David Fincher's The Killer
Adapted by the same screenwriter who developed a script for "Headshot". Matz comic "Le Tueur" will be turned into a film titled the Killer. The project is being developed for director David Fincher who recently has been interested in a lot of "comics to film" projects. While this may take a while to start shooting with his recent issues with project "Rama", this could happen a little faster than expected. Since there is a script set in place I would imagine it could start shooting in 2010. That is unless Fincher decides on taking on one of his many other films in development.
"A man solitary and cold, methodical and unencumbered by scruples or regrets, the killer waits in the shadows, watching for his next target. And yet the longer he waits, the more he thinks he's losing his mind, if not his cool. A brutal, bloody and stylish noir story of a professional assassin lost in a world without a moral compass, this is a case study of a man alone, armed to the teeth and slowly losing his mind."
I could see Fincher bringing back actors he has worked with in the past. Most notably actors Jared Leto, Edward Norton and Jake Gyllenhaal. From what I gathered the Killer seems to look unassuming as a hitman and these actors would work.
