Emma Stone Wants Gwen Dead In AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2?

We got the official announcement that director Marc Webb and star Andrew Garfield would be returning for Amazing Spider-Man 2. While Emma Stone was still only in talks, which is sort of odd. The film is expected to begin production in early 2013 with a May 2nd 2014 release date set.  This would mean that Sony needs to lineup their actors soon so pre-production can begin.

The rumor at the moment is that Stone could be talking with the studio about Gwen's fate in the trilogy. In the comics Gwen is killed by The Green Goblin and changes Peter forever. Hints to this were shown in the first film with Norman Osborn and Oscorp having their seeds planted. Sony might be trying to delay the actress from exiting the franchise by keeping her alive until the third movie. Webb and Stone have given the impression that they want her out sooner rather than later. Obviously making room for a new actress playing Mary Jane Watson to join the franchise.

Stunning Trailer For STOKER

Director Marc Webb Confirmed For AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

Variety finally has confirmed that director Marc Webb has signed on to direct Amazing Spider-Man 2. I'm sure Sony and Webb's agent have made a solid deal for Webb who wasn't contracted for the sequel when he originally took the job with the first movie. Fox had also been pursuing him to start their two-picture deal. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone will be reprising their roles with a May 2nd 2014 release date. No word on the villain but rumors have The Jekyll and Green Goblin as possible baddies.

Martin Freeman And Eddie Marsan Join THE WORLD'S END

HeatVision reports that Martin Freeman (Hitchhiker's Guide, The Hobbit, Sherlock) and Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes, Alice Creed, Happy Go-Lucky) have joined the cast of The World's End. The final installment of Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg's comedy/genre trilogy. End focuses on a group of friends reconnecting during an epic pub crawl (ala The Big Chill). Meanwhile, there could be an alien invasion happening around them. Pegg and Nick Frost star in the film alongside new additions Rosamund Pike and Paddy Considine.

PROMETHEUS Sequel Titled PARADISE?

So it's been all around success for Ridley Scott's Prometheus as the film will eventually reach $400 million plus in the worldwide box office. Almost cementing it's sequel possibly titled Paradise to happen as the VOD and home video sales should help make up for it's slow opening numbers. That said, it looks like the Blu Ray release with seven hours of content will be answering questions the film seemed to scale over or ignore completely. As it's first ad "Questions Will Be Answered" seemingly does just that for audiences.

Apparently the name David gives to the Engineers' home world is Paradise (working title for the second film) which Shaw is now heading. Not to mention that LV426 was originally the main location of Prometheus in original drafts of the script. I assume that Paradise could eventually become the planet that started the whole Alien franchise by the end of the sequel.

Len Wiseman To Direct THE MUMMY Reboot

Deadline reports that action junkie Len Wiseman (Underworld, Die Hard 4, Total Recall) will direct The Mummy reboot for Universal. The site reveals the reboot won't be a period film like the successful trilogy. It will be a present day set horror flick removing the comedy elements of the other films. Giving us a "darker and scarier" take on the classic monster movie. Wiseman will be bringing his excellent visual presence and flare for action sequences. While the scary script will be handled by Jon Spaiths who recently wrote Prometheus for Fox.

Ten Rings A Major Player In IRON MAN 3?

It's looking like the terrorist group that had a hand in Tony Stark developing his Iron Man armor is getting their revenge on Stark in Iron Man 3. As LatinoReview has discovered a crew hat that reveals the Ten Rings logo. Originally, the Ten Rings had assumed to be a subtle hint to the Mandarin who dons ten rings of power. Now that the Mandarin (Ben Kingsley) has been confirmed it seems he very well might have been pulling the strings the entire time.

Mark Millar To Consult Fox On Their Marvel Films

It's looking like 20th Century Fox is taking another lesson from Marvel Studios as they have announced that comic book creator/writer Mark Millar will now consult their Marvel movies. He'll be involved in the creative development of the Wolverine, X-Men, Fantastic Four and Deadpool franchises. Millar is best known for his creator owned projects such as Wanted, Kick-Ass, Nemesis (film setup at Fox), Superior and Supercrooks. He is also one of the creative minds behind Marvel comics Ultimates (influencing Phase One/Two Marvel films), Civil War and Wolverine: Old Man Logan. I assume that this move is similar to Marvel placing Joss Whedon in the role of creative head of their phase two films. Mark could really bring new life/voice to these projects most notably Deadpool and the budding Fantastic Four reboot.

