What's Next For Tarantino??

The Originals: Tarantino has mentioned a few times that he'd love to make a western. While Besterds and Kill Bill Vol.2 were highly influenced by spaghetti westerns, they didn't have that lone gunman theme. I expect this one to be similar to Inglourious Basterds as that he could take years developing a script.

The Remakes: Faster Pussycat, Kill Kill! & Come Drink With Me are two remakes Quentin has talked about in the past. It's unknown if he's started writing either projects. My personal prefernce would be to see Tarantino take on a Shaw-Brothers style kung fu flick. While we got a glimpse of that with Pai Mei in Kill Bill Vol.2, it really needs to be explored in a full feature. I feel that Quentin already made his Faster Pussycat style film with Death Proof. Not that I would be aposed to him making it down the line. It's just too similar to Bitch Slap which is already taken a que from the Russ Myers film.

Sequels/Prequels: With the death of David Caradine it's hard to say if we could ever see a Kill Bill prequel. Although it could focus on the early years of Bill in the 60's and 70's, leading up to his arrvial in Japan and his introduction to the world of assassins. This could be a massive love letter to the character Caradine and Tarantino created. On the other side of that is bringing back Uma Thurman and having another crazy revenge plot. This time with Kiddo and Bibi on the other end of it, similar to Shogun Assassin/Lone Wolf & Cub.

There has also been a lot of talk of Tarantino developing a direct sequel to Basterds. This leads me to believe a lot of material was left out of the shooting script. Since his intial idea was to make two films and we ended up getting one. The other concept is that the next Basterds could follow a group of African-American soliders taking on the KKK on American soil after the war. I'd take either in any case he's created a rich world with both Kill Bill and Basterds I'd be happy if ended up making any sort of sequel.

The Adaptions: Two adpations Quentin has mentioned are The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and the Len Deighton trilogy.

Actors: Tarantino has recently mentioned during his press tour that he'd be interested in working with Kate Winslet, Simon Pegg, Anthony Hopkins and Michael Caine. Pegg was attached to Basterds at one point but had to decline for a role in Tintin.
