Sarah Gadon Confirms Joining THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Franchise, Is She Playing Mary Jane Watson?
ETCanada has confirmation that Canadian actress Sarah Gadon has indeed joined Marc Webb's Amazing Spider-Man franchise. It was reported earlier today by MovieWeb that Gadon would be replacing Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson in the sequels starting with Amazing Spider-Man 3. As Woodley's commitments to Divergent sequels likely conflicted with the production of Amazing Spider-Man 3. The third installment would greatly focus on Peter and Mary Jane's relationship. While it's confirmed she's apart of the franchise her role has yet to be. It's very possible she's playing MJ but there are many ladies in Peter's life including good friends like Liz Allan, Betty Brant and Felicia Hardy (Black Cat). Felicity Jones is rumored for the latter but again her part hasn't been revealed either.

Shailene Woodley's Scenes Cut From AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 And Is Mary Jane Watson Being Recast?
It's starting to look like Shailene Woodley won't be playing Mary Jane Watson afterall. While it was announced today that Woodley's small amount of scenes shot for Amazing Spider-Man 2 have been cut from the film. THR adds that the actress won't be reprising the role again and MJ will be recast. Originally, MJ was going to have a small cameo in the second film setting her up for a larger role in Amazing Spider-Man 3 coming in 2016 and Amazing Spider-Man 4 in 2018. It's quite possible her commitments to other films including the budding Divergent franchise might have come into play as well.
It's currently unknown if the studio is indeed looking at another actresses to play MJ. There isn't official confirmation on who exactly Felicity Jones (Like Crazy) will be playing in Amazing Spider-Man 2. There had been speculation that Jones would be playing Felicia Hardy/Black Cat. However, with the news that Woodley is exiting it's very possible Felicity could in fact end up playing Mary Jane instead.

Sony Confirms AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3 (2016) And AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 4 (2018) Are Being Released
Sony has confirmed that they are setting release dates for Amazing Spider-Man 3 (June 10th 2016) and Amazing Spider-Man 4 (May 4th 2018). We've been hearing rumblings of Amazing Spider-Man 3 already on the books for the studio which could lead to Green Goblin alongside the Sinister Six. However, this is the first time hearing about further plans of a fourth film.
No word if they've signed director Marc Webb for the two sequels but it's very likely they've already made a deal. Andrew Garfield is expected to be locked in as Spidey and it's up in the air who else will be returning from Amazing Spider-Man 2. This seems like to combat previous talk that Sony's financial problems could lead the studio to sell the Spider-Man rights. Opening a small chance that Marvel/Disney could reclaim Spidey for the MCU.

Chris Cooper Will Play Norman Osborn (Green Goblin) In AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2
THR reports that Chris Cooper (American Beauty, Bourne Identity, The Town, Jarhead) will take the role of Oscorp founder Norman Osborn in Amazing Spider-Man 2. The character is best known as the identity of villain The Green Goblin, along with the father of Peter's best friend Harry (Dane DeHaan). Not to mention being yet another of Parker's tragic father figures.
We already know that Electro (Jamie Foxx) and Rhino (Paul Giamatti) will be in the film and it's starting to sound like the Sinister Six will be revealed in the sequel. Colm Feore and Felicity Jones recently joined the production it's likely they'v been hired for Daily Bugle roles J. Jonah Jameson and Betty Brant. However, it's very possible they could be taking a page from Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4 script making them the Vulture and Black Cat.

Paul Giamatti In Talks For Rhino In AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, Felicity Jones Might Also Take A Role
You might remember a couple of years back actor Paul Giamatti said he wanted a shot at playing Spidey villain The Rhino while being interviewed on Conan. HeatVision reports that the actor is now in talks for the role in Amazing Spider-Man 2. Originally, the character was a criminal from the Soviet Block that used a super suit to steal gold and rob banks. It's unknown which version of The Rhino we'll be seeing but the old talk of the Sinister Six is looking like a possibility now.
British actress Felicity Jones best known for Like Crazy is also being linked for an unnamed role. It's possible she could be up for Felicia Hardy/Black Cat or Parker's Daily Bugle co-worker Betty Brant. Black Cat is a sometime crime-fighting partner of Spider-Man's and also happens to be in Peter's circle of high school/college friends. The character had originally been included in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4. Before the production was shutdown Anne Hathaway had the role. She would eventually take a similar part in The Dark Knight Rises as Selina Kyle/Catwoman. Jones has previously been linked for female leads before with Snow White And Huntsman and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
This casting is becoming overwhelmingly awesome. The rest of the new additions include Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained) as Max Dillion/Electro, Dane Dehaan (Lawless, Chronicle) as Harry Osborn and Shailene Woodly (Descendants) as Mary Jane Watson. Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be swinging into theaters on May 2nd 2014.

