Marvel/Universal's Namor movie has been talked about for a very longtime. Now there has been traction with Jonathan Mostow (Terminator 3, Surrogates) being attached as director. The character is known to me but I never really considered him on the same level as Spider-Man or Iron Man. I'm sure with a creative writting team and Marvel's involvement it could end up becoming an entertaining flick. The only issue is that Marvel Studios doesn't seem to have the direct rights and creative control will fall on Universal. Also it's doubtful we'll see the character included in the first installment of the Avengers.
Jason Statham who is an ex-Olympian diver was rumored for the role of Namor. Statham has also been talked about for the Daredevil reboot as well.
