Marvel Studios Also Confirms INHUMANS Movie Coming In 2018
Another big announcement of a massive Marvel film franchise was made at the Marvel Event this afternoon. We'll see the entire race of Inhumans finally join the cinematic universe in November 2018. Collider was the first site to scoop it's development at Marvel, and added a script was being written by newcomer writer Joe Robert Cole (Amber Lake). I'm not entirely sure about Cole's script being used, but we'll hear more in the coming months I'm sure.
Here's what Feige had to say about their 20th feature film. Confirming that this could be Marvel's version of the X-Men franchise, will dozens of characters being able to play-around in this film universe.
“November 3, 2018 will introduce dozens of characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe," promised Feige. "We really do believe the Inhumans can be a franchise or a series of franchise unto themselves. They have dozens of powers and an amazing social structure. With our 20th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we wanted to continue to refine what that universe is about."
The amount of characters from the comics is staggering and could potentially spawn spin-offs. They include Black Bolt, Medusa, Crystal and the current Ms Marvel Kamala Khan. Plenty of female roles to be filled, which should make a lot of people happy. Since we have seen a limited amount of women in Marvel group lineups.

Marvel Pitching INHUMANS Script To Potential Filmmakers?
According to Collider, it seems like The Inhumans are apart of Marvel's next exploration of their expanding cosmic universe. The studio has a script by Joe Robert Cole, who is apart of Marvel's screenwriting program (Guardians' co-writer Nicole Perlman was also apart of that program). The situation sounds very similar to when Guardians landed in the lap of James Gunn, after the script was developed in-house at Marvel. Also, Doctor Strange went-out to filmmakers before Scott Derrickson was announced as it's director, and Jon Spaihts (Prometheus) was hired to do a page-one rewrite of the script. We could see another complete overhaul on the existing material. Apparently, the film/script is going out to filmmakers and might need a strong visionary to further develop it.
We previously heard that Marvel was developing the property for a feature-film, but a writer was never named. The last word was, Inhumans was one of three candidates competing for a release spot (Guardians and Black Panther being the other two), which Guardians of The Galaxy would ultimately get. The project was being described as Game of Thrones meets X-Men, as superpowered royal families fight over galactic thrones. Inhumans is such an interesting property, as we've heard this could be a way Marvel is able to develop their own type of "mutants" (owned by Fox) within the MCU.
Recently, Vin Diesel teased fans that he could be "Inhuman" for Marvel. This could be another misdirection by Diesel, or a way to push his own agenda to gain another role at Marvel. Many believe this might mean we might see Vin as the voice of Groot and the body of king of the Inhumans, Black Bolt. Black Bolt's voice is beyond destructive, which means he doesn't speak and would allow Diesel to play two roles within the cosmic universe.
Could we see another creative/unexpected voice like Gunn spearheading our cinematic introduction to The Inhumans? I'd love to see someone unique like Ben Wheatly (A Field In England, Sightseers, High-Rise, Kill List), who I've been dying to see show-up on one of Marvel's director wish-lists. Given that Marvel went with someone a bit more rebellious like Gunn, someone like Ben (known for bizarre/dramatic projects) might be another winning combo. Ben is currently shooting his thriller High-Rise with Loki himself Tom Hiddleston, and has recently directed an episode of Doctor Who. He also wrote his darker films A Field In England and Kill List.

Karen Gillan Cast As Lead Female Villain And Glenn Close To Head-Up Nova Corps In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, Lee Pace's Role To Go From Villain To Hero?
A whole whack of casting/character information concerning Marvel's Guardians of The Galaxy has recently rolled out. THR reports Doctor Who's Karen Gillan has joined the film as a major unnamed female villain along with Glenn Close heading up the long rumored Nova Corps. I wouldn't be shocked if Karen's character might be tied in with the Inhumans (Medusa or Crystal?) slowly setting up that film as well.
Lee Pace's character might have been revealed as well. While we know he'll be playing the film's baddie there is talk that he'll will switch sides at some point in the film. Which could lead to his own franchise/films. The characters being named include fellow Guardian member Adam Warlock, Richard Rider (Nova) and Kree hero Mar-Vell (Captain Marvel). Michael Rooker's Yondu is also being linked as a villainous space pirate rather than a heroic Guardian member.

Game Of Thrones Inspired INHUMANS Film A Candidate For Marvel's Phase Three Lineup?
It's looking like Marvel is going for broke when it comes to their introduction of the Marvel cosmic universe. They are about to begin production on Guardians of The Galaxy which will be their version of Star Trek/Star Wars. Even more exciting is that it was recently revealed via BleedingCool that Marvel might have plans of taking inspiration from Game of Thrones for their adaptation of Inhumans. A sprawling cosmic fantasy epic centred around feuding royal houses which involves the Kree and the forever anticipated Skrulls. It's expected the film would have different houses pursuing the throne to the Kree Empire. Along with the possible looming threat of all out war with the Skrulls. EW lists the project as a solid contender for Phase Three.
This would be a perfect way to introduce fans to the Inhumans (Black Bolt, Medusa, Crystal and others) along with characters such as Ronan, Mar-Vell and Carol Danvers (Ms Marvel/Captain Marvel). The latter heroine has been rumored for ages and recent news suggests Marvel is already at work developing a script for her own film. Plus, Danvers could be similar to Peter Quill/Starlord being the link to Earth. It would be interesting to see her origins first explained in Inhumans before she goes off on her own adventures in the MCU.
