AP is reporting that James Cameron has mentioned that the Avatar 2 release date will be announced in the next couple of months. The sequel will take 3 years to finish which is 18 months less than the original's post-production turn around. If this is the case I expect they could shoot two films at once to cut costs and save time. The phenom has gained $2.7 billion in box office and almost $100 million in DVD/Blu Ray sales.
