THE RAID's Badass Actor Yayan Ruhian Joins Takashi Miike's YAKUZA APOCALYPSE

ScreenDaily reports that Yayan Ruhian, best known for his duel roles in The Raid: Redemption and The Raid 2: Berandal has landed a lead role in Takashi Miike's next feature. The film titled Yakuza Apocalypse: The Great War of The Underworld, focuses on a group of yakuza (Japanese gangsters) that turn out to be vampires. One yakuza discovers his boss is a vampire, only to be bitten just before going up against a group of international assassins. 

Considering Miike is known for crazy genre-bending stories, this should end-up a crazy awesome film. Yayan played the two heavies of the Raid films, and could easily be the standout addition to the cast. He'll play one of the international assassins in the film. Hayato Ichihara plays the yakuza underling who is bitten by his vampire boss. The movie is being eyed for 2015 release date.

Legendary Director Takashi Miike Making English Film Debut With WWII Era Yakuza Thriller THE OUTSIDER Starring Tom Hardy

Deadline reports a serious update for the cool Yakuza flick The Outsider. The film centered on an former American G.I.  who ends up working for the Japanese Yakuza. They say that legendary director Takashi Miike (13 Assassins, Audition, Ichi The Killer, Straw Shield) will make his first English film which will have Tom Hardy attached for the lead role.
