FIRST LOOK: Our Favorite Jeep Returns To JURASSIC WORLD, Plus A New Armored One

Someone from Universal Pictures has been posting images of vehicles from Jurassic World on Instagram. The pictures were picked-up by fansite JurassicWorldUniverse. We see what must be an abandoned Jeep (29 was actually used on screen as one of Hammond's vehicles) from the first film. The new park is said to be set on the original island, which hasn't been seen since the first film. The second image shows us a more modern armored vehicle that will the park will be using. Apparently, both are heading to location shooting in Hawaii.

Judy Greer Nabs Another Cool Role With JURASSIC WORLD

Jurassic World is quite finished casting roles, as TheWrap reports that funny lady Judy Greer has joined the production. Greer recently took a action-heavy part in Dawn of The Planet of The Apes, playing motion-capture ape Cornelia (an homage to Cornelius). It's possible she might not be on the sidelines, as it's expected a bunch of the human characters will be running for their lives by the second act (as per usual with Jurassic Park films).

The rest of the cast includes Chris Pratt (Her, Wanted, Guardians of The Galaxy), Bryce Dallas Howard (Terminator Salvation, Spider-Man 3, 50/50), Nick Robinson (Kings of Summer), Ty Simpkins (Insidious 1-2, Iron Man 3), Jake Johnson (New Girl) , Irrfan Khan (Amazing Spider-Man, Slumdog Millionaire, Life of Pi), B.D. Wong (Jurassic Park) and Vincent D'Onofrio (Full Metal Jacket, Men In Black). The production is already underway, taking place in Hawaii and Louisiana, with the release date set for June 12th, 2015.

Idris Elba And Jake Johnson Also Confirmed For JURASSIC WORLD?

A while back there was chatter in the trades that both Idris Elba (Pacific Rim, Thor: The Dark World) and Jake Johnson (New Girl, Safety Not Guaranteed) were in the mix for roles in Jurassic World. It seems like THR has confirmed their involvement, or have just made a simple mistake listing the cast.

I have a feeling it's the former, since those are two names we've been hearing for a while now, and the size of their roles hasn't actually been revealed. Elba is gathering-steam as name in Hollywood, but a role in a Jurassic Park film would be hard to turn down. As the British actor has a tendency to take-on genre projects, not to mention is a workaholic. Jake has worked with Colin previously, and could end up the comedic-relief of the film (a role also linked to Jason Schwartzman).

A recent string of additions to the cast includes Vincent D’Onofrio (Full Metal Jacket, Men In Black) and Irrfan Khan (Life of Pi, Slumdog Millionaire, Amazing Spider-Man). Colin Trevorrow also confirmed that BD Wong would be reprising his role of Dr. Henry Wu from the original film. Wong's character seemingly could be the only link to Jurassic Park.

X-MEN's Omar Sy Joins The Cast Of JURASSIC WORLD

It's official French actor Omar Sy (X-Men: Days of Future Past, Intouchables) has joined the growing cast of Jurassic World, according to director Colin Trevororow. The director announced Omar's addition via his Twitter account. He'll join fellow Marvel alumni Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt.

Ty Simpkins Takes Lead In JURASSIC WORLD, Jake Johnson In The Mix For Role

Deadline reports that Iron Man 3 breakout star Ty Simpkins (Insidious 1-2, Little Children, War of The Worlds) has landed the lead in Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World. While Bryce Dallas Howard (50/50) was confirmed a couple of weeks back. The site also mentions that New Girl's Jake Johnson could take a role in the film. Johnson previously worked with Colin on Safety Not Guaranteed, so it might end up a reunion. Other names previously linked for roles include Josh Brolin, David Oyelowo and Garrett Hedlund.

Josh Brolin Wanted For JURASSIC WORLD?

Apparently, Bryce Dallas Howard isn't the only name linked for Jurassic World. Variety (via BleedingCool) had reported that both Josh Brolin and David Oyelowo (previously rumored) are also being looked at for roles. It's the first time that Josh Brolin's name has been even mentioned but the site quickly retracted their statements.

Bryce Dallas Howard Offered Lead In JURASSIC WORLD

TheWrap reports actress Bryce Dallas Howard (50/50) has been offered a lead role in Jurassic World. Previously, Bryce and actor David Oyelowo had been linked for the film but had only been rumors at the time. However, David has been linked for two Star Wars projects recently. Those being both Episode VII and the new animated series Rebels.

