TRAINWRECK Get's A Grumpy Cat, As Colin Quinn Joins Cast

TheWrap reports that another SNL alumni is joining the cast of Judd Apatow's Trainwreck starring Amy Schumer. Comedian Colin Quinn has taken a role in the raunchy comedy, which was written by Schumer. Colin and Amy have recently appeared on HBO's Girls, the Lena Dunham series that Apatow produces. Bill Hader and Brie Larson are also in talks for co-starring parts in the film. I wouldn't be shocked if we end up seeing Lena in the mix as well.

Brie Larson Sticking To Her Comedic Roots By Eyeing Role In Judd Apatow's TRAINWRECK

Variety reports that funny lady Brie Larson could take a role in Judd Apatow's next film Trainwreck. Larson is looking to going back to her comedic roots, after taking more dramatic roles. Her comedic credits include 21 Jump Street, United States of Tara, Community, The League, The Kroll Show and Scott Pilgrim. Apatow has a great eye for female comedians, so having Larson on board is a very good thing.

The film is based on a original script written by Amy Schumer (with notes/suggestions from Judd Apatow), which will see her in the lead role. Judd setup the project at Universal as it's producer, but attached himself as it's director as well. Bill Hader (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Superbad, Knocked Up, Adventureland, Paul, Tropic Thunder) who is a busy person these days will also co-star in the raunchy comedy.

Bill Hader Could Co-Star In Amy Schumer's Raunchy Comedy TRAINWRECK Directed By Judd Apatow

Variety reports that stellar impressionist and all around funny man Bill Hader could co-star in Trainwreck. A raunchy comedy written/starring Amy Schumer with Judd Apatow directing. Bill has been apart of a bunch of Judd Apatow productions (directed or produced) such as Knocked Up, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Adventureland, Pineapple Express and Superbad. It would make sense that Hader would eventually land a lead role in one of Judd's films. We should expect more Apatow regulars added the cast of Trainwreck.

Since leaving SNL, Bill has broken out as a comedian in his own right. Being apart of the very successful Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs franchise, along with two future Pixar releases The Good Dinosaur and Inside Out. His credits don't stop at voice over work, as he co-starred with Kristen Wiig in dark comedy The Skeleton Twins, which got a solid reaction at this year's Sundance.

Amy Schumer And Judd Apatow's TRAINWRECK Set For July 2015 Release

Deadline reports that the raunchy comedy Trainwreck has set a release date of July 24th, 2015. A bold move by Universal, as it places the R-rated comedy smack between Batman Vs Superman and Ant-Man. The film was written and conceived by comedian Amy Schumer, who will star as the film's lead. Her project caught the attention or producer Judd Apatow, who eventually signed-on to direct the film. It's rare to see Judd direct a film he hasn't created/written himself, but it should be noted he help develop it with Amy.

Judd has a had a bit of slump lately with Funny People and This Is 40, films that didn't end up winning over critics or audiences. Unlike, his previous films like 40 Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up that were considered massive successes. There is some hope that Trainwreck could help him branch out and allow someone else to handle the main writing duties. I have my fingers crossed that Judd's children will not show up, while understanding that Leslie Mann is a package deal with having Judd direct.

One thing is for sure Mr. Apatow has an eye for comedic film talent, discovering people such as Steve Carrell, Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill and Seth Rogen. We'll have to wait and see if Amy will breakout in a similar fashion. The synopsis for the film isn't being released but is said to focus on the debauchery lifestyle of Amy's character.

Judd Apatow Producing Untitled Amy Schumer Starring-Vehicle

Deadline reports that Judd Apatow will be producing a script written by comedian Amy Schumer with Universal Pictures also involved in the deal. The film will be written by Schumer with Apatow helping shape it's story. This is has potential written all over it. While Apatow's own features seem to be lengthy self-indulgent love letters to his family. His work as a producer and eye for comedic talent is close to that of Mel Brooks. Discovering such talents as Steve Carrell, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Jason Segel, Bill Hader and Aubrey Plaza. Judd produced the Oscar winning Bridesmaids which saw both Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy breakout on the national stage as well. He's also behind the massive success of Lena Dunham's Girls which gives a view of the younger generation of 20 something women (something we rarely see in comedic form). I'm beyond excited to see Ms. Schumer move on from a luke-warm TV series and repetitive Comedy Central Roasts.

Megan Fox Could Join The Knocked Up Spin-Off

HeatVision reports that Megan Fox is in talks for a role in Judd Apatow's Untitled Knocked Up Sequel. The film won't focus on any of Seth Rogen character's more interesting roommates played by Jonah Hill and Jason Segel but the perfect family which featured Apatow's wife and children. I've been very critical of this project and it sounds terrible as one of the reasons I disliked Funny People was how he involved his kids in a film that worked better as a buddy comedy. Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann of course will be returning and I expect others from the first film will be returning as well. Paul Rudd is the only reason I would even think of checking this out as he's best used when teamed up with Judd.

Megan Fox has been off the radar lately since she was kicked off Transformers 3 and Jonah Hex did so poorly at the box office. I was shocked she didn't get more praise for her fantastic job in the horror comedy Jennifer's Body. I expect she'll play a woman who is ends up involved with Rudd causing him to leave his wife.

Emily Blunt Joining Jason Segel In Five-Year Engagement?

Vulture reports Emily Blunt has been offered the female lead in Five-Year Engagement opposite Jason Segel. The project once rumored to be Judd Apatow's (now just producing) next film will see director Nicholas Stoller (Get Him To The Greek) re-teaming with Jason Segel. The pair worked together on Forgetting Sarah Marshall and the new Muppet film.
