Ben Affleck has become a successful and talented director. He's done some serious excellent work on both Gone Baby Gone and The Town. There is word from Vulture that Ben could continue his run on the crime drama genre. Warner Bros. has offered him the directing gig on Tales From The Gangster Squad. The film explores the true story of a band of secret "off the record" police task force who went after Meyer Harris "Mickey" Cohen, a high-profile gangster who was a member of the "Jewish Mafia" in the 1940's. I get thoughts of a mob focused version of L.A. Confidential which is exciting. Not too long ago it was rumored Affleck had passed on the new Superman reboot.
