NO JOE! Martin Cambpell Will Direct SEBASTIAN X Not G.I. JOE 3
A new report from Variety looks to have squashed any rumors that Kiwi director Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, Goldeneye, Green Lantern) could be directing G.I. Joe 3. They are reporting that Martin is now attached to direct a feature adaptation of the French graphic novel Sebastian X. This is coming from both the production company and producers behind the hit series The Walking Dead. Not to mention Walking Dead producer Gale Anne Hurd, best known for producing films like Terminator, Aliens, Terminator 2, Alien Nation, The Abyss and Tremors. Her comic book movie credits include The Incredible Hulk and Punisher: War Zone.
Here's the synopsis of the spy-like comic book. An elite cop who, after a near-fatal injury, is implanted with the memories of the world’s most notorious terrorist — Sebastian X — in order to infiltrate his group before their next attack.
It's possible Paramount wanted him for G.I. Joe 3, but it seems very unlikely any talks took place. Considering how two trade reports have linked him to other films. TheWrap mentioning him as attached for the currently stalled Hunter Killer in September. It's unlikely we'll see Campbell helping-out the real American heroes. This also seems like comic book material a bit more fitted to experience with Bond films.
You might remember that the genre hit The Snowpiercer was based on an obscure French graphic novel as well. So this could be a big deal, if handled the right way and given the right budget.

Jai Courtney Among Five Candidates Testing For Kyle Reese In TERMINATOR: GENESIS
Variety is reporting that Terminator: Genesis is still looking for it's new Kyle Reese. Australian actor Jai Courtney (Jack Reacher, A Good Day To Die Hard, Spartacus) is leading a group of five candidates that have tested for Reese. The list of lesser known actors includes Boyd Holbrook, Tom Cocquerel, Wilson Bethel and Sam Reid. Boyd had been previously linked for the role of John Connor. The main roles are expected to be apart of a new Termintor trilogy, starting with Genesis. Courtney's previous working relationship with Skydance Pictures on Jack Reacher could make him the front-runner of the group.
The group apparently went in for screen tests on Monday, which could mean an announcement on the outcome might be released very soon. These new names could mean Taylor Kistch (Lone Survivor, Battleship, John Carter, Savages) and Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max Fury Road, X-Men Days of Future Past) are now out of the running to play Reese.
Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Jason Clarke (Lawless, Public Enemies, Zero Dark Thirty) and Arnold Schawarznegger have been confirmed for roles in the fifth installment. Emilia is the new Sarah Connor and Jason is the older John Connor. Arnold's role has yet to be revealed, but is rumored to be playing a new human character. Games of Thrones showrunner and director Alan Taylor will be helming the film. Genesis will be a follow up to Alan's massively successful feature directorial debut Thor: The Dark World, which has earned $632 million globally.
ActingAuditions has confirmed that production begins in April, and will shoot on location in New Orleans, Louisiana. The area has become a hot-spot for big action productions, which will also see Jurassic World shoot there as well. Terminator: Genesis has a release date set for July 1st, 2015.

Could Arnold Schwarzenegger End Up Playing Sgt. Rock?
He also has a comic book film that he'll be announcing in the coming months. While people seem stumped about what comic book character he could be talking about. It's very possible it could be Sgt. Rock that Warner Bros. and producer Joel Silver have been working on for decades. Arnold had been attached to the project since the 80's and it's still very possible he could have one more shot at the character. Guy Ritchie and Francis Lawrence have both been mentioned as potential directors. Of course it could be another project all together.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is BACK

Now that the Governor is done heading budget meetings, many sources say he’s officially considering offers. What could this mean? When taking into account his recent cameos in Terminator 4 (virtual) and The Expendables it’s more than possible that he could be starting his comeback in their upcoming sequels. It’s already been reported that Expendables 2 is making major additions to the casting list by the possible addition of Jean Claude Van Damme and expanding Bruce Willis’ previous cameo to a major role. Also MTV reports that Universal Studios is strongly considering handing the Terminator franchise to director Justin Lin and screenwriter Chris Morgan. The combo is currently handling the “Fast and Furious” franchise. Their newest installment “Fast Five” (the fifth movie of the franchise) is basically a big reunion of characters from the previous four films. It’s a loose potential comparison but when considering that casting assemblage, if Justin Lin and Chris Morgan take over the Terminator Franchise, the Governor might make a “real” appearance in the near future.