JURASSIC PARK 4 Officially Titled JURASSIC WORLD Coming June 2015

Universal has announced the official title of fourth installment of Jurassic Park will be Jurassic World with a release date of June 12th, 2015. The title comes from the collectors edition of the two novels which is combined into one edition. Legendary Pictures (who recently partnered with Universal) could help on the production-side of things and could help back the project financially. The studio's first collaboration will be on the horror reboot Dracula Untold and Legendary recently wrapped production on Godzilla. While casting hasn't been announced rumors have pointed to the return of Sam Neil. Along with possible new additions such as Bryce Dallas Howard, David Oyelowo and John Kransinski.

Variety reports that Universal is putting the June 2014 release date for Jurassic Park currently on hold. The studio is trying to make the film a little bigger than it currently is. They add that Bryce Dallas Howard (50/50, Spider-Man 3) and David Oyelowo (Rise of The Planet of The Apes, Jack Reacher) had meetings and were front-runners for lead roles.

JURASSIC PARK 4 Director Colin Trevorrow Promises No Feathered Dinos

While Jurassic Park 4 has finally landed it's director Colin Trevorrow and screenwriters with a release date set for June of next Summer. A few odds and ends have been yet to be announced including the cast. That news is likely around the corner but Colin has given equally positive update for fans of the original two films. He simply states via Twitter the dinosaurs won't have feathers in his film. Since the first installment in 1993 science started moving dinos and birds closer together. Which led to raptors with feathers in the third film. Instead of confusing audiences and keeingp the mythology canon they will keep the look more similar to the original film. Rather than what's been showing on The Discovery Channel for the last fifteen years. A smart move to win over original fans of the franchise early on during it's production.

Colin Trevorrow To Direct JURASSIC PARK 4 For Universal

Deadline reports that indie director Colin Trevorrow has been hired by producer Steven Spielberg and Universal to direct Jurassic Park 4. The project recently lost producer Kathy Kennedy to Star Wars but still kept it's June 13th 2014 release date. Based on the iconic material from the novels of Michael Crichton the script was written by screenwriting duo Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. The pair are best known for writing Rise of The Planet of The Apes and Dawn of The Planet of The Apes.

There were recent talks that production was gearing up in Baton Rouge but a director had yet to be announced. Colin is best known for his time-travel comedy Safety Not Guaranteed he was recently tasked by Disney to remake the 80's classic The Flight of The Navigator. He was also linked and championed to take over the Star Wars franchise before J.J. Abrams' involvement was confirmed. No word on what direction they'll be going with but it's expected to be a reboot of sorts rather than another sequel.

Colin Trevorrow Could Direct FLIGHT OF THE NAVIGATOR For Disney

Variety has word that Colin Trevorrow has been trapped by Disney along with his Safety Not Guaranteed co-writer Derek Connolly to put together a script for their Flight of The Navigator remake. Colin is seemingly out of the running for Star Wars Episode VII as he could end up directing Navigator.

Did Colin Trevorrow Confirm His Involvement With STAR WARS Back In June?

People have been digging for information on who will be directing Star Wars Episode VII and FilmSchoolRejects has finally come up with something a little more concrete than previous speculations. Colin Trevorrow who has been closely connected for the film had an interview over the summer while promoting Safety Not Guaranteed. He mentions on video a beloved project he was currently working on at the time that has established fans and mythology. Add this to talk he's been linked as a director candidate for Star Wars and it sounds like he could have already been a frontrunner to helm.

"I can’t speak with any specificity as to what the next thing will be. There are amazing opportunities that have arisen as a result of this. One of them, I will say, will probably create a good deal of ire against me on the Internet when people find out what it is. So, I just want to say in advance that I promise you, for all those who love the mythology that I will be tackling, trust that I love it as much as you do. And I will respect it, and hopefully make it not suck."

Colin Trevorrow Comments On STAR WARS EPISODE VII

When asked during a podcast writer/director Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) about the rumor he's being looked at to be the director of Star Wars Episode VII. He doesn't straight out deny and gives a very political answer. Similar to what Jon Favreau recently said about the project. This gives the impression he's at least involved with talks with LucasFilms.

“I have very little to say about it. [stammering] Certainly, no specifics about whats going on behind the scenes in the selection of that person [a director]. I think that I can speak as a Star Wars fan, which is important to me. Whoever does do this movie, I think, just needs to have a fundamental understanding of why its important to us. We come from a generation who grew up with this as children, to us its almost a belief system. Its harder for people who are older or who were already teenagers when the movie came out to understand how deeply it is our mythology.And there are a bunch of incredible directors who are up for this job… I think whoever gets it will have that fundamental understanding of why Star Wars matters so much to a billion people. Its just incredible. So that’s all I can say about that. I’m equally excited about it. … that’s all you’re gonna get!”

 It would be awesome because it means there would be a stronger chance that Aubrey Plaza (Scott Pilgrim, Parks And Rec, Funny People, Mystery Team, Safety Not Garanteed) could end up in a role.
