CAPTAIN AMERICA's Sebastian Stan Joins Huge Cast Of Ridley Scott's THE MARTIAN

Deadline reports that breakout Marvel alumni Sebastian Stan has landed a role in Ridley Scott's The Martian. Stan is apart of the Captain America franchise, and is one of three lead actors that have bridged from The First Avenger to sequels. He'll return for Captain America 3 alongside Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. There is even talk of Sebastian's Bucky Barnes taking-over Rogers' mantle after the third film. Having a role in a Ridley Scott film might help boost his international awareness outside of the MCU.

Ridley's last couple of films has included some serious badasses and strong actors. His next film is no exception the stunning cast includes Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sean Bean, Michael Pena, Jeff Daniels, Donald Glover and Mackenzie Davis.

Deadline is reporting that actor Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave, Children of Men) has landed a a part in Ridley Scott's The Martian. British badass Sean Bean (Game of Thrones, Patriot Games, Goldeneye, Lord of The Rings, Ronin) will also have a role in the sci-fi flick. The rest of the cast includes Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Michael Pena, Kate Mara, Jeff Daniels and Donald Glover. CAST EM': AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

The reboot of the Spider-Man franchise has divided most fans as most either loved or loathed Marc Webb's take on the web-head. Audiences have spoken with their wallets shelling out over $743 million worldwide. Sony has already set a release date of May 2nd 2014 for Amazing Spider-Man 2. James Vanderbilt and Roberto Orci (Star Trek 1-2, Transformers) have been working on it's script with the cast signed on to return. Director Marc Webb is still trying to talk to Fox so the studio will allow him to make Spidey 2 first before being forced into other projects. Sony could end up finding another director to fill his shoes or (less likely) buy out Webb's contract with Fox if need him badly enough. Either way, the franchise will move forward and here are some of my thoughts on future casting additions.

JANE LEVY AS MARY JANE WATSON

MICHAEL SHEEN AS NORMAN OSBORN

ANTON YELCHIN AS HARRY OSBORN

DONALD GLOVER AS MILES MORALES/ROBBIE ROBERTSON

FRAN KRANZ AS ALISTAIR SMYTHE

JUNO TEMPLE AS FELICIA HARDY

More Join Aubrey Plaza's The Hand Job

Bill Hader while talking with Collider gave an update on The Hand Job which his wife wrote the script for. The film will focus on 17 year old high school student played by Aubrey Plaza (Parks & Rec, Funny People) that wants to learn about various sexual activities before she goes to college. Similar to The Wackness the film is set during the early 90's.

Hader revealed that Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Kick-Ass, Superbad), Andy Samberg (SNL), Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development), Mae Whitman (Scott Pilgrim), Donald Glover (Community, Mystery Team), Johnny Simmons (Scott Pilgrim, Kick-Ass) and Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights) are all attached. It's a solid cast and could end up becoming a great comedy. I also wouldn't be shocked to see Hader himself make a cameo in the film. Keep an eye out for this one! I expect an excellent soundtrack as well.

Donald Glover Wants To Audition For Spider-Man

Comedian Donald Glover from NBC's Community and the indie comedy Mystery Team is openly campaigning to audition for the Spider-Man reboot. What seems to shock most Spidey fans is that he is hoping to play Peter Parker. It's interesting to see someone who is recently gaining fame and success doing such a grassroots thing. Forget our hangups on casting superheroes based on their ethnicity in the original comics. I believe Glover deserves an audition for the role if this campaign gains enough steam. It's still beyond unlikely that Sony would decide to deviate from the original character in this direction. I think he's the right age and could still pull off playing someone in high school. Someone has setup a facebook page to support Donald.

*Should we see more diversity with casting for comic book films?
