Jimmy Hayward (Horton Hears A Who) is set to direct, an odd choice considering the source material. Hex is a gritty western comic and not a family friendly feature by any means. It will be interesting to say the least the new direction Hayward will bring.
Bryan Taylor and Mark Neveldine (Game, Crank1-2) wrote the script and were once attached to direct. The pair left the project over creative differences with the studio. Although the script seems to be intact as this point.
Josh Brolin will play Hex and seems more enthusiastic about the role lately. Earlier he didn't sound as confident about the project when interviewed about his involvement.
John Malkovich and Megan Fox will also star.
Casting Update: Michael Shannon (Shotgun Stories) and Will Arnett (Arrested Development) have been cast.