This is a giant step for Fox who has never really used the comic book community as a resource. Previously they had studio executives call the creative side of their superhero projects. There had been rumors that the studio was trying to connect their heroes in their own Marvel universe similar to what Marvel Studios is doing at the moment. I wouldn't be shocked to see Millar spearheading the Deadpool film first. Seeing an Old Man Logan in Wolverine 3 could also be a very interesting possibility. I'm sure it didn't hurt that Millar and Matthew Vaughn (X-Men First Class, X-Men Days Of Future Past) have such a strong working relationship.

Poster For LES MISERABLES

Ben Whishaw Wanted For ROBOPOCALYPSE

Variety reports yet another possible addition to the cast of Steven Spielberg's Robopocalypse. As British actor Ben Whishaw is wanted for the role of hacker Lurker. Whishaw is best known for his roles in Perfume and Layer Cake. He'll be seen next in Cloud Atlas and as the new Q in Skyfall. The sci-fi action film already has Chris Hemsworth (Thor, Avengers) in place for the lead and Anne Hathaway (Dark Knight Rises) is being courted for the female role.

Matt Reeves And Others Wanted To Direct DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES

Now that director Rupert Wyatt has exited the Planet of The Apes franchise. Fox is now on the hunt for a new director to replace him with the 2014 release date looming. Deadline reports that Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Let Me In) is on the top of their list along with other candidates that include Guillermo del Toro (Pacific Rim, Hellboy), Rian Johnson (Looper, Brick), J Blakeson (Alice Creed), Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later), Jeff Nichols (Take Shelter) and Juan Antonio Bayona (The Impossible).

Reeves has left the Twilight Zone film which was setup at Warner Bros., so there's a good chance he'll sign on. Guillermo is also a solid choice as he's a genre nut and could really amp up the action aspect for the sequel. Johnson's jump into science fiction with Looper could make him a decent candidate. Only problem is that Rian usually only directs projects he writes himself. I assume if he signs on he'll be making script rewrites which would only be a benefit to the project.

THOR 2 Plot Theories

Here are some of my theories on the upcoming sequel to Thor while nothing here is confirmed it's all somewhat plausible.

DARK ELVES: We currently have no clue what the motivations of the dark elves will be. Considering the Casket of Ancient Winters was already used in the first film it's possible another relic in the vault could be their quest. Not to mention breaking whatever peace was in place before the new conflict between the Asgardians and the Frost Giants. As Odin says, "opening these peaceful realms to war". Giving the impression that war with the other realms is looming and could breakout in the sequel.

Christopher Eccelson of Shallow Grave, Gone In Sixty Seconds, Doctor Who and 28 Days Later is playing villain Malekith The Accursed. The dark elf has been a constant pain in Thor's side, taking many shots at his life. It could be interesting to see if he'll be the banished outsider or more a leader of the elves in the film.

TYR: Clive Russell's addition to the cast as Tyr brings some serious gravitas to the film with the character actor's credits including The 13th Warrior, King Arthur, Game of Thrones, Sherlock Holmes 1-2, Wolfman, Cracker and Spaced. We currently don't know if he'll end up a villain or Thor's ally as he's taken both sides in the comics. As the older brother of Thor and son Odin he felt slighted as Thor replaced him as next inline for the throne and given the title defender of the realms. Tyr had been the hero of Asgard as the God of War and it's protector. It's very well possible there could be an alliance between Tyr's rebels and the dark elves to seize Asgard. It's very possible Tyr could be the leader of Valhalla (as a fallen hero) and it's protector and Thor is sent in help hold the lines from invading forces. Since Odin also rules over Valhalla along with Asgard.

