think we're all overlooking other things that could be coming out of the cosmic-side of the MCU in the near future.

James Gunn revealed to ThePlaylist that Marvel has a very limited access to villainous alien races from the comics, pointing out they don't own the Badoon. I assume Fox has those rights from their original deal for Fantastic Four/Silver Surfer. Strangely enough, we saw almost zero aliens in that original franchise. Even though Fox has access to characters like The Silver Surfer, Super-Skrull, The Badoon, Blastaar, Galactus and possibly even Kang The Conquer (someone needs to ask Feige about that one).

"The whole thing is, there's Sakaraan in the movie. And the reason there's Sakaraan in the movie is because there aren't that many alien races in the Marvel Universe, and of those prominent alien races, such as the Kree and the Skrull," Gunn added, somewhat tantalizingly, "I have some very specific ideas for where those races go."

Gunn did however mention that he and Marvel have plans for the Kree and Skrulls. The bitter alien enemies, whose war has spanned across the universe and even clashed on Earth as well. Interesting enough, Thanos has connections to both The Kree and The Skrulls, the Skrulls being one his pawns similar to the Chitauri. Yet, considering their advanced technology and shape-shifting abilities, they would make a stronger threat to the Earth (ala Secret Invasion). I could also see them become the antagonists for the Black Panther movie as well. Whedon has said as much, while opting to use the Chitauri instead of the Skrulls for Loki's army. Marvel seemingly has big plans for the two alien races. Perhaps, those plans will be revealed this weekend.

Ronan The Accuser the main baddies in Guardians is indeed a high-ranking Kree, who just happens to work for Thanos. So the Kree have already been established in the MCU, and talk of Ms Marvel could mean their involvement on Earth soon. Ronan might also have ties to another villainous group under the thumb of Thanos. Considering their connections to Thanos and doing his dirty-work, I'm assuming both Ronan and Nebula are Thanos' generals in his group The Black Order. I'm actually curious to learn why the Kree (or just Ronan) is backing-up Thanos. Perhaps, Thanos is actually in-control of the Kree Empire at the moment. It will be even more interesting to find out how The Inhumans fit-into all of this as well. Since that film has been compared to Game of Thrones in space.

I wouldn't be too shocked if we end-up seeing the rest of Black Order (Proxima Midnight, Corvus Glaive, Supergiant, Black Dwarf, Ebony Maw) in the sequel (if not in other Marvel films), searching the rest of the universe for Infinity Stones/Gems. Clashing with the Guardians and other cosmic heroes along the way, leading-up to the eventual Avengers 3 confutation. There have been teases that the Guardians could crossover into an Avengers installment, which makes sense since Thanos would be everyone's problem by that point.

We've been hearing for a while now that Thanos (played by Josh Brolin) will be the big bad of the Marvel universe for years to come. Being a kind of puppet master, pulling the strings of other powerful Marvel villains. Having his Black Order on the hunt for the infinity stones sounds about right. It's also in his wheelhouse to spark a huge conflict on Earth like either an invasion or all out war by the Kree and Skrull. Leading to all sorts of possibilities such as Secret Invasion or even Civil War.

RUMOR: Are We Getting A Cameo From NOVA In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY?

We've already had hints that Adam Warlock will be appearing in some form (possibly cocoon) in Guardians of The Galaxy, but another cosmic character is rumored for the outer-space action comedy. LatinoReview is claiming we'll see Nova also known as Richard Rider make a cameo in the film, possibly in an end-credits scene. It's not hard to imagine that happening since The Nova Corps. are a well established force in the film.

They Add that this character could be played by none-other-than Nathan "rumored for every Marvel role" Fillon. Previously, the talk was he was going to play Peter Quill's father. We'll have to wait until August to find out for sure, where they'll be using him. Fillion could be playing a cantina bartender for all we know.

