These images from the Comic-Con teaser trailer for Ridley Scott's Alien prequel Prometheus found their way online last month. Yet I finally saw them for myself now and figured I'd share. The grainy images are screengrabs from the Comic-Con event but don't really spoil anything about the film. However the images I'm not posting do confirm that the xenomorphs are indeed in this movie. So fans can breathe a sigh of relief that it will be faithful to the original films.
We get first looks at Noomi, Fassbender, Charlize and Irdis in costume along with some of the tech/set/costume designs. It's unknown at this point if Fox will go for a PG-13 or R-rating for the 3D film that is being released on June 8th 2012. To hedge their bets the studio is shooting for both ratings and waiting to see the final cuts to make a decision. The hope is they go with a R considering the legacy of the franchise and the fact it's a "horror' film set in a science fiction atmosphere. I find these images stunning even if the quality isn't the best. We should expect the teaser to be released sometime this fall perhaps attached to The Thing in October.
