She Hulk (2012)

While Marvel is developing projects with B and C level characters with films like Iron Man 2, Ant Man, Thor and Captain America. Also other films like Doctor Strange, Venom, Gambit and Deadpool are being developed by other studios. It makes sense that Marvel Studios will develop more of the characters they have rights to. She Hulk is one of the few strong female characters Marvel has created over the years and could get her own film. I could see She Hulk along with Ant Man being released in the summer of 2012.

Although with major flops like Catwoman, Aeon Flux and Elektra, heroine films seem almost box office poison. This hasn't stopped studios from developing movies like Wonder Woman, Battle Angel, Fathom, Witchblade and Hack/Slash. It's almost mind boggling how directors, writers and studios can't get this genre right. When directors like Ridley Scott and James Cameron can help create the best female action characters in film history (Ellen Ripley and Sarah Connor). It's hard to believe their point of view cannot be recreated with the comicbook genre. The big trend now of making serious and real world based superhero films could make this happen.

I could see someone like Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff being cast as Jennifer. Katee could become a massive female action star if given the chance. There was also an online poll where the most votes went to Megan Fox to be cast in She Hulk. While I think Fox could be an interesting choice she's already playing Aspen in Fathom. Along with being rumored for both Wonder Woman and Hack/Slash. Marvel Studios would most likely cast an actress not connected with another comic film. She Hulk centers on Jennifer Walters the cousin of Bruce Banner who is also exposed to gamma radiation and has the same reaction to it. In the 80's there was development for a live-action She Hulk movie starring Brigitte Nielsen (Red Sonja).
