Deadline reports that New Regency and Ubisoft are in-talks with Justin Kurzel to direct
Assassin's Creed. It would see Kurzel re-teamed with Micheal Fassbender, as the pair recently worked together on a new cinematic version of Shakespeare's
Macbeth. The Australian director also earned acclaim for his indie crime thriller
The Snowtown Murders.
Swedish director Daniel Espinosa (
Snabba Cash, Safe House) has been previously in the mix to direct, but that seemingly didn't work out. He instead went with the thriller
Blood On The Snow, which is setup at Warner Bros.
