Cara Delevingne Eyed For SUICIDE SQUAD Role?

LatinoReview is hearing another actress being linked for a role in David Ayer's Suicide Squad. British actress Cara Delevingne is being eyed for the film. The newcomer is best known for smaller roles in films like Joe Wright's Anna Karenina and Pan, the latter is another Warner Bros. picture. Apparently, Disney is interested in her for Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Her next couple of films will see her working with Johnny Depp in London Fields and Kate Beckinsale in the thriller The Face of An Angel.

Her part in the film isn't being revealed, but there is some speculation with some rewrites it could be Harley Quinn.

Previously, Aussie actress Margot Robbie had been wanted for a female lead in the film. Robbie is known for being in the mix and quickly getting out of it. Margot had been in the running for leads in Fox's Fantastic Four and Dreamworks' Ghost In The Shell, but didn't land the roles. It might be a similar case with Suicide Squad, as other projects could peek her interest and drag her away. S

She seems like a great fit for the project working with Warner Bros. on Wolf of Wall Street, Focus and the Tarzan remake. Working with Will Smith in Focus was our nod this could be a reason the studio wanted to re-team the two actors. Smith's role isn't being revealed, but it's a strong possibility it's Deadshot. The self-appointed leader of the villain team. Tom Hardy is also in the mix, I assume for the role of weapons expert Harkness (Captain Boomerang). There is word via Deadline that Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor could also factor into the film.

Javier Bardem Might Haunt Captain Jack In PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES

Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales has been in development for a very long time, take from that what you will. It's been a while since we heard any sort of casting news concerning the project, even though it's expected to begin shooting soon in Australia. The film has a release date of July 7th, 2017 with Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg directing.

TheWrap reports that Spanish actor Javier Bardem (Skyfall, No Country For Old Men) has been offered the villain role. He would play ghost pirate Captain Brand, who seeks revenge on Jack Sparrow. Christoph Waltz was the last actor in the mix for the part, but was never given an offer. Waltz is the villain of Warner Bros' Tarzan, so it's unlikely they'll want him here as well. You might remember that Deadline reported on Bardem's desire to play Black Beard in Joe Wright's Pan, the role would eventually go to Hugh Jackman.

Geoffrey Rush is set to return, while it's unknown if we'll see actors like Stephen Graham and Ian McShane return once more. There was also a bit of a teaser at the end of On Stranger Tides that Penelope Cruz would be returning too. I'm sure Disney would love to see the couple in the same film.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES Pushed Back To Summer 2016

Looks like we finally have our first bumped film of the bloated 2015 Summer lineup. THR reports that the fifth Pirates film Dead Men Tell No Tales has been moved by Disney from July 2015 to Summer 2016. Siting script issues for the reason for the delay. I wouldn't be shocked if Johnny Depp and Disney have decided to let things cool down after the giant box office bomb The Lone Ranger. Giving audiences more time to forget that mess and enjoy the next mess Disney has in store. It's obviously the real reason Disney/Marvel placed Ant-Man into the the Mid-Summer lineup from it's original November release date.

Johnny Depp Wanted For Duncan Jones' WARCRAFT?

TrackingBoard states that Legendary Pictures is considering Johnny Depp to star in Warcraft. It was announced yesterday that Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) would be replacing Sam Raimi as the film's director. Jones had been previously linked for Man of Steel and The Wolverine. Pirates of The Caribbean 5 is currently still being written and Depp recently signed on to Wally Pfister's digital thriller Transcendance (another project with WB). It's unknown if Depp will be able to make Warcraft considering shooting is expected to begin in the Fall and could conflict with other productions.

Disney Hires New Writer For PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 5

Variety is reporting Disney has hired another writer to tackle the script for Pirates of The Caribbean 5. Jeff Nathanson best known for writing Catch Me If You Can and Terminal has landed the screenwriting gig. However, he also worked on Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Crystal Skulls, Speed 2, Tower Heist and Rush Hour 3. A majority of these credits don't scream quality but he might be working on existing drafts. Depp is likely a sure-thing but returning cast members such as Geoffrey Rush and others are currently unknown.

Last we heard On Strange Tides director Rob Marshall confirmed franchise writer Terry Rossio was working on the script. It seemed that Marshall was open to directing it as well. However, CinemaBlend listed a group of hopefuls Disney was looking to direct the fifth installment if Rob didn't return. That list included Tim Burton (Alice In Wonderland), Sam Raimi (Oz, The Great And Powerful), Shawn Levy (Real Steal), Chris Weitz (About A Boy, A Better Life), and Alfonso Cuaron (Children of Men).