THE EINHERJAR/VALHALLA: Nothing links Richard Brake's role as a villain but playing a few in Batman Begins and Hannibal Rises might mean he's also fighting Thor. However, Brake will play a captain in the Einherjar a group of "lone warriors" who die on the battle field and then taken to Valhalla by the Valkyries. This tidbit might reveal to us that Valhalla (realm of fallen heroes) might be one of the other realms in the film and could be the front line for those battle scenes.

Alice Krige's addition to the cast sparked a bit of interest with her involvement as the Borg Queen in the Star Trek franchise. Add this to the speculation that she could be playing Hela would has with an army of undead soldiers have tried to conquer Valhalla from her own realm Hel. Seeing her backed by Malekith for their own power grab of the realms could be an interesting possibility as well.

FANDRAL: Rumblings of the recasting of Fandral by Zachary Levi (Chuck) along with rumors of a major character getting killed off. Seems to be pointing to Fandral possibly losing his life by the end of the film. Of course this is speculation but it could be a great way to showcase the character in more scenes before seeing him slain. I had a theory that Darcy (Kat Dennings) and Fandral sparking a romance in the sequel could be an interesting way to develop the Casanova warrior into more than just another sword in the film. Add the fact Valhalla might be a setting the two could end up fighting alongside each other and his death might not be the end of his appearances in the film.

RUMOR: Benedict Cumberbatch To Play Villain In BOND 24?

It seems that we're already starting to see Bond 24 rumors start to reveal themselves as CBM has picked up on an early one. This would see Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, Star Trek Into Darkness, War Horse) pursing or wanted for the villain role in the untitled film. Daniel Craig has officially signed on for two more films which could have lead to early development of the next installment after Skyfall's extensive delays over the last couple of years. I wouldn't be shocked if they're going with previously scrapped or altered stories that were cut out during the lengthly script phase of the project. Of course it's way too early to even consider the producers even trying to wrangle actors but Cumberbatch is in high demand and would need to sign on early in it's casting process. Not to mention this "news" is sourced from a British tabloid.

No word yet on the next film's director but there had been previous interest from both Danny Boyle and Christopher Nolan. However, Nolan hinted his take would involve a new Bond leading to the exit of Craig. My money would be on Boyle only because he makes the most sense as a follow up to Sam Mendes. We could also see a new take on the franchise and see Mendes stay on for the sequel. Having a director make back to back Bond films.

Gina Carano Attached To Female Version Of EXPENDABLES

Variety reports that Gina Carano (MMA fighter turned action star) has attached herself to an unnamed female driven action project inspired by The Expendables. Gina has recently taken some solid action roles with Haywire and Fast And Furious 6. During speculation for the casting of Expendables 2 Gina's name had been tossed around for a late addition or consideration for Expendables 3. There had been speculation that names like Linda Hamilton (Terminator 1-2) and Sigourney Weaver (Alien franchise) could also end up be pursued for roles as well. I wouldn't rule out names like Uma Thurman (Kill Bill), Zoe Saldana (Star Trek, Avatar), Kate Beckinsale (Underworld, Total Recall), Michelle Rodriguez (Machete) and Noomi Rapace (Sherlock Holmes 2, Prometheus, Dragon Tattoo) also ending up in the mix.

Anne Hathaway Could Join Chris Hemsworth In ROBOPOCALYPSE

THR reports that Anne Hathaway (Dark Knight Rises) is now currently in talks to take the female lead in Steven Spielberg's Robopcalypse. The sci-fi actioner already has Chris Hemsworth (Avengers, Thor) cast in the main role.

FIRST LOOK: Hugh Jackman In THE WOLVERINE

Clive Russell Is Tyr In THOR 2

Deadline reports that Thor: The Dark World will have two decent additions to it's cast. First up is Clive Russell (Game of Thrones, Sherlock Holmes, Wolfman) in the role of Tyr. The god of war is the former hero of Asgard and the legitimate brother of Thor who very well might rebel against his war. Which might explain the group of wild looking Asgardians fighting alongside what could be dark elves in set photos. Also, Richard Blake (Batman Begins, Outpost, Doom) will have a role in the film as well playing a captain of the Einherjar, a warrior team that fought alongside Thor in battle.

