Warner Brothers' second reboot of the Superman franchise is expected to usher in an entire new cohesive DC film universe. Apparently a lot is riding on Man of Steel being a massive success, even more than just a sequel. As the studio is holding back production of Justice League until they see the box office numbers from Man of Steel. Justice League's script from Will Beall had recently been tossed out by WB and is expected to completely rewritten by a new writer.

Russell Crowe & Connie Nielsen In Talks To Play Superman's Kryptonian Parents

ShowBlitz reports that Russell Crowe is in talks to play Jor-El, Superman's biological father. It had been rumored that Daniel Day-Lewis and Viggo Mortensen had been offered the part in Zack Snyder's Superman: Man of Steel. GeekTyrant also says Crowe's Gladiator co-star Connie Nielsen has been offered the role of Lara, Superman's mother. It's yet another interesting group of casting for the film that already stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Diane Lane and Kevin Costner.