This image that popped-up on Reddit has fuelled the idea Nova film is in the works. However, we haven't heard this from trades or other blogs. While a Guardians sequel was mentioned recently by JoBlow, making Nova a major character in the next film would more sense than getting his own film. I have to call bullshit on this image, since Captain America 3 and Doctor Strange are currently the only films eyed for Marvel's 2016 slate. Nothing says that Marvel isn't developing a movie, there had been rumblings that Adam Warlock and Nova could get movies in the future.

RUMOR: Zac Efron Might Be Getting A Role In A Marvel Studios Project

It's been a very busy week for Zac Efron, his comedy Neighors co-starring Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen was number one this weekend. Knocking-off Amazing Spider-Man 2 from the top-spot, earning an impressive $51 million. Making it one of the biggest openings for an R-rated comedy. It's now come to the attention of LatinoReview that Marvel Studios is now interested in Efron. They reported the following this afternoon.

We can exclusively report that Zac Efron is being looked at for unspecified role in an upcoming Marvel Studios project. He was given a script for the project just recently and currently no one knows which part is actually in play.

This comes about a day after we learned that Channing Tatum has landed the role of Gambit in the X-Men franchise, which would include a standalone film. I noticed that Zac Efron recently earned some respect from the comedy community, in the same way Tatum has from 21 Jump Street and This Is The End. Thanks in part to recent comedic roles and his hosting duties on SNL. I supported the suggestion that Zac could make an excellent young Scott Summers in future X-Men films.

It should also be noted that two of his co-stars (Miles Teller and Michael B Jordan) from That Awkward Moment were cast in The Fantastic Four reboot. So there was already a bit of a Marvel connection. Not to mention that Zac was linked for a Star Wars role, which many were surprised he didn't end-up getting (it might still happen). Efron has a longstanding history with Disney and the company placing one of their rising stars into a Marvel franchise wouldn't be unheard of.

The role and project are being kept unknown at this point, but it sounds like it won't be Doctor Strange (expected to be an older actor) or Black Panther. LR mentions the Netflix series which opens-the-door for Efron to be considered for both Daredevil and Iron Fist. We've seen a younger Danny Rand portrayed on the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon series, which has Agent Coulson as lead character. I would have to lean towards Iron Fist at this point, as some have pointed-out that Matt Murdock might be played by a more seasoned actor as well.

A couple of other roles could be Nova, Adam Warlock or Black Bolt, cosmic characters that would easily fit into a Captain Marvel movie, a sequel to Guardians of The Galaxy or the long in-development Inhumans film. It sounds like something the could be announced during Comic-Con along with the rest of Phase Three plans. That said, the character he is looking to play is included in an existing script.

Another character that has been teased for an extremely longtime, is Namor the Sub-Mariner. A movie has been in the works for ages at Universal Pictures, which actors such as Jason Statham mentioning interest. Iron Man 2 and Captain America: The Winter Soldier have had easter eggs teasing the underwater prince. Only problem is that the film rights are at Universal, right? Well this didn't stop Marvel from including The Incredible Hulk into the Phase One lineup, when the production was split between the two studios. It's very possible a similar deal could be worked-out in the future.

Korvac Teased In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, Hinting To Cosmic Wars?

We're under the impression that Marvel villain The Collector (played Benicio Del Toro) will be in the service of Thanos in Guardians of The Galaxy, when that is going to be revealed in the film is unknown. The Collector might not be only character in the Thor: The Dark World end-credits scene that is forbidding a giant cosmic threat (aside from Adam Warlock).

We see British actress Ophelia Lovibond playing a pink-skinned alien, who is the assistant to The Collector. Lovibond's character in Guardians is revealed to be Carina in Guardians of the Galaxy Prequel Infinite Comic #1. The comic book is a direct tie-in with the film and seemingly confirms she'll be playing the character Carina. In the comics, Carina is the Collector's daughter, but their relationship might not end-up father and daughter. It does raise the question, "does her inclusion mean Michael Korvac is coming?". Her father sends Carina to spy on Korvac to figure out if he's a threat or not, the two develop a relationship and she chooses Korvac over helping the Avengers.

