Chris Morgan (Wanted) has been hired to rewrite the script originally written by Stuart Beattie (Collateral). Len Wiseman has hinted that he wants his wife Kate Beckinsale to have some sort of role in the film. The film seems like it will rely highly on a massive CGI world similar to District 9 and Avatar. It's expected to start production by the end of the year for a hopeful winter/spring release in 2011.
