Four Actors That Could Take The Doctor Doom Role In THE FANTASTIC FOUR Reboot
It looks like the TheWrap has another casting development concerning Josh Trank's Fantastic Four reboot. The trade previously confirmed that Miles Teller (Dr. Reed Richards), Michael B. Jordan (Johnny Storm), Kate Mara (Sue Storm) and Jamie Bell (Ben Grimm) , would take the lead roles in the film. Now they claim that the short-list for villain Doctor Doom is down to four actors. The site is also debunking previous rumblings that Doom would see a gender-swap in the film.
They include Domhall Gleeson (Frank, Dredd, Never Let Me Go, Harry Potter Films, True Grit, Anna Karenina), Sam Riley (Control, On The Road, Byzantium), Toby Kebbell (RockNRolla, Dead Man Shoes, Dawn of The Planet of The Apes, Warcraft, Prince of Persia, Wrath of The Titans, War Horse, Sorcerer's Apprentice, Match Point, Alexander) and Eddie Redmayne (Les Miserables, Jupiter Ascending, Pillars of The Earth). Boardwalk Empire's Jack Huston was also in the mix at one point but it's unknown if he's still being considered. Eddie and Jack had been linked for roles in Guardians of The Galaxy, which may have been for Ronan The Accuser.
Irish actor Domhall Gleeson is the most interesting of the bunch, as he's co-starred with a few Marvel actors previously. Andrew Garfield (Spider-Man) in the film Never Let Me Go , the indie comedy Frank alongside Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Aaron Johnson (Quicksilver) in Anna Karenina which also starred rumored Ms. Marvel contender Ruth Wilson. He also was apart of the Harry Potter franchise, which means he is better known internationally than the rest of the candidates.

The Wachowski Sci-Fi Epic JUPITER ASCENDING Coming July 2014
Warner Bros. has set the release date for The Wachowski's (Matrix, Cloud Atlas) sci-fi epic Jupiter Ascending. The studio sees a tentpole as the film will be in theaters on July 25th 2014. Ascending stars Mila Kunis, Channing Tatum, Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne, Tuppence Middleton and Douglas Booth. It sounds like it takes elements from both Dune and Star Wars so it could be one to keep an eye on.

Actors Testing For Marvel's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
Deadline reports that Marvel is currently looking to cast actors in James Gunn's Guardians of The Galaxy. Deals have been made to have Joel Edgerton (Zero Dark Thirty, Star Wars, Animal Kingdom, Warrior), Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire), Jim Sturgess (Cloud Atlas), Lee Pace (Hobbit, The Fall, Lincoln) and Eddie Redmayne (Les Miserables) test for Peter Quill/Star-Lord. While Peter Quill aka Star-Lord will be the main role there are still key parts left to fill which could include Drax, Nova and Adam Warlock. I wouldn't be shocked that these actors will also be considered for supporting parts in the franchise which will hit theaters on August 1st 2014.
Joel Edgerton has the best chance here with Zero Dark Thirty gathering a massive amount of attention and could land some serious awards consideration. He had been previously linked to speaking with Marvel for a role which very well could have been Peter Quill all along.
While they aren't confirmed for tests, actors such as Garrett Hedlund (Tron Legacy), Sullivan Stapleton (Strike Back, Animal Kingdom) and James Marsden (X-Men 1-3, Superman Returns) are also interested in the project. Sullivan is already heading up a comic book film with the prequel to 300. Garrett apparently turned down a chance to play Captain America to land Tron Legacy, something the actor regrets? A name that seems to be the odd man out is James Marsden best known for playing Cyclops in the original X-Men trilogy. Like Chris Evans, James has roots already in the Marvel film universe but doesn't seem like a good fit among these choices.

Sam Claflin And Eddie Redmayne Among Others Testing For Harry In AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2
HeatVision reports that four new actors are testing for Sony and director Marc Webb for the role of Harry Osborn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. They include Sam Claflin (Pirates 4, Catching Fire, Snow White And The Huntsman), Eddie Redmayne (Les Miserables), Douglas Booth (Noah) and Boyd Holbrook (The Host). Dane DeHaan, Alden Ehrenreich and Brady Corbet had previously linked for the part. Dane and Douglas were recently spotted (via CBM) alongside Andrew Garfield at Webb's home. I have to assume because of his following thanks in part to his Hunger Games: Catching Fire role Claflin could be the most likely to get the part.

Scarlett Johansson Could Join Les Miserables
NewYorkPost is reporting that a few actresses are now testing for roles (Cossette and Eponine) in Tom Hoopers' (King's Speech) Les Miserables. The actresses include Taylor Swift, Lea Michele, Scarlett Johansson and Evan Rachel Wood. The first two seem like names to keep the studio happy but won't ultimately get the parts. The cast already features Hugh Jackman is Jean Valjean, Russell Crowe is Inspector Javert, Anne Hathaway is playing Fantine (Cossette's desperately poor mother) and Eddie Redmayne is Marius (Cossette's love and French revoutionary). Geoffrey Rush who played Javert in the 90's film is rumored for the role of Monsieur Thenardier.
I haven't been too interested in the project up to this point but I feel if they do end up getting Scarlett in there I might have to check it out. That being said if it's an awards bait musical they should be getting actors who can sing, not singers who could act.

More Auditions For X-Men First Class

Deadline reports that more talented actors have auditioned for X-Men First Class. They confirm the previous rumor of Aaron Johnson (Nowhere Boy, Kick-Ass) testing along with Andrew Garfield (Never Let Me Go, Red Riding) who also auditioned for Spider-Man. Other actors like Eddie Redmayne (Savage Grace) and Jack Houston (Outlander) have also tested for roles. The site also confirms the involvement of Ben Walker, Amber Heard and Rosamund Pike. I mentioned before that Eddie would make a great Banshee, I could also see Jack Houston playing Gambit.

CBM caught wind of actress/model Jasmine Dustin tweeting she had auditioned for the role of young a Raven Darkholme (Mystique). Which could mean that Amber Heard is more than likely inline for Jean Grey or Emma Frost (if they're including her).

There was word yesterday that First Class will be the first movie to start off Fox's connective Marvel film universe. It's possible some of these roles could be for heroes outside the X-Men universe (Daredevil, Fantastic Four). We could see more high profiled actors being cast in supporting roles which might lead to future spin-offs. I expect there will be spin-offs for Gambit, Cyclops and Cable/X-Force (previously mentioned).

RUMOR: Could Eddie Redmayne Be Playing Banshee?

It seems like Fox is moving quickly with casting for X-Men First Class. According to Deadline Eddie Redmayne (Savage Grace) might be up for a role in the film as well. Likely if true the ginger actor who recently won a Tony could be perfect for Sean Cassidy (Banshee). The Irish mutant along with Xavier and Moira helped create the school and the X-Men. Sean is also the cousin of the notorious X-Men villain Black Tom who is often seen allied with Xavier's step brother Cain Marko (Juggernaut). This is pure speculation on my part but if he's being linked for the film that's the character most likely he would be best to play. Eddie had recently been rumored for the lead in Spielberg's War Horse but the role went to someone else which could allow him to look for other films.

Eddie Redmayne & Tom Hiddleston To Star In Spielberg's War Horse?

They previously reported on Eddie Redmayne (Savage Grace) landing the lead role. The story follows a young man named Albert and his horse, Joey, and how their bond is broken when Joey is sold to the cavalry and sent to the trenches of World War I. Despite being too young to enlist, Albert heads to France to save his friend where he meets a French Lieutenant.
