Even before it's release Paramount is already setting up a sequel to the new Star Trek. This could mean the second installment could be in theaters as soon as summer 2011. A few have made the comparison that this new installment is just as epic as Star Wars and it might eventually become a trilogy.
Producer J.J. Abrams and his production company Bad Robot are expected to return. It's pretty much a given that he will also return as director. The script will be developed by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman along with Lost writer Damon Lindelof.