Scott Porter Wants To Play Nova In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, James Gunn Confirmed As Director

MTV caught up with Friday Night Lights actor Scott Porter about Guardians of The Galaxy and his campaigning for the role of Nova. The actor also commented on confirmed director James Gunn tackling the property. Porter has been spotted at a bunch of premires rocking Marvel tees and is a self-proclaimed comic book geek himself. Recently he has voiced Cyclops in the X-Men anime series. Scott had also tested for the role of Captain America for First Avenger.

"Marvel just announced that they're doing 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' which is another property that I love. I read it growing up....I'd love to play Nova or another [cosmic character]."

"Gunn is a unique choice. I think he could be a really great shephard for that property," added Porter. "I think 'Guardians' is going to be a lot of fun. I think it'll be very cool. I thought the next thing I might try and go after is 'Heroes for Hire,' but it looks like 'Guardians' is around, so..."

James Gunn has finally confirmed he will indeed direct and rewrite Guardians of The Galaxy.

“For a month or so there’s been a lot of Internet speculation about my involvement with Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Until now I haven’t said anything, because I’m trying to be less expulsive about this project than I am about the rest of my life. But last night I got the go-ahead from Kevin Feige to let you all know that, yes, indeed, I am rewriting and directing Guardians of the Galaxy. As a lifelong lover of Marvel comics, space epics, AND raccoons, this is the movie I’ve been waiting to make since I was nine years old. Kevin, Joss, and all the folks at Marvel have been amazing collaborators so far, and we’re committed to bringing you something majestic, beautiful, and unique.

I am incredibly excited. I am also incredibly grateful to the fans and the press for all their words of encouragement and support regarding my involvement with this project since the news first leaked. Thanks – you have, honestly, touched and overwhelmed me. And that’s it for now. Other than the occasional photos of my dog and cat here on Facebook, I’ll talk to you again in August 2014 when Guardians is released!”

HULK 2 Taking Cues From PLANET HULK, Leading To WORLD WAR HULK In AVENGERS 3?

There seems to be a bit of speculation via SlashFilm concerning new quotes that Marvel's Kevin Feige gave to MTV. Kevin has answered the question if Marvel will take into consideration Planet Hulk with Incredible Hulk 2. He doesn't rule it out but confirms we won't see him in a solo adventure until Avengers 2 is released. We already know the studio plans on making another Hulk film and brining in the cosmic world gives more avenues for the character to explore. Joss Whedon has mentioned wanting to give writing the sequel a shot.

I don’t think there’s a lot that we couldn’t do someday, as the cinematic universe continues to grow and expand and get as big as the comic book universe. ”Planet Hulk’ is a cool story, ‘World War Hulk’ is a cool story. I think there’s pitfalls of continuity-overload, and mythology getting so dense that it almost collapses in on itself [with those cosmic projects]. It happens every few decades or so in the comics. Apart from that, I’d say everything is on the table.

Considering, Guardians of The Galaxy will be opening the door to the cosmic world it's safe to say that seeing Hulk shot into space by the Avengers/Guardians at the end of Avengers 2 could be a decent way to end the sequel. Planet Hulk centers on Hulk being shot into a wormhole landing on a violent planet where he leads an uprising, resulting in him becoming it's King. He finds his way back to Earth with his followers/army to get revenge in World War Hulk. Seeing Hulk the main villain in Avengers 3 could be an interesting way to end the trilogy if that's the way they go. There is still speculation that the Skrulls will somehow get involved in the franchise if they're not used as Thanos' new army.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Getting A Rewrite From James Gunn

Joss Whedon was at TIFF and spoke to MTV about James Gunn directing Guardians of The Galaxy. He gives the impression that the deal is pretty much a done deal for James to direct the cosmic team. Calling his take "twisted", giving the impression Gunn will also be contributing to Nicole Perlman's script with his own rewrites. Whedon is going to be the creative force behind the Phase Two movies so his word is the gospel at this point. We should expect a more official announcement concerning Guardians in the coming months.

