Tom Cruise is rumored to be starring in the film based on the novel by Douglas Preston and Mario Spezi. The story revolves around a real-life Italian serial killer. The novel inspired "Hannibal" and could be a new starring vehicle for Cruise. We don't often see Cruise play the villain so it would be great way for him to evolve as an actor.
Christopher McQuarrie has written the screenplay. He previously worked with Cruise on Valkyrie. McQuarrie's writing credits include The Usual Suspects and underrated Way of The Gun.
