Films That Should Be Made: Uncharted

The widely well received second installment in the game series is more than enough reason to think that it's ripe for adaptation. It doesn't hurt that the game actually looks and feels like an action adventure film. A mix of Indiana Jones, Mission Impossible, James Bond and Bourne the game seems to be an explosion of action. I expect to see this become a new franchise. Since there are already two games released and the eventual third installment in the works.

Louis Leterrier would be the perfect choice for directing. Leterrier's visual style and thrilling pace of his films is a great fit for an Uncharted film.

CASTING THOUGHTS

Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Red Dawn, Watchmen, The Losers) as Nathan Drake

Elizabeth Banks (Spider-Man 1-3, Zack & Miri) as Elena Fisher

Lena Heady (300) as Chloe Frazer

UPDATE: It looks like Sony Pictures and Marvel's super producer Avi Arad are working together to make a film based on Drake's Fortune, the first game. Kyle Ward (Hitman) was originally hired to work on script but because of his commitment to writing Hitman 2 has left. Now Sony has hired the writing team Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer who recently wrote the Conan reboot. The reason for the change up was to move the project into production sooner.