Jamie Foxx Confirmed As Max Dillon (Electro) In AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2
It's sounding like Jamie Foxx (Django Unchained) has confirmed to ET (via LatinoReview) that he's landed the role of Electro in Amazing Spider-Man 2. The villain had been rumored for a while Foxx had even confirmed he had tried the costume on. It will be interesting to see how Max Dillon is connected to Oscorp and possibly Richard Parker. Foxx joins newcomers Dane DeHaan playing Harry Osborn and Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson. British actor Damian Lewis (Band of Brothers, Homeland) had been linked for testing for a villain role and has been rumored for Norman Osborn. It's expected that Norman will finally appear in this installment with Harry being involved.
“I think Electro will be an exciting character to play because he’s a … genius electrician-type person, and he gets the short end of the stick from the whole world, and the next thing you know he turns it on.”

Sam Claflin And Eddie Redmayne Among Others Testing For Harry In AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2
HeatVision reports that four new actors are testing for Sony and director Marc Webb for the role of Harry Osborn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. They include Sam Claflin (Pirates 4, Catching Fire, Snow White And The Huntsman), Eddie Redmayne (Les Miserables), Douglas Booth (Noah) and Boyd Holbrook (The Host). Dane DeHaan, Alden Ehrenreich and Brady Corbet had previously linked for the part. Dane and Douglas were recently spotted (via CBM) alongside Andrew Garfield at Webb's home. I have to assume because of his following thanks in part to his Hunger Games: Catching Fire role Claflin could be the most likely to get the part.

Dane DeHaan And Alden Ehrenreich Could Play Harry In AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2
HeatVision reports that Sony and director Marc Webb are looking to cast another classic supporting role for Amazing Spider-Man 2. They say that Dane DeHaan (Chronicle, Lawless), Brady Corbet and Alden Ehrenreich (Beautiful Creatures) are being looked at for the part of Harry Osborn. This news would confirm that Norman might actually be shown on screen in the sequel.
Funny fact is that Alden and Dane had both tested for role of Tetsuo for Warner Bros. Akira. It gives the impression that Harry could end up a stronger villain than previously seen in Spider-Man 3. Previously, the studio hired Shailene Woodley for the role of Mary Jane Watson which Webb recently confirmed. While I think Dane has the better resume, Alden has the look down solid. Jamie Foxx is currently in talks to take the role of villain Electro (Damian Lewis also considered).

Jamie Foxx In Talks For Electro In AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2
Amazing Spider-Man 2 is sounding a little more promising than the first outing. Variety is reporting that Oscar winning actor Jamie Foxx (Ray, Django Unchained) is in early talks to take the villain role of Electro. Foxx himself has confirmed the character is Electro via Twitter. It was also reported a while back that Shailene Woodley (Descendants) would be playing Mary Jane Watson (a cameo). 10 Actresses In The Running For Katniss Everdeen Role In Hunger Games
It looks like Hunger Games is quickly becoming one of the biggest female-driven action roles currently in Hollywood. Ten actresses are in the running for the role of Katniss. The group includes Oscar-nominated actresses Jennifer Lawrence (Winter's Bone, X-Men First Class), Haliee Steinfeld (True Grit), Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine, Zombieland) and Saoirse Ronan (Atonement, Lovely Bones, Hanna). Along with Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass, Let Me In), Emily Browning (Sucker Punch), Lyndsy Fonseca (Kick-Ass, Hot Tub Time Machine), Kaya Scodelario (Clash of The Titans, Moon, Skins), Emma Roberts (Scream 4) and Shailene Woodley (American Teenager). It's expected the actress selected would be obligated to sign at least a four picture deal as there are four books in the series. Saoirse Ronan and Chloe Moretz are my favorites of the group but Lionsgate could be looking for a lesser known name.
