Australian Actor John Jarratt Joins 'DJANGO UNCHAINED'

ThePlaylist has word that Aussie actor John Jarratt has taken a role in Django Unchained which is currently in it's second and final stretch of production. There is some speculation that John could be in help fill the role left by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Since Joseph was set to play one of the Aussie hick brothers alongside Anthony LaPaglia (the elder brother). There could be a bit of role switching here considering John is quite a bit older than Anthony. However, he just might be taking another part we won't know until it's confirmed. Previously legendary Aussie actor Rod Taylor ended up with a cameo as Churchhill in Inglourious Basterds, so anything is possible.

Singer Catherine Lambert Joins Django Unchained

AdeliadeNow (via Tarantino.Info) reports that Australian singer Catherine Lambert best known as the hotel lounge singer in Lost In Translation has joined Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. I assume she will be involved with Australian slave traders brothers played by Anthony LaPaglia and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Rza & Misty Upham Join Django Unchained

A few more casting additions to Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. ShowBlitz reports that Kill Bill composer and Wu-Tang member Rza will play a violent slave named Thadeus in the film. Tarantino is a producer along with Eli Roth on Rza's directorial debut The Man With The Iron Fists in which Rza also stars. Frozen River's Misty Upham has a role too as a trading post/bar owner named Minnie.

Anthony LaPaglia Joins Django Unchained, Joseph Gordon-Levitt's Role Revealed

Deadline reports that Australian actor Anthony LaPaglia (The Client, Empire Records, Summer of Sam) has joined Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. He'll play the leader of the Australian slave-trading gang who kidnap Django (Foxx) and his wife Broomhilda (Washington) selling them to Calvin Candie (DiCaprio). LaPaglia revealed that Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception, Dark Knight Rises, 50/50) will play his younger brother in the film. This is confirmation that Joseph has been indeed been cast. It will be interesting to see Gordon-Levitt adopt an Australian accent along with playing a villain.
