Warner Bros. Has The Script For JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK

Forbes has word from Guillermo del Toro that the script for Justice League Dark aka Dark Universe has been sent-in to Warner Bros. The project has been in-development for sometime but hasn't been given the greenlight by the studio. A major reason it wasn't apart of their DC movie release date slate the studio hasn't actually committed to it yet.

We still have no idea what writer collaborated with del Toro on the script. There is also a bit ambiguity if Guillermo is going to direct or just produce. His next film will be Pacific Rim 2 which is due out in 2017, around the same time as Wonder Woman and Justice League. I think it all comes down to if Warner Bros. commits to the draft they've been given.

Guillermo Del Toro Writing Outline For DARK UNIVERSE Confirms They've Found A Screenwriter

IGN talked to Guillermo del Toro on his in-development DC Comic film Heaven Sent. Previously, coy about the project Guillermo was a little forthcoming with details revealing it's working title is Dark Universe. Confirming that he's currently writing the outline and has hired a screenwriter to flush out the script. However, the film hasn't been greenlit by the studio which will likely come down to how the script turns out. He names Swamp Thing, John Constantine, Deadman, Spectre, Zatanna and Etrigan The Demon as being involved in the film. Warner Bros. could be looking to start-off their own cohesive DC Universe with Man of Steel leading to Justice League. It's possible that Dark Universe could somehow inhabit the same cinematic world as Justice League.

Guillermo Comments On Desire To Make HEAVEN SENT

Apparently, there had been rumblings online that writer/director Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth, Pacific Rim) was denying the report that he was being tapped to direct Heaven Sent. The DC Comics occult hero mash-up would see Deadman, Swamp-Thing, Zatanna, Spectre, Hellblazer and others included in a team film. Guillermo has commented via his official site stating that he never spoke on the project before and professes his desire to make it. It's sounding like the denial statement was about his involvement with Justice League.

"Wow- please contact whoever said I denied it. I cannot recall ever answering a question like that. Sadly I dont do tweeter. I denied being involved in JLA but this I would love to do!!!"

Guillermo Del Toro Making DC Film HEAVEN SENT For Warner Bros.?

It's looking like Justice League won't be the only big DC Comics team-up. LatinoReview reports that Warner Bros. is in early development on a project titled Heaven Sent with Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Blade 2). The project would see a bunch of the occult/cult characters from the DC brand teaming up. They include Deadman, Swamp-Thing, The Spectre, Constantine Hellblazer, Phantom Stranger, Zatanna, Zatara, Sargon and Etrigan the Demon. No word o

It's an interesting project considering he was once attached to make Doctor Strange a film that would have been similar to Heaven Sent. Currently, Warner Bros. is trying to put the rights for the characters together. Since there had been film development on a couple of characters in the group mainly Swamp-Thing and Deadman (also a Guillermo project). Guillermo recently developed a working relationship with Warner Bros. after The Hobbit (exiting as director) and his upcoming Pacific Rim. I've posted some images below for those unfamiliar with the characters.
