Could Russell Crowe Be The New Robocop?

HeatVision reports that Jose Padilha's (Elite Squad 1-2) Robocop has another writer working on it's script.  Nick Schenk (Gran Tarino) has been brought on to beef up the existing screenplay. Another interesting tidbit comes from Variety/ShowBlitz's Jeff Sneider teasing via Twitter that Russell Crowe is also being linked with Robocop. Just yesterday Crowe was linked with Darren Aronofsky's massive bible epic Noah. He recently filmed scenes for Zack Snyder's Man of Steel cameoing as Superman's biological father Jor-El. It looks like Crowe might be aiming for Micheal Fassbender's leftovers as he was linked to both Noah and Robocop at one point.
