The Wachowski Sci-Fi Epic JUPITER ASCENDING Coming July 2014
Warner Bros. has set the release date for The Wachowski's (Matrix, Cloud Atlas) sci-fi epic Jupiter Ascending. The studio sees a tentpole as the film will be in theaters on July 25th 2014. Ascending stars Mila Kunis, Channing Tatum, Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne, Tuppence Middleton and Douglas Booth. It sounds like it takes elements from both Dune and Star Wars so it could be one to keep an eye on.

Michael Giacchino To Score JUPITER ASCENDING
ThePlaylist has picked up that Oscar winning composer Michael Giacchino (Up) has been hired to score The Wachowskis' Jupiter Ascending. The sci-fi epic stars Mila Kunis, Channing Tatum, Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne, Tuppence Middleton and Douglas Booth. Michael previously worked with the directing siblings on Speed Racer. His other credits include Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness, John Carter, Super 8 and Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol. There is speculation that he might end up replacing John Williams as the composer for J.J. Abrams' Star Wars Episode VII.

Michael Giacchino Could Score Captain America?
With a film that has director Joe Johnston who worked on both Star Wars and Indiana Jones it's expected Captain America's score could be just as iconic. Now there is word online via CBM that Michael Giacchino (Up, Star Trek, Let Me In, MI3) has been sent the script which could mean he's been hired to score the WWII superhero film.
Michael is no stranger to WWII scores as he worked on multiple titles for the Medal of Honor and Call of Duty video game franchises. He recently won an Oscar for his score of Pixar's Up and has been in high demand since. Giacchino is busy these days working on music for John Carter of Mars, Super8 and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol so it's not a sure thing. Hopefully he can do for Cap what was able to do for the Star Trek reboot.