Carina and Korvac become lovers, which doesn't turn out well for the universe. As the pair become the most powerful Marvel cosmic villains ever to exist. They eventually become threats to the entire universe as they spark a giant Cosmic War. Korvac also ties-in with The Guardians of the Galaxy. If we don't end-up getting a Planet Hulk crossover, we could see a giant Cosmic War storyline featuring, The Avengers, Guardians, Korvac and Thanos.

The cosmic threat is almost as equal to the Infinity Gauntlet Saga, and if Thanos had them under his control would be quite the match for the Avengers. Introducing the cosmic villains could also open the door for future cosmic universe projects like Guardians 2, Ms Marvel or even a Nova spin-off.

RUMOR: Marvel Gearing-Up For GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2 In 2016?

Marvel has been more unofficial about their plans for Phase Three, than previous ones but will start things off with Edgar Wright's Ant-Man (starring Michael Douglas, Paul Rudd, Michael Pena, Clifton Collins Jr. and possibly Evangeline Lilly). There has been a lot of chatter from Marvel's Kevin Feige about his passion project Doc Strange finally getting made, while a director and lead haven't been announced. Recent development on sequels to Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, also give the impression those movies are going to be apart of the Phase Three plans.

JoBlo is tossing a monkey into the works, stating a rumor that could see a sequel to James Gunn's Guardians of The Galaxy invade theatres on May 6th, 2016. Oddly enough, that's the same date Warner Bros. has set for Batman Vs Superman, previously releasing in the same month as Ant-Man. Although, Marvel had claimed the spot ages ago and likely won't be bullied (since Disney is now backing them) if they announce the actual project for the release slot. Joblo even says treat it as a rumor, this is the first time we've caught wind of Guardians of The Galaxy 2. As it stands, Marvel has only announced three spots for 2016-2017, the only way to make room for something like Doc Strange, would be to add a second date for 2017. It's assumed that Avengers 3 would be saved for a 2018 release.

Having a trilogy of Guardians films wouldn't be a terrible thing, and it looks like Marvel might be giving each franchise a trilogy (Iron Man, Captain America and Thor). Expanding the cosmic side of the MCU seems to be the overall plan at the studio, we've already noticed a lowkey push to add Easter Eggs referencing a Planet Hulk movie (looking more likely for Phase Four, if it happens). The great thing about The Guardians is that the team roster changes all the time, there are plenty of new members that they could switch-in or add-on. Characters like Adam Warlock (already teased in a button scene), Nova, Quasar, Angela (new addition to Marvel cosmic lineup), and even the Iron Man himself Tony Stark. There was speculation and a couple of rumors that stated Karen Gillan would be playing Angela in the film, which turned out to be untrue.

Adding Tony to the Guardians 2 lineup could be a way to have Iron Man apart of Phase Three, without having an entire film (Iron Man 4) on his shoulders. Robert Downey Jr. seems to enjoy productions like The Avengers, as he's signed on to make Avengers: Age of Ultron and an untitled Avengers 3 (but not a fourth solo Iron Man film). Robert makes a ton of money for less work and get's to have a great time with the cast and crew, it's sort of win-win for him. Allowing him more time to do other projects, instead of having a huge chunk of his time dedicated to both Iron Man and Avengers sequels.

If the rumors are true, Marvel is trying to setup Doc Strange as the new staple character of the MCU (taking over for Tony), having Iron Man leave Earth for cosmic adventures would explain his departure from The Avengers. Plus, would allow Stark to explore an ever expanding sci-fi fuelled universe, populated with a ton of enemies that could give him a real threat, not just more science experiments (which is getting boring). It doesn't hurt that it's currently comic book cannon that Stark is a Guardian. Having Iron Man apart of the lineup could also be a way to scare-off competition like Batman Vs Superman from considering going head-to-head with Guardians 2.
