Michael Fassbender Could Reunite With MACBETH Director Justin Kurzel For ASSASSIN'S CREED

Deadline reports that New Regency and Ubisoft are in-talks with Justin Kurzel to direct Assassin's Creed. It would see Kurzel re-teamed with Micheal Fassbender, as the pair recently worked together on a new cinematic version of Shakespeare's Macbeth. The Australian director also earned acclaim for his indie crime thriller The Snowtown Murders.



Swedish director Daniel Espinosa (Snabba Cash, Safe House) has been previously in the mix to direct, but that seemingly didn't work out. He instead went with the thriller Blood On The Snow, which is setup at Warner Bros.

An adaptation of William Shakespeare's Macbeth is on it's way from Snowtown Murders director Justin Kurzel. The Scottish play stars Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard in the lead roles. Other cast members include Sean Harris (Prometheus, Red Riding Trilogy), David Thewlis (The Kingdom), Jack Reynor (Transformers 4) , Paddy Considine (Dead Man Shoes, World's End, Red Riding Trilogy, Submarine) and Elizabeth Debicki (Great Gatsby, The Man From U.N.C.L.E.). Mads Mikkelsen And Ralph Fiennes Join John Le Carre Adaptation OUR KIND OF TRAITOR Starring Ewan McGregor

ThePlaylist reports that Mads Mikkelsen (Pusher II, Casino Royale) and Ralph Fiennes (Skyfall, In Bruges) have joined Our Kind Of Traitors. The John Le Carre adaptation will be directed by Justin Kurzel (The Snowtown Murders), scripted by Hossein Amini (Drive) with Ewan McGregor (Trainspotting, The Impossible) in the lead. It centers on a British couple (McGregor and ?) that get mixed up with a money-laundering Russian (Mikkelsen) while he's in the process of defecting.  The couple end up getting in between the Russian Mafia and Secret Service.

Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty, Mama, The Help) had been linked to play McGregor's wife but it's unknown if she'll end up in the film.

Justin Kurzel To Direct 'OUR KIND OF TRAITOR' Based On John le Carre Novel

Variety reports that Australian director Justin Kurzel (Snowtown) has landed his next directorial effort. He'll be directing the globe-trotting thriller Our Kind of Traitor which is based on the novel by John le Carre (George Smiley series) and adapted by Hossein Amini (Drive). It follows the relationship between a young couple and a charismatic Russian criminal, who persuades them to help defect. The thriller takes place in London, Paris, Moscow and Tangiers. We should expect a level of acting talent similar to the other recent le Carre film Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy cast in this film.