“James is what makes me think it will work. I myself was sort of like, 'Well, I liked Rocket Raccoon as a kid, but I'm not sure how that plays [to a wider audience].' And then they said, 'Well, we're thinking about using James Gunn.' And I said, 'Oh, then no, you're fine.' He is so off the wall, and so crazy, but so smart, such a craftsman and he builds from his heart. He loves the raccoon. Needs the raccoon. This is the guy who wrote 'The Specials.' People don't understand how influential that movie was about heroes, about taking heroes and making them mundane. And [he directed] 'Super.' Gunn has barely started, but already has a very twisted take on it, but it all comes from a real love for the material. It's going to be hard for the humans to keep up," said Whedon. "I know he's going to come from left field and I'm going to go, 'What?' And then, 'Of course, why didn't I think of that?' And then I'm going to beat him!”

RUMOR: Viggo Mortensen Wanted For Doctor Strange In THOR: THE DARK WORLD?

ScreenRant (via ThePlaylist) has the idea that the role Marvel wants Viggo Mortensen (Lord of The Rings, Eastern Promises) for is actually Dr. Stephen Strange. It's been reported by different sources including ThePlaylist that Strange would be Jane Foster's (Natalie Portman) colleague in Thor: The Dark World. Strange ends up becoming an important supporting character in the film. Joel Edgerton (Warrior, Zero Dark Thiry) has also been linked for the role. The Thor sequel is about to begin production so this news will likely be confirmed sooner rather than later.

The rest of the cast includes Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Christopher Eccelson, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Stellan Skarsgård, Jaimie Alexander, Ray Stevenson and Zachary Levi. Alan Taylor of Game of Thrones is directing a script from Don Payne and Robert Rodat with a release date of November 8th 2013.

Strange would be an important piece of the Marvel Cinematic Universe puzzle. Since he'd get his own film which already has a script in place and could join the Avengers in it's sequel. Marvel has previously introduced characters in a similar manner so it's very likely this is happening. During the release of Thor in Odin's vault The Eye of Agamotto was spotted. The relic is linked to Strange and is yet another tidbit fuelling this rumor.

CAST EM': Edgar Wright's ANT-MAN

It was announced at Comic-Con that Edgar Wright's Ant-Man will indeed be apart of Phase Two. While it's release date hasn't been revealed it's expected to come out sometime in 2014. Edgar is about to begin shooting World's End in October with a possible Spring release. The production start for Ant-Man has been rumored to start after Thor: The Dark World wraps on the London stages. Giving the impression it will shoot while Captain America: The Winter Solider shoots stateside. Casting is expected to start heating up this Winter and I have a couple of ideas who should be placed in roles.

EWAN MCGREGOR AS DR. HANK PYM

BRADLEY COOPER AS SCOTT LANG

ALISON BRIE AS JANET VAN DYNE

RAFE SPALL AS ERIC O'GRADY

SIMON PEGG AS ELIHAS STARR

ALAN RICKMAN AS ULTRON

SPECULATION: Kitty Pryde Appearing In THE WOLVERINE And X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST?

Hugh Jackman has already confirmed The Wolverine won't have connections to X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Being a standalone film gives the impression it might not even have ties to the original trilogy. Going as far as rumors of director James Mangold re-shooting Logan's origin scenes. We currently don't know the film's timeline or connections to the other films. However, GeekFiles (via CBM) has spotted the Jean Grey School For Higher Learning logo on set. The school is founded by Wolverine with himself acting as headmaster and Kitty Pryde as it's headmistress. Could this be the way Fox links X-Men: Days of Future Past with X-Men 4?

Kitty and Logan are important characters to the Days of Future Past source material so it wouldn't be hard to imagine them being featured in Matthew Vaughn's sequel. The pair even had their own set of team-up comics, so Shadow Cat could show up in The Wolverine. It's unknown at this point if they'll be able to get Ellen Page back as Kitty or just recast the part all together. The First Class sequel is set to start production early next year, planting seeds a year before it's release wouldn't hurt.

Jessica Biel had been linked for a role in The Wolverine but oddly walked from talks. The role had been revealed as Viper who has a history with Logan but went to Russian actress Svetlana Khodchenkova instead. Perhaps, she wasn't wanted for Viper but instead an older version of Kitty. If it had been reported that Biel had landed the Kitty role it would be apparent what Fox was trying to do, bridging the two X-Men franchises. We know that the studio is currently trying to put together X-Men 4 and seeking out a new team of mutants could be a way to separate itself from Vaughn's franchise.

