Another Actor Joins 300 Battle Of Artemisia


CinemaBlend has caught wind of an announcement that Australian actor Callan Mulvey (The Hunter) has joined the slowly growing cast of 300: Battle of Atremisia. He joins Eva Green, fellow Hunter co-star Sullivan Stapleton, Jamie Blackley and Rodrigo Santoro as Xerxes. Mulvey has also landed a supporting role in Kathryn Bigelow's Zero Dark Thirty.

Rodrigo Santoro In Talks To Reprise The Role Of Xerxes


While speaking with Collider actor Rodrigo Santoro confirmed that he was in talks to reprise the role of Xerxes in 300: Battle of Artemisia. Currently the only actors confirmed for the film include Eva Green (Casino Royale, Kingdom of Heaven), Sullivan Stapleton (Animal Kingdom) and Jamie Blackley. There had also been talk of Gerard Butler and Lena Headey reprising their roles as well.

Forest Whitaker Joins The Last Stand

HollywoodReporter says that Kim Jee-Woon's (I Saw The Devil) The Last Stand starring Arnold Schwarzenegger has gained more actors. They report that Oscar winner Forest Whitaker, Johnny Knoxville (Jackass 1-3), Luiz Guzman (Carlito's Way, Out of Sight, Boogie Nights) and Harry Dean Stanton (Alien, Escape From New York) have rounded out the cast. The film's supporting cast already includes Eduardo Noriega, Jaimie Alexander, Zach Gilford, Rodrigo Santoro and Peter Stormare.

Eduardo Noriega Joins The Last Stand

Variety reports that Spainish actor Eduardo Noriega (Devil's Backbone, Captain Alatriste) will play Cortez in The Last Stand. This villain is a ruthless drug cartel kingpin who is on the run to the Mexican boarder with $400 million dollars. Arnold Schwarzenegger plays the grizzled Sheiff who heads up a relativly new group of deputies who patrol the small town Cortez ends up in with his hired guns. The film also stars Rodrigo Santoro, Jaimie Alexander (Thor), Peter Stormare and Zach Gilford. It will be directed by Kim Jee-Woon (I Saw The Devil) with a release date of January 18th 2013.

Jaimie Alexander Joins Swarzenegger In The Last Stand

Variety reports that Jaimie Alexander (Thor, Thor 2) has landed the female lead in The Last Stand. This will be director Kim Jee-Woon's (I Saw The Devil) first English film. Alexander will be joining Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rodrigo Santoro (300, Che), Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights) and Peter Stormare (Fargo, Big Lebowski).