CAST EM': AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

The reboot of the Spider-Man franchise has divided most fans as most either loved or loathed Marc Webb's take on the web-head. Audiences have spoken with their wallets shelling out over $743 million worldwide. Sony has already set a release date of May 2nd 2014 for Amazing Spider-Man 2. James Vanderbilt and Roberto Orci (Star Trek 1-2, Transformers) have been working on it's script with the cast signed on to return. Director Marc Webb is still trying to talk to Fox so the studio will allow him to make Spidey 2 first before being forced into other projects. Sony could end up finding another director to fill his shoes or (less likely) buy out Webb's contract with Fox if need him badly enough. Either way, the franchise will move forward and here are some of my thoughts on future casting additions.

JANE LEVY AS MARY JANE WATSON

MICHAEL SHEEN AS NORMAN OSBORN

ANTON YELCHIN AS HARRY OSBORN

DONALD GLOVER AS MILES MORALES/ROBBIE ROBERTSON

FRAN KRANZ AS ALISTAIR SMYTHE

JUNO TEMPLE AS FELICIA HARDY

CAST EM': Five Actors For DOCTOR STRANGE

Rumors of Marvel introducing audiences to Dr. Stephen Strange in Thor: The Dark World have been coming from a couple of different sources. Not to mention Orb of Agamotto showing up in Odin's vault has seemingly given enough evidence to believe this might be happening. The orb is scrying crystal ball used by Doctor Strange for clairvoyance. It has been known to open gateways between dimensions. It seems like an excellent way to raise the awareness of the character before moving forward with his solo adventure. Another reason why Guardians of The Galaxy was chosen over Strange and Black Panther. Considering that the Strange film also has a script completed and had been going out to directors last November. A couple of names that have been linked to play Strange include Johnny Depp and out of the running Aussie actor Joel Edgerton (Warrior, Zero Dark Thirty).  I've put together a decent enough list of candidates that Marvel should at least consider.

JOHNNY DEPP: Depp has long been linked for the movie along with Guillermo del Toro as it's director. He has the fifth Pirates of The Caribbean film in development and a possible sequel to The Lone Ranger. It could be an easy payday for the actor but it wouldn't make sense to see Depp in the role as he might steal Thor's thunder.

BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH: Ben has been long rumored to be in talks with Marvel Studios for a role. That has been mentioned more than once and has since led him to visit the offices while promoting  Sherlock. A few things might hold him back from taking the gig which includes the third Sherlock series, work on The Hobbit/Stark Trek Into The Darkness and commitments to the George Smiley (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) sequels.

KARL URBAN: Best known for supporting roles in The Lord of The Rings and Stark Trek franchises. He's also taken on action roles in Bourne Supremecy and more recently with Dredd. The Kiwi actor seems like a perfect match if they're going to make the series more of an adventure thriller. While there have been positive reviews for Dredd, Karl hasn't found a franchise he could end up holding up himself. The only thing that could stop him is commitments to Star Trek 3 and a Dredd sequel.

KIT HARINGTON: If it does turn out to be true that Strange will be working alongside Jane Foster it could be interesting to see him develop a love interest with Darcy (Kat Dennings) during The Dark World. Kit Harington seems perfect if Marvel is aiming for a younger take on the character. He has a history with director Alan Taylor working with him on Game of Thrones. The only issue here is his commitments to the series and his other films' promotional tours. Marvel could have their next Chris Evans/Chris Hemsworth if they ended up going someone like Kit.

VIGGO MORTENSEN: It's rumored currently that Marvel is in talks with Viggo Mortensen (Lord of The Rings, History of Violence, Eastern Promises) for a Phase Two film. ScreenRant has already speculated it could be Dr. Strange for Thor: The Dark World. If this is true it would a triumphant casting choice since Viggo could be as big as landing Hugo Weaving, Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Downey Jr. previously. Not to mention he has been turning down blockbusters left and right lately (Man of Steel, SWATH, Dark Tower), so wrangling him would be quite the feat. Mortensen is an actor who chooses projects based on their director. If they're able to actually sign-on Guillermo del Toro (was attached to direct at one point) or another high-profiled director, it could be enough to get him to sign on.

RUMOR: Rebooted Batman And Lobo To Be Featured In JUSTICE LEAGUE?

CBM is reporting that Warner Bros. is currently bouncing around the idea of bringing in Lobo into the the Justice League film. While nothing is confirmed Dwayne Johnson has been closely in talks with director Brad Peyton and producer Joel Silver for the solo movie. It's unknown if they'd have Lobo join the team or end up a villain.

On another note there are rumblings we won't have to wait long to see the rebooted Batman. BatmanOnFilm says that WB is looking to first introduce this new take on Batman in the Justice League film and then a new franchise.

"Said [Batman] reboot will come after the JL film, not before. Therefore, the new cinematic Batman will be introduced in the JL film as opposed to a solo film. This would, according to my industry "FOBOF," assure the new Batman film series will be part of a "DC Cinematic Universe."

Surtur Showing Up In THOR THE DARK WORLD?

Another tweet from Mr. Wardell reveals that the dark elves might have an ally in Surtur. As the fire demon could be involved in Thor: The Dark World. It's the first time I've heard this type of talk but Surtur's eternal flame is seen sitting among the other relics in Odin's vault. This leads me to believe this rumor and should help Thor fans expect a bigger epic the second time around.

Will Baron Zemo Be In WINTER SOLDIER?

Roger Wardell has tweeted an interesting villain addition to Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He states that Winter Soldier will be answering to Baron Zemo. Wardell is a repuatable source so it's hard not to get excited for this news. There have been previous talk that Dr. Zola would factor into the film in his robotic form. The writers had been hinting that a version of Modok might be involved as well. Introducing Zemo could be a way to bring in the Masters of Evil. A group of villains (likely from the other films) who come together to take down the Avengers.

Viggo Mortensen And Aldis Hodge Taking Marvel Roles?

ThePlaylist has picked up on a Marvel insider's Twitter account that has been revealing tidbits which includes a second source confirming that Doctor Strange is expected to have an important role in Thor: The Dark World. They mention that Viggo Mortensen (Eastern Promises, Lord of The Rings) is currently in negations for role in one of the Phase Two movies. Viggo has had a history of talking but exiting rather large projects lately. He turned down the Zod role in Man of Steel and the Huntsman in SWATH. Marvel could be aiming him to tackle a villain as he'd only be contracted for a few films. There is already speculation that Viggo could be pursuing the role of Dr. Stephen Strange which would see him join the cast of the Thor sequel.

Another interesting bit of casting includes up and coming actor Aldis Hodge is now on Marvel's radar. I'm sure like many before him he's been testing for Black Panther and Luke Cage. Hodge's credits include Die Hard 3, Leverage and Friday Night Lights.

SPECULATION: Could Anna Kendrick End Up Playing Spider-Woman In WINTER SOLDIER?

There is talk that Hayley Atwell could end up taking on the role of Sharon Carter in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. If this is the case, where does this leave Anna Kendrick's role in the film? Anna has been a front-runner for an unnamed new female part. I wouldn't be shocked if this turns out to be Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman) and not Sharon Carter. Jessica (like Bucky has slowed aging) could end up another brainwashed assassin who works alongside Winter Soldier in a present day Russian based HYDRA. The villain turned Avenger has been a candidate to join the lineup since the talk of brining in a female heroine with powers for Avengers 2. If the Skrulls or Civil War ends up involved with the Avengers franchise Jessica would factor into those stories greatly. She's also been an agent for both S.H.I.E.L.D and S.W.O.R.D. , so that could be further explored in the films.

Radioactive Man Showing Up In IRON MAN 3?

Yet another sub-character has been revealed for Iron Man 3. There is word (via GeekTyrant) that the role Andy Lau was looking to take was nuclear scientist Chen Lu (Radioactive Man). Lu starts out as a villain working for the Mandarin only to become a anti-hero member of the Thunderbolts. Chinese actor Wang Xueqi has seemingly been placed in that role.
